So, in conclusion: In Doom you spend more time fighting Icon's goons with him kinda "being there" and slapping the rooftop. In Serious Sam you just doing parkour in the first phase and have a not that intense fight after, which is pretty like SS1's final boss, where you're running around him and trying to destroy his projectiles. Both fights are great but the "giant" concept itself is pretty hard to make intense
Only Sam 3 had it right, they should have kept on that path making them faster and faster, as Monster Hunter did (although they still have these traditional giant boss too, like Zorah) I mean *especially* since fps characters can run so damn fast.
I think a lot of ways to make a fight against a giant interesting and challenging is to give them a bunch of AoE attacks but give you plenty of speed or moves you can use to maneuver from said attack, that way he can be given more moves but also being challenging in a way
@@cool_knockoutproblem with balancing fights with giants is that developers do not want to alienate people from playing by not giving you means of healing (Doom where small enemies basically walking health packs) and if you delete small enemies having weak attacks for a giant is kinda lame. Serious Sam final bosses where never Better than ugh zan the 3rd as a character, as boss fights my favourite in sam games was probably the exotech larva, the others are kind of forgettable
In Doom Eternal’s lore it says that not only, will the Icon of Sin become stronger the longer it’s on earth. But will create a Black Hole, which can not only end the earth but the whole universe. And the universe is infinite in size, also the Icon Of Sin is immortal. Doom Slayer’s Crucible only put it in stasis it’s not really dead, the Icon Of Sin wins and solos the verse. P.S. Doom Eternal’s music is better.
For the music it really depend on your taste since the 2 game have different style of music one is more futuristic the other more retro style rock and roll
The absurd amount of npc soldiers in serious sam's final boss scene is extremely goofy, also the fact that they all have the same celebration animation at the end made me laugh.
Yeah, croteam took too much of a bite with final battle and run out of budget at the end. Serious Sam 4 is fine game, but lack a lot of polish, i hope fans will patch things up eventually.
Serious Sam just kinda vaguely fires in his bosses direction while the doomslayer has a multistage boss fight that ends with him having to sacrifice one of the most powerful items in the game and o actually kill the icon of sin. If ugh zan where to try and kill the icon of sin he would need the sword.
I like ugh zan more because of the action with grapling hook, but hes definitelly not better that ugh zan III. When i was young like 4 years ugh zan III scared me and i wanted for my dad to do that part of level. As i got braver i started to like that bossfight so much, i think its best bossfight from SS games. But i dont think it would be same with ugh zan IV. He isnt coming towards you like im fokin big and will stomp you, doesnt break anything and does practicaly nothing. So its unused potential for him. (For somebody i ment the SS games that are part of one story SS first encounter, SS second encouter, SS2, SS BFE, SS4
In concept Ugh-Zahn is way, way better but in execution I feel Icon of Sin is a much tighter boss fight even though it's far more boring in how you fight it. Serious Sam 4 had massive development issues so it makes sense the boss was left unfinished but I feel if it had enemies who are riding on the boss' platforms defending him along with the boss being more aggressive with more interesting attack patterns then it would have been great stuff, even if the mech fight in the second phase was lame. The Icon of Sin however is really just another Doom Eternal arena fight against mobs except with a big, slow God of War monster you have to focus on that occasionally attacks - sure it's the better executed fight but is also not creative at all and is just kinda dull.
I think in doom eternal, the dev team was too focused on being true to the classic doom to bring nostalgy into the game. They shouldve chosen a more innovative approach like they did in Doom 2016
icon of sin may be slightly smaller but his power completely oblidirates the other guy. the longer hes where he is he becomes stronger not only specifyed on earth plus he can drain the power of smaller obscule and less powerfull opponents so all the smaller beings die instantly and become exorbed and become his power eventually it will get to a point where he exorbs the finale boss's energy
You know what? The doomslayer is actually pretty sad. Sam has a lot of friends, that he hangs out with. Doomslayer is all alone. No wonder, they made him an animal crossing crossover
Hm, you just made me wonder which is more sad.. The Doom Slayer that had no one Except his rabbit at the start or Sam that he had and lost everyone and became the last man on earth
They need to do a new better graphic version of serious Sam 4 because that end battle is off the chain but I would love to see a updated version of that same battle but better graphics
Serious Sam got help while doom guy did it solo plus he had extra enemies to slay along with that unlike serious Sam who just needed to kill the one dude
However Sam doesn't have a suit that protects him and heals him for killing enemies The one dude had some enemies spawning around him so he wasn't alone

Serious Sam final bosses where never Better than ugh zan the 3rd as a character, as boss fights my favourite in sam games was probably the exotech larva, the others are kind of forgettable
I don't know know about serious Sam, but on phase 2, when he missed the full armor and health pickup, you could see him kind of mildly freak out
Both, both are badass.

For the music it really depend on your taste since the 2 game have different style of music one is more futuristic the other more retro style rock and roll
i had a stroke while reading that
Yes to the music.
Eternal has the most repetitive music out of all the doom games
Doomslayer: i fight gods and demons
Sam: i fight aliens
Can we all agree that the dialouges are just really awesome
It ain't about size, its about technique.
These 2 working together would be legendary, or like a game where you switch prospective between Doom Guy in space and Sam on earth.
That's why I also prefer Ugh Zan 4. In Doom you just shoot him and avoid the other enemies, in both phases.
I got really scared when i was starting out in fps while playing ss3 as kid the stoopid gnaars scared me that time

Doom: quiet guy went solo for planet
Serious Sam: guy that loves jokes and can talk so much. Also got this boss with squad.

The way that doomguy killed that titan all by himself was amazing🎉
Love how doom guy is so powerful he broke the energy blade of the sword off
Wouldn't be the first time
POV: You play i'm too young to die.
When chief sam and doom guy are in a team. You know shit about to go down
Bro nice art on thumbnail it's badass
Also they seem like they would be brothers or better cousins
Serious sam 4
A hero nobody knows
And is underrated
@@jackdanila9893 this game was the most innovative out of the two?
@@jackdanila9893 DOOM (2016) fits also in "being classic doom" instead of innovation.
Im actually impressed by the soldier that storm ugh zan, bc they manage to not get stomped by sam's mech
“Together, we shall bring about the end of history!”
Flicks monster and Sam.
Uh, ok. Selators!
icon of sin may be slightly smaller but his power completely oblidirates the other guy. the longer hes where he is he becomes stronger not only specifyed on earth plus he can drain the power of smaller obscule and less powerfull opponents so all the smaller beings die instantly and become exorbed and become his power eventually it will get to a point where he exorbs the finale boss's energy
There needs to be a Doomguy and Serious Sam collab.... the world would be safe forever.
Indeed
@@notExTaZzY Throw in Duke Nukem as well and the world would be at peace from hell, aliens and worse.
Icon of sin: *Can you wait here for sec ill be right back*
UghZ: *Alr i guess*
*Days later in earth*
Icon of sin but buffed: *So where we was at*
So the serious Sam boss fight is the first person just cause we all want.
Sam: fights boss with teammates
Doom: *Fights a literal demon from hell alone*
So you expected the humanity to just do nothing against alien forces invading their home planet?
Also Sam mostly did all the work
Nice video bro ! :D

Always has been

It's nice to see smaller games like doom try to keep up with triple a titles like serious sam

From this comment we come to learn that this guy started his gaming career with Candy Crush.
Hahaha, serious Sam is irrelevant as some PBS kids show, doom is iconic. Hope you were sarcastic.

That serious Sam clip hurt me physically
Serious Sam got help while doom guy did it solo plus he had extra enemies to slay along with that unlike serious Sam who just needed to kill the one dude
