Why you SHOULD SPEND $4,000 on a CAMERA CART instead of a NEW CAMERA.

I had a cart for quite some time and can recommend. It's easy to make something servicable with a Utility cart and a little DIY spirit.
I do mostly corporate stuff, so I was able to reduce my gearset down to a backpack, a duffel, and a rolling hard case. That was important for moving into a smaller space. But the sentiment of being thoughtful of how you store and transport your gear definitely resonates with anyone who does this work.
Excellent overview I've got a rock n roller, would love this cart but don't have space for it lol
If you don't have a camera you don't need a camera cart
Great for AC’s to bump up their rates with a $100 cart rental 👍🏼 no camera needed
Many cinematographers or DPs rent gear
Great video, Josh. I'm rocking the Adicam since I live quite close to poland (where Adi produces them) and got my standard+ for little over $1200 USD. Happy new year!
That’s a great price haha. Jealous!
I recently bought an Adicam with 10 inch wheels. I havenever been so excited about gear as I am with the cart. I hav edremt of owning onw for 2 years and finally I have one. I have not gotten to using it yet unfortunatly, but I am rolling it around in my back-yard because it is so much fun. I tested it on snow today and it has no problems. I am very interested in trying an Inovativ too, as they are the best. Adicam is a lot cheaper here in Europe, and they work great. Great video Josh! :-D
I still think Adicam has the bes C-stand solution with it's front rack. The side load stand holders still aren't ideal and inovativ only has holders that work with matthews stands... Diameter of my stands are too big. Stoked for you!
hottest take I've heard in a while! "I'm not old"
I've gotta get all my stuff in a Skoda octavia 2020 .Considered a production cart but the cart itself will take so much space
Yah it’s definitely tough to manage if you don’t have a larger vehicle. That’s why another one of my videos this year will probably be “why I bought a truck” 😅
Nice. I am a current rock an roller user. I have my own cart built out with harbour freight stuff but it just stays in the studio, as a camera workspace since it's terrible haha.
Yah if it lives in a studio it doesn’t have to be as expensive as inovativ! You can definitely save money by going with shape or pro aim!
I literally have been thinking about buying this lol. Might pull the trigger soon👀
I agree with you. I think camera cart is essential gear for professional videographer or film maker.
100% especially for those more well lit interviews where youll need more grip gear!
Josh, I agree completely. Any type of upgrade from Rock n’ Roller is worth it. Those things have so many quirks that are very annoying. A serious cart with two shelves is going to make a big difference on shoots. For those complaining about budget, there are cheaper ways to do it than $4k. There is middle ground between the crappy Rock n’ Roller and Innovative.
There totally are. My reasoning for spending more was the weight savings when I have to load it into my truck on my own 🤷♂️ it’s been a great investment so far!
It’s a very nice cart.
What do you think of cheaper options like Proaim, DigitalFoto, Shape, etc?
Hey! From what I understand the cheaper ones also work great! They carry less load capacity at 440lbs (vs 600lbs) and definitely heavier (110lbs with wheels attached) but if you work with multiple people on your shoots its easy enough to get in and out of vehicles with help.
Wow that thumbnail is personal!
😇 you’re the exception… directors who can hire me and my cart to assist with grip gear 🫡
IS THIS THE JESSE DRIFTWOOD STUDIO?
The one and only, www.evilempirestudios.com !!!
My most popular video was shot on the rx100 mark 5 in 1080p 😂
No hair/rim light? Pretty sure that's illegal on RUclips. At least you have a nice cart you can hide in.
😂

Looking forward to hearing from you!
Terrible advice. Especially if your work life isn't as evolved. This is probably a video for like 30% of your audience ☠️☠️☠️
Why would you think this is terrible advice? I feel like I was open about only purchasing when you reach a point in your career where you can
A. Afford it.
And
B. Require something like this.
I totally understand this isn’t a video for everyone but I made it because there are people who will find it helpful.
Anyways, thanks for your feedback and have a great year ahead!
Then don't listen
