In my mind anyone who wants to put you on a statin is borderline criminal. I took them for a number of years during my military service and then a few more years after I retired. I stopped taking them around the 2008 time frame mostly due to the stories of Type 2 diabetes. 2011 I WAS diagnosed with T2D. Years later I am now low carb/high fat. I went to see a Cardiologist last week for some other possible issues and I told him under no conditions would I ever take a statin. Asked him if had heard of the Oreo Cookie vs Statin test? Of course he hadn't.
