How did you get so lucky to have the basin all to yourself ??? We thought we were doing pretty good & would find some solitude right up until we hit the basin. All of a sudden we had dozens of people come out of nowhere. Luckily though we found a camp spot away from everyone & found some solitude. Such an amazing place & a place I would love to go back to sometime soon. My video of it will be up Tuesday Afternoon !!!
Yeah...I was expecting at least a few people up there. Then again, I was also not expecting to still encounter as much snow as I did up there too. Being up there early in the season and middle of the week certainly played a factor in all that. I know of someone who went up exactly one week after me and found all the lakes had finished thawing and all the flat benches were free of snow and starting to green up. I'll have a look for your video.
Ah that does make sense. We hit kinda late season & it was on a weekend. Either way it was super beautiful !!! I've watched a few of your other videos and looks like you have some pretty sweet adventures. My video got posted on Tuesday. It's a little long at 20 minutes but I tried to keep it entertaining the entire time. We got snowed on just a little bit which was pretty cool for September.
I have done a lot of backpacking early in the season to much snow. I have done mirror. to Henry's fork and all passes snowed in it was nasty with no snow shoes
Currently I have a budget version of GoPro, an SJCAM4000, that I've been using for most of my backcountry videos. Sometimes I'll supplement with a few clips taken with my phone. i also recently picked up a Panasonic TS50 which I just started to use for some video clips as well.
Enjoyed your video!
Thanks!
