To answer Trevors question about Harper being universally loved. From a Dodger fan who hated him because he rubbed me the wrong way on the Nats. Harpers performance in the playoffs and his leadership with the Phillies has forsure changed my mind. The dude is a beast and one of the best of our generation. Dude is so fun to watch.
About a week ago we were hearing “Texas and Houston are figuring it out” I think we weren’t really seeing the wider picture as they passed each other in then standings. The Rangers are 10-14 in June, 11-16 in May.
I don’t see the Rangers making the playoffs this year. They were pretty mercurial in the regular season last year. I think they were the only team to have both an 8 game win streak and an 8 game losing streak. Who knows, maybe they can figure it out but it doesn’t look like it.
Are we really saying that Matt Chapman, Marcus Semien, Whit Merrifield (multiple seasons), George Springer, Kevin Kiermaier, Brandon Belt (multiple time WS champ), Teoscar Hernandez, Randal Grichuk, Jackie Bradley Jr, & more than likely Vlad Sr & Craig Biggio aren't those "mentors" that Trevor says have been non existent in the Jays organization. Unfortunately the Jays roster doesn't employ HOF's like Thome & Mauer or great hitters like Morneau or Doizer like Trevor's Twins did but Bo has guys like Edwin Encarnacion who is on the bench every home game & Don Mattingly has been on the bench for the last two seasons & Bo has been beside stuck to his side every single day since you see it tons during Jays broadcasts & unfortunately done nothing but regress since. He also has a damn near hall of fame father who was also on the Jays bench for a while that he should be using as a mentor, something most of the league doesn't get the privilege to say & not to also mention how strong the Jays veteran pitching staff has been over the years. Who better to teach a young hitter than the people whos job it is to make those same hitters look silly. Multiple former Cy young candidates like Hyun Jin Ryu, Kevin Gausman & Robbie Ray, wiley veterans such as Stroman when Bo first came up Berrios, Kikuchi, Bassitt, Ross Stripling & one of the best pitching coaches in the game still Pete Walker. (I mean the dude helped Robbie Ray go from ass to Cy Young winner) 🤣 I'm all for wanting Bo to succeed I'm staring at his jersey that I bought at Rogers Center during the home opener series this year while I'm typing this rant 🤣, But saying that "he hasn't had any mentorship" as soon as you put a tiny bit of critical thought into it & realize who his father is that should have been the start & end of that statement, with that alone he has a head start over a majority of the league. If you wanna say Bo gets no mentorship then what about Vladdy? He's been in the exact same situation as Bo & done nothing but thrive other than expected struggles here & there that everyone goes through the guy was a close second to only Shohei Ohtani in AL MVP voting in '21 & now looking like he's becoming more of a pure hitter with some pop just like Sr. Yes I know Bo led the league in hits for two years but like Chris pointed out he just hasn't been Bo in a while now & with the pressure being so high for such a young kid just because his last name is Bichette & Toronto being so tough on their sports teams in general pair that with the playoff failures & this recent year plus slump all surmounting its probably eating away at him & he may just be too much in his own head, I do agree with Trevor that maybe he's a change of scenery type player but as a Jays fan of course I don't want to see him go. But to blame it on mentorship seems like a stretch, if it was that was the fix for Bo they wouldn't even consider trading him you wouldn't think. Thank you for coming to my TED rant 🤣
As a Braves fan it used to be fun to hate him, but I’ve watched him since his clips of home run derby at Tropicana when he was like 17. He’s one of the greatest players of our generation and I love watching him play
As a cubs fan have to say that they need to make moves in order to bolster this rotation, bullpen, starting lineup, and the injuries this season has not helped us at all
As a Blue Jays fan, i feel like Bo is upset with the organization because of how they have failed to retain their veterans. They let Marcus Semien go, a guy Bichette saw as a mentor and leader in the clubhouse. They were unable to re-sign Chapman, another clubhouse leader and a guy that helped Bo improve defensively. They traded Teo and Lourdes, they didn’t re-sign Bradon Belt, and they didn’t do enough to improve the team during the offseason. Bo is all about winning, and Atkins keeps ruining this team with his bs mentality.
Semien was huge for Bo on offence and especially defense. They were super tight and Marcus was like a big brother watch interview clips from Bo after Marcus left he was crushed. The Jays letting Marcus leave was our biggest mistake imho
Wouldn't having Joey Votto around be good for Bo? Where's he at? Is he injured? Did he get cut? I don't follow Toronto that closely but it feels like i haven't heard the name Joey Votto since the news he signed with the jays.
I think he had one atbat on the year, homered and then got injured in the dugout or soemthing like that. It might have even been in spring training but that’s what I remember hearing
Im not too sure about Pages. Would leave too big a hole in OF for the dodgers, and hes been producing. Vargas whos been good and Lux seems more likely.
@@jadedtermite2513 i think they might try for an OF too like Luis Robert . If so that’s why I figured Lux and pages. Remember Bo could be a 30M dollar contract and there is no shot Lux or pages will be that. So it’s more than a fair trade. If bo was actually playing his normal I’d be asking for those 2 and a top pitching prospect .
I don't trust Shapiro or Atkins to do the right thing for the Jays. They need to change the FO before making any decisions for this team going into 25.
STOP IT lolol. Tbh Bo Bichette is a terrible shortstop & has NEVER been good at that position! He would prob be a good 2nd baseman but won't switch position & has been pandered to ridiculously.... & he has had plenty of mentors around him lol. Hard to mentor anyone who knows it all smh. Period, Full Stop 🙄
Feel like he’s what Harper would be if Bryce never matured. Nado always seems to be whining and even a former teammate said he yelled at him when he couldn’t hit the pitches and said “you have to give me something to hit!!” Lol not the kind of player I would tell my son to look up too
fellas if you're showering daily and you can still smell your stinky ass balls through your clothes, don't bother with the whole body deodorant--go straight to the doctor and get that looked at.
On the Question of the Week - Nolan Arenado has 33 career playoff at bats. No doubt future hall of famer with very little postseason appearances or success

Harper grew up. He's not an arrogant young guy anymore. That's why I don't loathe him anymore
I love Harper, he became a hero when he eliminated SD from the NLCS
@mattamatic1 lol for reals man.
As a SD can I resent Harper 😂 but I respect the talent for sure
Same always didn’t likem until that either

I listen on Spotify but have to come smash the like button for the boy's. Much love from a Reds fan from st. Johns NL 👏 ❤️
Phillies fans love Bryce Harper.
Braves fan here. Totally love Harper. Nothing but respect. Wish he was a Brave. Hate having to play him in the playoffs. He’s a good dad to.

Bo has had TONS of mentors & far too many years trying to become a shortstop when the reality is he never was & never will be!
Very well put
Harper is a future hall of famer like button👉
Obviously
As a Braves fan it used to be fun to hate him, but I’ve watched him since his clips of home run derby at Tropicana when he was like 17. He’s one of the greatest players of our generation and I love watching him play
Without a doubt.
Of course he is. Being a d-bag doesn’t disqualify you from the HoF.
I wouldn’t say that quite yet, and Harper is my favorite player in MLB right now.
If he gets a WS MVP, that seals the deal, though.
Nando only has 6 postseason games played and they came in 2020. I’d love to see him in the playoffs because he is ELECTRIC
He’s only 25 though, he’ll likely have more chances
As a cubs fan have to say that they need to make moves in order to bolster this rotation, bullpen, starting lineup, and the injuries this season has not helped us at all

No our biggest mistake was allowing Bo to have his way & remain playing ss years after it was crystal clear he is a 2nd baseman!
And a 10 day il for harper and schwarber, nothing major, they'll be back after the break
Braves could really use Boba right now
Trev and Rosey's RUclipsr banter at the end got me 😂 never change, boys.

Rehabbing
Braves getting Bo would be nightmare fuel for me lmao, Harper has definitely changed his image around
The dodgers I think would look past the 5 months. I could see Pages and Lux coming back for Bo.
Im not too sure about Pages. Would leave too big a hole in OF for the dodgers, and hes been producing. Vargas whos been good and Lux seems more likely.

@@choocharoo yeah i guess thats fair
Harper has matured so much man, he could have leaned into that villain cocky entitled player but he didn’t!
LMAO, I love you guys but what is this first question? When would an injury NOT hurt someone’s career? 😂
Ummm Ohtani...he'll get some at bats in the playoffs now but he's had 0 till this point
This is only his 7 season, like 4th full. He’ll get his time
I don't trust Shapiro or Atkins to do the right thing for the Jays. They need to change the FO before making any decisions for this team going into 25.
For the question of the week, I think that Don Mattingly is the biggest wasted career for playoff opportunity of all time
Grimace mentioned, Trevor probably crying now
Would be cool to see Bo go to the rockies just cuz of his dad even tho rockies are S tier garbage
STOP IT lolol. Tbh Bo Bichette is a terrible shortstop & has NEVER been good at that position! He would prob be a good 2nd baseman but won't switch position & has been pandered to ridiculously.... & he has had plenty of mentors around him lol.

Nolan Arenado in his 12th year has only had 8 play off games and is a guy I would of liked to see in the big moments more
Feel like he’s what Harper would be if Bryce never matured. Nado always seems to be whining and even a former teammate said he yelled at him when he couldn’t hit the pitches and said “you have to give me something to hit!!” Lol not the kind of player I would tell my son to look up too
Maybe I misheard it. Did Trevor suggest Toronto trade Bo in the offseason? Isn’t this it for his contract?
I think he has another year - should be a FA going in to 2026 season
❤
Bichette to STL...idk where hed play im just a Bo fan Gorman DH, Nado(traded or 3B, Winn can play SS,3B and we still got Crawford

What a you expect when you play for Rockies and then cardinals
Alex Rodriguez has 3. Don’t be afraid to say it Chris rose.
Mike Trout enters the conversation. Shame for these guys.
u can clearly see the struggles when hes running at any level.....
the boy is done
Love the show but two ads is crazy for a podcast that frequently has bad audio, freezes, or skips
3* Excuse me
@becomingchase you do know you can fast forward through the ads right? It's easier and more effective than whining in the comments.
harper is a damaged good.....
can he still play? sure.....
but still a damaged good and yes he been had dat labeled on his ass for some time
