Just found your channel and love your tutorials. By chance do you recall the brush size you used? As a beginner so,etimes I struggle with knowing the size brush to use. Thank you!
Thank you! I'm glad you are enjoying the tutorials. I don't remember exactly what I used at the time of filming this video - but most likely either 4, 6, or 8. Those are my go-to sizes for florals!
beautiful flowers but I do have a question. The example piece the petals are well blended and the ones you painted for the tutorial the darker color on each petals are polka dots, why didn’t you blends those as the example piece was done?
Those polkadots you refer to aren't actually polkadots. It's how the color separates the mineral particles. Both of the colors she mixed to make that color are what's called granulating colors. The particles granulate. Lots of real watercolors do. Usually represented by a G on the charts of companies. Like ultramarine and moonstone. But some companies granulate more than other companies if the same pigment number. Because it depends on the amount that company uses. It's great for adding texture to otherwise flat images depending on the desired outcome. So the answer to your question is there are a lot of reasons why it dried that way. Could be she opened a new tube and mixed the new colors after the original. Amount of water on the paper when making watercolor will also always change the way it spreads. Could be the watercolor wasn't mixed thoroughly in the tube which can happen when she made more color there's a bunch of reasons. Hope that helps you to know that it was not her and it is the paint that does that.
hello and thanks for your tutorial. I don't understand shadowing here. On some leaves and petals, the shadows are such that the light seems to come from the right. But on the bottom petal of the top flower, it is completely the opposite. Why? thx!

It's a tutorial on technique, not shadowing. That's probably why.
