This game is a 9/10 multiplayer and 4/10 single player. It’s all about the teamwork. The train level requiring something like 5 people to operate the cannon is especially memorable.
The first time one of the creatures swallowed me whole and I managed to damage it as I was going through its intestines blew my mind. I love Capcom but God do I miss how creative they used to be with their games.
I spent most of last year playing Lost Planet 2 and let me tell you the whole thing is a complete mess except the core gameplay which is fucking magnificent. Everything from the gobbledygook menus to the eye burning high contrast graphics is like prison showers, horrible and uncomfortable. But the game itself? Holy shit is it addictive and amazing. Switching the Bounding Area on and changing the camera to Normal 2 makes the game infinitely better. The Gears of War camera handicaps it severely. Just think Resident Evil 4 but you can move and shoot at the same time.
This game is just begging for a re-release/remastered for new gen consoles. I usually hate all the amount of remasters. But this is such a great co-op game probably more than monster hunter.
it's actually a perfect remaster, too bad it just didn't get the attention, i'm guessing it's the marketing part, couse i've got the game randomly through shopping with my father in a game shop after reading the box, it was after relase everything was advertised fifa cod and all those games, it was in some backshelf ranted in like 18 top games couse they were doing such thing back in those days, i've grabbed it and there was co op action packed tps screenshots from the game it was super cool, bought it, hate windows live ever since, couldn't make my account as i was like 11-13 back then, the ui just was really hard to navigate so i just wanted to play the game. Windows live ruined my childhood couse of no system saves, i couldn't finish the campaign becouse my total progress would delete after every session, so it buggled down to maybe i will be that fast to go through the whole chapters so i can get to a point where i've finished off last time, these cutscenes mean so much to me now it's mind boogling, but the game was addicting af, i've had strats like from opening the game i need to get this that weapon from slot to rushing certain lvl, crazy stuff couse everytime u launch the game u have nothing. Crazy times.
This is one of those games that I've always wanted to play, but I never did for some reason. Back in the day I used to play the absolute sh*t out of the demo of this game where you could play it in coop as well. This game also used to look amazing back in the day and I still think it looks pretty nice now. But coop is a must with this game and transforms this whole thing into something brilliant.
I looooved the first game on xbox 360 it just felt so smooth and so good killing those aliens. So how I skipped this one but I bought the 3rd one on steam but still havent played it. I may go back and play these.
I agree with alot of what you said BUT the customization is not just multiplayer it's for the campaign aswell which is where alot of the "Variety" comes from every chapter or episode you can unlock character customization which after you beat the game for the first time you can switch to a customized avatar for campaign and for the weapons you unlock you can Immediately equip which help to keep combat refreshing for a little longer than if you just kept the basic equipment on and yes the story isn't great but the gameplay and enjoyable moments more than make up for that besides for a 12 year old game I still play and enjoy to this day and if you have friends you can play with the experience becomes so much more enjoyable if you do read this I'm sorry if I'm coming off as an asshole but I wanted to give my opinion and fix the misunderstanding with the customization
I remember getting this game for PC with a sole intent of playing it solo since at the time I had little to no access to a stable internet connection. It was just so amazing looking. But ultimately I was held back by the simple fact that the game is completely geared towards co-op multiplayer gameplay. Because of this levels were extremely tedious to play through with the biggest example being the aforementioned train level. Which I did manage to complete on my own. Unfortunately it was this lack of co-op play and it's incredibly repetitive nature that led me to leave the game unfinished. I had it installed for years with the intent of returning to it but ultimately misplaced either the first DVD or all of them. I was simply unable to find a workaround. I still have hopes of someday locating these DVDs which I am sure I still own. But as of now it remains one of my uncompleted games.
Playing tjis in the old 360 Xbox Live days was something else, I remember playing this with some buddies on Extreme difficulty. Episode 6 was something else when it came to trying to stay alive against the Over G and balancing T-ENG reserves from depleating.
I actually had this in my mind a month ago but i didnt know what was name of game and i didnt bother to find the game, a few days ago i was searching through my old backpack where i had a bunch of old 360 games and found it there. After i turn on the good ol' 360 and started the game, i forgot how fun this game was and started to get nostalgic when i heard ost of the game.
Games for Windows - LIVE software (that provided in your description) is working with windows 11? I played it during my old days and I would really like to recommend to my other friends as well but sadly it get dropped from steam. Now I am trying to make it work as nice coop game can be hard to find these days...
@@Gamingpastime64 1 - can’t wait to see you review them because believe me it’s worth it 2 - if you get it you should review the best one which is half life alyx and boneworks 3 - 😔 Oh and thanks for responding
@Gaming Pastime I would suggested use mods for at least Far Cry 2 and 3 (maybe 5). Something as small as changing the weapon damage or cleaning the UI makes a huge difference in those games. I used Far Cry 2 Redux with a reshade, Ziggy's mod for Far Cry 3 and Resistance mod for 5
Love your videos but the audio is jacked up in this one. The game volume is super low and then your voice is very loud. I'll try and check this one out if it's fixed.
Xbox friends and i back in the day got so proficient at the game we S'd all the missions in extreme difficulty, which only unlocks when you complete every mission on every other difficulty i believe. We each logged about 200 hours, just having fun. This definitely shines with friends and i hope one day capcom will care to fix it and let us play... There are certainly a few moments you would miss out on including a super combiner VS and possibly the super weapons. (kame-ha-me-ha/spirt bomb essentially). Wonder what would have been if the CoD reviewers weren't, likely, paid off the give the game a low score since it came out near a CoD. Also rumored on release that 2 whole episodes were cut due to xbox disc restrictions.
Lmfao critics aren’t paid off to review games. Especially not to give a game a low score 😂 besides this game didnt launch all that close to Call of Duty
It's barely capable. It is possible to complete missions with them. Using the biggest example the train level. Which requires Manning half a dozen turrets simultaneously to put down the boss.
I played the game years ago, solo, and got almost everything. Its sad that ive never got to play the game in coop mode and experience everything the game has to offer Doesnt help that my ps3 does years ago and the game is dead
Do these older lost planet games feel dated and clunky? I cant enjoy most older games even if I loved them like fallout new vegas. I recently tried to play that it it just felt old. I wonder if these still feel great like they used to
I played Lost Planet 1 recently, the first half was exciting, but the second half felt poorly designed and a slog. It got really tedious. Great graphics though.
Ahhh its a shame you couldnt find a couple buddies to play through this with you, while i felt there are too many human enemies and it feels like the Akrids are only half well utilized we certainly didnt feel the set pieces to be lacking, that whole train chapter is a big highlight. Ofcourse any load is eased with friends so i can totally see why the game would drag in single player.
When this man said blackberry I had to look it up and yep it was real 🤣 I'm redownloading this game. I was screaming back then when i was a kid lmaoo. I was scared to play that mission for days
Lost Planet 2 would be one of the best co-op games on PC if it wasn't stuck with GFWL.

Pc or console? If xbox or pc hit me up more then happy to do co op or even multiplayee to mess around with the akrid vs or something

Omg me as well, I fucking loved the demo but never got my parents to buy it for me as a kid.
It seems your voice-over is much louder then the game audio. Turned up my volume at the beginning and then 0:39 made me jump! XD
The co-op must be so fun in this game. It doesn't hurt that this game had amazing graphics for the time. Gotta love MT Framework.
It really is! I’ve been binging it again on the 360 lately, and I just got my PC version fixed, and it’s still a blast

Feel free to increase the gameplay volume of the video during the segments where you aren't speaking. Just a suggestion. Love the channel.
Holy crap, found your channel from your Allied Assault review, loved this game.
You should do a top 10 list of underrated games, or games Gaming Pastime loves while other people hate.
I played the coop, there was a mech that mounted on other mechs and it was something of beauty

Hell yea!! I’ve always thought about how fun this would be coop. Couldn’t get it to work on pc tho without figuring out work arounds
There's a discord server for it if you want to join, we can help with that.
@@themerc5643 whats the discord server?

How much GB for this game
Game was great back in the day with full groups
When will we finally see you guys take on the Earth Defense Force series?
do you think we could organize a multiplayer lobby? I'm sure a lot of people would love to play the game co-op or pvp

One of the funnest games ever.
I have questions
1 - Will you review far cry games ?
2 - will you review VR games in future?
3 - do you love jesus ?
1. We reviewed the first game. We will review the rest eventually.
2. As soon as we can get a VR device at a reasonable price.
3. No.

God isnt real
So this means that you are going to review EX Troopers after the third game, right? Maybe it's the next video.

the PC version have splitscreen????
I really love that series
this game deserved a true co-op sequel. 3rd one did it wrong.
also I'm aware the 3rd is a prequel

Does multiplayer co-op still work on this game?
yes
Playing this in single player would get your ass kicked so hard since so many of the mechs required at least two people to man them.
Played the hell out of the Xbox demo. Super fun!
I set Directx 9 and don't have any crash.
Why did you remove your painkiller review videos?
We're redoing them along with the expansions.
10/10 this game is way ahead of its time
I've seen other reviews saying the friendly AI is terrible.
It's barely capable.
It is possible to complete missions with them. Using the biggest example the train level. Which requires Manning half a dozen turrets simultaneously to put down the boss.
Tem pra vender no Greenman gaming, se eu comprar será q consigo jogar?

120 fps

We need a Lost Planet reboot. The story wasn't the greatest, but the gameplay was super fun.
Is this playable in co-op online somehow????
cant get the second disk to install windows 10

this game is a flawed masterpiece
Don't you ever mention the Blackberry release ever again
Only if the game was available on steam, but I guess they give little to no shit about it anymore
