Fun fact: The main character of this game was modeled after a Korean movie star, Lee Byeong-Hun who was also famous in Japan at that time. However, Lost Planet was never dubbed nor subbed into Korean. As a huge fan of him, that was a massive bummer :(
That´s what I really like about this channel, decent lenght reviews, and it talks about every type of game, especially the forgotten ones. Kind reminds me of Classic Game Room. I really hate 30 minutes reviews about new games that I haven´t even played yet with a lot of spoilers. Thank you!
I second this opinion. It makes them more consumable as a watcher and I don't really like the massive videos that are above 1 hour. The only person I don't mind with that is Ross Scott of Game Dungeon.
Like yourself I bought this game "Extreme Condition" along with "Lost Planet 2 & 3" years ago for my collection but have yet to dive into them. I appreciate your review which covers the many dynamics of the game & game-play quite well & made this game enticing, thank you!
Most of my favorite gaming channels usually cover older games as they tend to be more interesting. I just realized I've been watching this channel for quite a few years now, time sure does fly you by.
I'd love to see this series rebooted. I remember playing Lost Planet 2. The worst part about it were the Snow Pirates and their absolutely braindead AI. And it felt like the later half of the game was just shooting soldiers and not the monsters. Would love to see it get the MHW treatment.
I remember playing this on the 360 and being completely blown away by the graphics and the smoke effects and monsters. What a nostalgia trip. Correct me if I'm wrong but this had online coop/multiplayer with grapple hooks and stuff right?
I remember that game. E3 2005 was the first time Capcom gave us a small trailer. It was released on Xbox 360 early January 2007. Awesome game for its time. I remember i was sooo excited to fight that giant worm, which wasnt even a boss fight. you could walk past it....
I like the moment to moment freedom in these games. Really gives you a lot of tools to play with in a space. But lack of sprint and no dodge make moment a chore.
I just found out today that if you press the crouch button, then a direction, and then press jump, Wayne will roll in that direction. I have no idea why they didn't just give us a dodge button instead.
I remember playing this game (Colonies Edition) for hours on end until 3-4a.m. relentlessly. Counter-Grab with rockets or shottys only was jus so damn fun. You also played with people all over the world. For years it was like the same few hundred people playing. It was just so fun to boot this up after school, select Frank West from Dead Rising as your character and do a chaotic battle for data post control. This game's multiplayer was the highlight of the xbox 360 for me.
I played this one a few months ago and I still think it holds up for the most part. While I thought the plot and characters were weak, the moment to moment gameplay was pretty solid (except for 1 part where you had to traverse a large snowy field while worms were popping out and harassing you). However, 2 feels like such a great refinement and improvement over the original that it makes me wish the series didn't end with 3 being a poor man's Gears of War.
2 was glorious, from Urban and jungle warfare to shelling a boss using a massive railway gun racing across a desert with teammates loading and repairing the cannon as you fight.
@@Flaming1100 absolutely, The first actual mission of 2 where it's basically Alien Vietnam bughunt with your squad which gets capped off by a massive Akrid bossfight is so fun and memorable, I still replay that section everyonce in a while when I get the itch to play LP2.
Lost Planet really is the ideal impulse buy kinda game. Nothing groundbreaking, but all-around competently made. Had it on my list for a while now and seeing as it's on sale at the moment, I'll take the dive. By the way, I might be misunderstanding this, but it seems like there's a newer version available on Steam nowadays that doesn't require Games for Windows Live anymore. There is still a store page for the older version that has a warning label about that on it, but that one doesn't seem to be available for purchase anymore.
I really loved this game when I was 13, It was my first xbox360 game as soon as I got a 360 so it holds a special place in my heart, love the review as well, very well put together 👍
You are doing the Lord's work my guy. There's a bunch of games I've never heard of until watching your channel. Here I was, thinking I collected obscure stuff but nope. If you like RPG games, would you ever review old Bioware games? Stuff like Baldurs Gate, Icewind Dale, Neverwinter Nights, those old titles? Icewind Dale 2 and Neverwinter Nights 2 are only on GOG unfortunately
Imagine having such a powerhouse of a engine, capable of rock solid 720p60 in 2006 for consoles. For people who didn't know: 2018's Monster Hunter World runs on the same engine as the game seen here.
Looking back at your Wolfenstein Youngblood, Mafia 3, Rouge Warrior, Kane and Lynch 2, and Twisted Metal 4 reviews, do you know why people didn't like those games?

Started playing some older games, so the content of this channel has some great examples. Subscribed.
God this game is so special to me. Played this game so much on Xbox 360 back then, along with Colonies.
Some of the visual elements in this game still impress. I wonder if they'll ever make a fourth game.

My first to games on 360 were:
Dead rising
Lost planet
Gears of War
Good old times...
This was pretty incredible when it first came out. I remember being amazed when seeing my friend play it back in the day.
This channel really puts out some awesome reviews, keep up the good work!
greetings from Germany

"Wayne doesn't move fast on foot." Have you ever walked in snow?

Well, time for the rest of the series to get reviewed. That includes EX Troopers as well.

I remember loving this game because it felt very Starship Troopers.

This franchise had so much potential but it was squandered by Capcoms poor decisions like so many other franchises under them.
I loved this game on the 360! Dunno why it just came into my head but I'm glad I found your review. Might get it and play on the deck
When this came out I told everyone to download the demo. Enjoyed LP2. Haven't played more than a few minutes of LP3 on the 360.
Lost planet 2 is awesome
You are doing the Lord's work my guy.

I have the disc version of htis for PC but I cannot get it to install and run. It just crashes every time I try
You can also dodge roll
This series is amazing to play.
You deserve so many more views man wtf

My brother in Christ there is a dodge roll, love this game franchise, wish it wasn’t squandered
Finally you are past those dull Mario Kart reviews.
You should do top 10 lists.
Did you encounter any problems in dx10 mode? This was one of the 2 first games that used the then new dx10 api. I always had problems with it
Never noticed anything other than my video card would get bogged down back in the day on the PC. Loved the DX10 fur texturing.
Can you do a video on quake 4 plz?
Sadly wayne cannot sprint
And I remembered there some epic moment where the vs just upgrade and become like Gundam and fighting mech on space
Great game, i never finished it.
After watching and subscribing here, now I will
Good stuff thanks
i liked how they did the level design of the third game, but the actual game within the levels etc was horrid
good times
Yeeeeah baby AWOO! Less get it!
Is this game still worth 2023?
the only reason why I know of this game is because someone took the mechs out and put then on to gmod
Good review, bland game. Better to keep it in a museum, where developers might learn from its mistakes.
Looking back at your Wolfenstein Youngblood, Mafia 3, Rouge Warrior, Kane and Lynch 2, and Twisted Metal 4 reviews, do you know why people didn't like those games?
Gee, it's almost like invading other people's land is a bad thing
Company that was killed by a woman host. 😂
Lost Planet 2 is better. Impossibly addictive.
Capcom? Convoluted?! Corny Voice Acting?! lmao
I miss this franchise, 3 was god awful though :(
Who tf cares of this review? Seriously. The game was great in 2006.
You cared enough to comment.
Akrid hunter was such a fun game mode
