Wow. Got an answer to my question in under a minute. Thanks for saving my time.
glad it helped!
Thanks Ryan! Do one on how to have two different versions of Blender, and having 2 different sets of shortcuts for each version.
can you create a video for how to setup the hotkeys for sculpting mode? It's difficult to figure out what setup is needed, middle mouse button for drag isnt useful when sculpting.
I try changing some short cut keys in sculpt mode but it won't works because the shortcut has been assigned to other function by default. For example, i want to change front view to up arrow key, bit the arrow key has been assigned to some keyframe by default. Blender does not overwrite existing shortcut key or default shortcut key?
How can I edit the keys in the paid add on pie menu editor? Thanks
this is so simple but you save my time, thanks Bro 🔥🔥🔥🔥
glad it helped!
thank you very much for this tutorial!!!
You're very welcome!
In Blender 3.3 after having created new shortcut go to -> preferences -> save preferences
Great video helped me alot THX!!!
thanks for watching 👍
This really helped me. Thanks
Glad it helped!
Is there a way to to make it where I can use my camera and move it around using WASD? and also use right click to turn it? The whole thing seems over whelming and I can seem to find where you can change that (if you can) thanks!
Yes! Go into the camera's view, and then hit F3 for the search. Search for walk, and then click on, Walk navigation. Then you can move the camera around just like you would in a first person video game. : ) WASD Keys, and the mouse to look around.
This is so good to know, thank you! Does Blender let you know if there's a conflict, like if you choose a shortcut that's already assigned to something else?
Hmm not that I know of. That would be a good feature though. Thanks for watching! : )
You can go in the key mapping menu in preferences and search for the key you want to use to check
Hi, My problem is that when I change the shortcut keys, some other features gets block and I have to restore the feature so I can get to the feature that is blocked. I am hoping that blender can come with that feature that shows the conflict.
I swear some of the key shortcuts are so hard to memorize... thank you for letting me know how to change them!
Thanks for watching! Hope it helps
Hi Ryan, thanks for the tut!
Is there a way of assigning the vertex, edge and face select buttons in the Edit Mode, to a custom shortcut?
I don't have a numpad, but want this option and to have the option in Object Mode to switch views (front,top,etc)...
Any ideas? Thanks so much!
Hmm, If your able to buy a keyboard with a numpad, I think that would be good. You could assign the select modes to other keys, but I don't know what keys would be the best. I guess just assign them to keys that are easy for you to use.
@@RyanKingArt Thanks Ryan! I want to assign them to a shortcut, but don't know what they're called in the Keymap. What should I search for?
@@markokovacevic3225 If you search for: select mode, then go down to Mesh, and it should be the top three.
@@RyanKingArt You absolute legend! Thank you so much!
Good video, I had to change the Alt R to something else, as it opens the AMD Radeon Software, that's what the computer is set up as when I got it.
Ahh I see. Glad it helped!
thank you
You're welcome!
Thank you! :)
You're welcome!

Numpad 1 will go to front. and Control Numpad 1 will go to back.
Thank you for getting to the point
you're welcome!

I wanted to change the pan shortcut key so bad, thanks!!!!

I have a quick question, can I save the window layouts that I make in Blender?
Yes you can! Just set it up however you want and then click on the Save Startup file.
Hey! Just started with blender. Found that the tilde-key isn't on my keyboard. Do you know how to get that gizmo shortcut connected to another key?
somewhere in the key bindings, in the user preferences you should be able to change that, but I don't know exactly what its called.
@@RyanKingArt Ok - I'll keep searching! Thanks!
Thank you. How can i assign the simple 1,2,3 numbers above the alphabets on my keyboard to vertex, edge and face in edit mode in version 2.79. I am using an external keyboard plugged into my laptop because my laptop numbers are not functioning. Thank you.
They should already be set to that on default. Are you using the Emulate Numpad in the Blender preferences? Because if your using the Emulate Numpad, then the 1, 2, and 3 won't switch the select mode.
Also, if your able to update to the latest Blender version, I would recommend it.
@@RyanKingArt That's what i expected but for some reason it does not function. No I am not using the emulate numpad. i made sure to avoid that,
@@RyanKingArt yes, i update as often as i can and keep all older versions. I was following a tutorial in 2.79 and found that i could not get those number keys to work. Thank you so much. I will go along without this function for a while and sort it out later. Much appreciated.
Thank you
You're welcome!
How do I change the axis letter please...from x or y to different letters
I don't think there is any way to change the axis names.
@@RyanKingArt Ohk..thank you very much
My view angel not working correctly.when i press num1 it goes to side view instead of front view.looks like i set my object in false direction .how i can change it.i dont wanna delete my object just set correct view angle.num1 front and num3 side
hmm, that'd odd. Are you sure your object isn't just rotated incorrectly instead?
@@RyanKingArt I don't know. I'm a beginner. My object is a circle to make an eye. At the beginning of making it, I rotated it 90 degrees so that it is at the right angle to make the iris of the eye. After that, every time I press the numbers, the eye is at the wrong angle.
Does Blender accept hitting a key twice or three times as a shortcut? Such as replacing Ctrl+Alt+0 with vv or vvv.
Yes, you can do that! Go to the Keymap, in the user preferences, and search for, camera. Its under, 3d view, View Camera. Open that tab up. Then click on the, Numpad 0 Button, and it will say, Press a key. Hit V, or whatever key you want. Then, in the drop down below it, change it to, double click. Then save Blender's user preferences. 👍
@@RyanKingArt - It was under "Align Camera To View" but I figured it out. Thanks.
@@minggnim Oh oops. Your right. I was directing you to the numpad 0 shortcut. Sorry about that. 🙂
@@RyanKingArt - No problem. It gave me experience looking around and finding what I needed.
thank u sir
Your very welcome!
Yes, Thanks dear.Hug.
Thank you : )
cant find how to make hotkey for graph editor tho??? helllppp!!!!
Hmm, well the graph editor is an editor type, so I'm not sure that you can make a shortcut for it.

how to assign less-then greater-then keys shortcuts in blender
Hmm, you should be able to assign it just like any other key. Is it not working?
@@RyanKingArt i tried but the problem is that the (dot). and less-then icons are on the same button in the keyboard.. so please try it yourself and plz tell me how to assign🙏
Take care not to click the X to the right of each shortcut in the keymap settings. I have no idea how anyone thought that button was a good idea.
Lol Yeah, although if you want to Restore it, you can just press the Restore button at the top of those shortcuts.
yo man great (first comment)(first view)
Second comment!
Thanks : )
