Matt Berry who plays Douglas, is in a hilarious American made series about a load of ancient vampires living, in modern times, on Staten Island, called What We Do In The Shadows. He plays Laszlo a 310 year old vampire. Five series of 50 odd episodes have been shown on FX but has never got more than 400,000 - 500,000 US viewers. It is based on an original New Zealand made film and is hilarious. Please try and catch it as I know you will both get the humour, having loved this, Plebs, The Inbetweeners and Friday Night Dinner and so on.
Abs agreed Nick ! Loved the original NZ film with Taita Waikiki and this series is in fact even better . Jackie Daytona shows Matts character Laszlo at his abs best - let’s get that on the agenda Brian 👌 👍🏴
There have been many UK shows like Builders from Hell, Plumbers from Hell etc. in which real-life bad tradesmen are invited to a house with hidden cameras to do work & are filmed to see what they do.
The Inbetweeners and The IT Crowd were both Channel 4. Another show that was on Channel 4 and featured both Richard Ayoade and Matt Berry was Garth Marenghi's Darkplace, which was hilarious. And it was only 6 episodes, so it would be a quick one for you to watch
I've never given British comedy much deep thought before, I've just laughed. It's not until you see people from other countries reacting to it that you realise just how random and fucked up we are. 😂✌❤🇬🇧
Channel 4 isn't a cable channel my friend. In the UK we started with just BBC 1, that was our only TV channel when television launched here, then we got BBC 2 and followed shortly by ITV, and that was it for like 20 years or something then in the 80s Channel 4 was launched. It was all public broadcast, no cable. I believe we started having cable and satellite services introduced in the 90s, possibly earlier but you had to be well off to be able to afford that. The majority of the country just had those 4 channels, later joined by channel 5. You legally had to have a TV license to watch TV at all but even if you didn't all you need was a TV and you could watch those basic channels. Our history with television is very different to America's, hope you find that interesting haha. Been enjoying your content.
You guys are amazing, I have watched Americans reactions to British comedians and shows for a long time now but you guys are the only genuine ones who actually get British humour. Love the channel guys, I think you should have a look at Milton Jones and Lee Nelson. Much love from the UK stay safe 🎉
Garth Marenghi's Darkplace has a LOT of random quirky humour and also stars Moss and Douglas Renholm. It's free on RUclips but I believe although they allow reactions they do de-monetise.
It’s not that good though, is it? And I say that as someone who finds it funny. Also, it’s very British and very dated. There are a hundred other British comedy shows to react to before considering something like that.
@@andrewmay1299 Yeah…it is. Dated?? Dumbest opinion I’ve ever heard. I think they’d find it funny. And I was just suggesting it to them, maybe to watch in their own time. Calm yourself
@andrewmay1299 Agree with you 100% Keeping up Appearances was just ok imo. Not in the same league as The IT Crowd. I'd forgotten how hilarious this was, the one where they go to see the gay musical was just genius. A masterclass in how to do a comedic episode, and though I've seen that one dozens of times, I'll never not laugh at Roy going up and down that ramp in a wheelchair! There's not a bad episode imo. Dunno what "@Unfinishe" is getting arsey about? Like you said Andrew - there would be a hundred better shows for them to watch than KUA ✌
Channel Four is just a transmitted TV station in the UK open to anyone to watch- The Inbetweeners wasn't even on that late in the evening. UK mainstream TV has things like The Naked Attraction- a dating style show where potential dates are shown completely naked!
Fantastic reaction guys! There is another, older show with some of these actors in. Mr Reynolm & the girls were having a silent disco. They are getting quite popular in the UK. Especially if the club/disco is near a lot of houses. Everyone has headphones on & the music is played to them. So they dance, which looks like they're all insane.

Channel 4 is not a cable channel in the UK - it is one of the 'normal' free to view channels (sort of - TV licences are for another day) basically after 9pm in the UK it can be pretty much a free for all - although they have started with the trigger warnings for everything - if something has sex, violence, upset, death, links to anything that could be considered offensive, or that is now considered so.
We do have a 24 hour doctor service. We have to call our usual Doctors number & there will be an answering machine with an emergency number. We also have the NHS 111 helpline that's 24/7.
