Just changed my brake light switch. So far so good. Had changed it not too long ago but it drained my battery the other night . Everyone said change the Alt. Had my mechanix check it and he said may not need it but it is reading 12.5 so I had him change it . Then still didnt know the brake lights were staying on. My sister saw them on and i pulled the fuse. Your video was so helpful and i wanted to thank you.
My breaking switch was causing transmission problems. Car sometimes would not move in reverse and when it did it suddenly would put on the breaks without me stepping on the break paddle! Freaking annoying untill I got the schematic of the switch for the 2007 Corolla and found out how the switch sends signals to the PCM which controls the ABS system and ECU! My believe was that the switch was faulty as my scanner detected the code and was causing the PCM to automatically enable the ABS like a ghost! Took it out and sprayed some electric cleaner all over and readjust the all switch where when the pedal is not pressed the button of the switch is free from any pressing. This fixed the problem and has been running like it was before! After 2 weeks on this fix I changed the transmission fluid and filter and Corolla runs even more smoothly! I ended up replacing the switch to a genuine updated version for peace of mind! Yes a faulty "Breaking Switch" causes transmission problems and most mechanics will fail to detect the issue!
Ok update. It was not my brake light switch but the stomp lamp relay in engine compartment. I picked up the part for 20$ and plugged it in myself. No more light issues or sluggish acceleration.
thank you man pep boys is making me do a trip every week for this issue

Is there a difference between the 2 swtiches? Can you get the same for the top and bottom?
I’m not sure to be honest with you. I believe they might be interchangeable.
I think I’m having this issue? I’ve lost all power when pushing the gas. Is that related? Thx man
2016 Altima 101k
That typically isn't a result of this, the car not accelerating
He's wrong it is a result of this I know exactly what ur talking about it's like hitting the brake and gas together
@@efrainalicea7500I believe I have this same problem with my Nissan Altima 2012 my car accelerates no more than 20mph
Yes i too am having this. It happened just before the lights stayed on. I'm changing it today!!

I have this for sure I press it alot to make the light turn off
If you have to press it and jiggle the pedal, more than likely, your switch has failed
@TheEnthusiastMechanic I literally just switched it fingers crossed 🤞 I'll see how it goes
