Sir I take my hat off to you. You are not only spending time and engaging with your beautiful children, but also teaching them to cook, be creative and to imagine. You will witness the rewards of your efforts in the years to come and be so happy. I wish the best to you and your family. Well done sir.
Just stumbled into your channel while looking for pickled eggs recipes. I love how you involve the kids. About to che k out some of your videos just because you look like an awesome dad. 👍
Thank you so much! I hope you find a recipe you like. In had never heard of them either until we moved out here, got chickens, and then had way to many eggs so I decided google what to do with them ..... And here we are! 😁
Dude try the beets pickled eggs. There good as it gets and they look so cool. I put beets in there and onion bells. Hot ground mustard vinegar pickling seasoning lots of pepper and some Hot sauce of choice. 👊🏼 My daughter and I area always in the kitchen making something up. Awesome video. And the pineapple eggs sounds trippy.
@@PrattFamilyHomestead Makes 1qt. 1cup vinegar 1/2 cup water 1/2 tsp salt (kosher) 1/4 cup sirracha Simmer unrill salt dissolves Optional- red pepper flake Tbs Red oinion- yellow orange Two days in fridge ready to eat. Enjoy
Pratt Family Homestead you are welcome. Have you tried pickled garlic? They are great. But I would advise to eat it when you don’t have to be in public for a few days.
Great video. Curious if you fridge them, or leave on the cabinet? Most fridge, but maybe I'm just used to fermenting. I know pickling is different, but still. Peace. ; )
We also are big fermenters. I keep wanting to ferment eggs but for some reason haven't. But, following NCHFP guidelines ... We always refrigerate them.
@@PrattFamilyHomestead, thank you for your response. I appreciate it. Also, love your family as well as your beard dude! I wish I could grow mine that long. Peace. ; )
Most Adults don't realize their senses of taste and smell have diminished greatly. These senses still work in Children. If they like it, whatever recipe is gold.
i eat famous daves devil spit pickle chips and after i eat all the pickles i put 6 eggs in there and wait at least a week and they are some of the best pickled eggs ever and you don't get any heat from them, just a super easy way to do pickled eggs.
Ha! It does! But we have done multiple recipes and I know adding sweetness is big on some of the the recipes. I NEVER imagined I would like pickled eggs until 3 or 4 years ago we had way to many so I google and found "pickled eggs" ... tried them ... and over half of us really like them!!! Who would have thought!
Thank you for posting the recipe I would love to try the spicy one , you have a beautiful family and in a few years you will have boys lining all the way around the corner to meet Faith .
I've only ever had the ones from the store and they make me gag but I have sooooo many eggs right now i have to do something lol. I hope the dill recipe is the winner.
That is why I started with pickled eggs. I needed something to do with the eggs LOL. Our whole pickled egg playlist -- ruclips.net/p/PLxszjH8LCKbWkQINPy2FLqcofYENYeINO
Thank you so much!!! I am pretty fortunate that most of the kids will try about anything. At least 2 of the kids will 100% always try what I ask them to. :)
Wonder if doing the pineapple eggs would be better if doing like a sweet-and-sour thing with that recipe and adding a mixture of hot peppers for hot and sour?
Great idea! Reminds me of this recipe we did. Now I wanna try combining a couple recipes. Starting at about 7 mins in this video. ruclips.net/video/7tLEC5rY-wU/видео.html
Oh Michelle, all I can say is I hope you are doing good "down under". My heart breaks with all the videos and news coming out of there! Please let us know your doing ok!
How do you store them? In the fridge or in pantry and do you know how long they will keep? Chad loves pickled eggs and I'd like to try a few different recipes but have always been curious how to store them. Right now keep in the fridge but I see stores keep them on the counter. Thanks for any help.
Soooo .... My typical response is ..... The USDA recommends keeping in the fridge for 4-6 months. I've heard from a lot of people that keep them on the shelf .... But ..... I don't. I keep them in the fridge.
I pickled eggs for the first time this year and I loved them! I did find the whites to be a bit tough but I had never even eaten one until I made them so not sure if that's normal or not? I used Carolyn from homesteading family's recipe. Worth a try for sure! Hope you guys had a great holiday season💛
Thank you! I love trying different recipes! And yes, the tougher whites are normal and I actually find that I have come to really like them that way over straight hard boiled! Thank you for watching and commenting!
USDA recommends 4-6 months refrigerated. Alot of people say that since it is packed in vinegar, not need to refrigerate. We usually refrigerate and eat them so fast that time doesn't really matter :)
What's the deal with how long pickled eggs will last? In or out of fridge ? I've eaten pickled eggs from the local tavern many times I swear that gallon jar just sits there on the shelf until it's empty no fridge
I came for the eggs, but liked the family more 😄
Totally, me too!
I agree.
