I also do kiefer, probiotic cottage cheese, sweet pickles, olives, and I've learned how to pickle veggies in a crock. I love that. I hate sauerkraut. Blech. I did the American Gut Project and got a report on my biognome. It said that I had a rare bacteria in my gut. I think I got that bacteria when I took a trip to Tuscany. I was the only one who drank the rennet, and then I ate all of the left over organic carrot salad that nobody wanted. Everyone looked at me like I was crazy. It was a group of Americans. That rennet came from the grass fed goats in the Tuscan foothills. Where else would I have acquired that bacteria? Maybe it's helping keep the plaque at bay.

(2012) but focused 2 years of my life to exercise and change nutrition.. got down to 189 lbs (2014/2015), no surgery, just effort (gym, tennis, dancing) and clean eating. The CAC Test is super easy - 10 minutes. Outpatient process pay out of pocket around $100. I’ve been taking A LOT of vitamins from Dr. Berg shop (D3&K2, all B’s, Cod Liver Oil, Lung Cleanse, and more) Results from CAC Test: only .6 value. Less than 1% it is not considered an issue. Good Luck everyone, contact your primary physician to schedule a CAC Test before you feel serious pain.

Dissolve plaque in your arteries by daily taking (non-GMO) SOY LECITHIN *GRANULES* (not lecithin capsules or softgels). Begin by taking 3 tablespoons all at once, once a day, for 12 days. After doing the '12 Day Flush', you can cut back to 1 or 2 tablespoons a day. This will keep everything liquified and your blood fully flowing through arteries and veins.
You are so right dr berg, and I can proove this. I have hardening of arteries and I did what mainstream suggested and stopped the fatty foods, one of them was something I eat a lot of and that is pasture raised butter. In two weeks my legs showed more blockages and hardness in arteries than all the time I was eating fats. K2 is lost very quickly in the body so only a few days without will start calcifecation build up, but equally once eaten again will stop this process. Always pasture raised meats and dairy. No coincidence its getting impossible to source, and when you do its now 3 times the price of non pasture foods.
I've noticed that it's better to ferment your own sauerkraut (and other vegetables) rather than to buy it from the store. If you look at the labels of store bought sauerkraut, you will notice that it has also been pasteurized, which kills all the good microbes along with the bad.
Thanks so much for this knowledge. Had my family had known this 40 years ago our father may not have had five heart attacks and my life would have turned out much differently.
They spray grains with Glyphosate just before harvesting. This is for the desicating effect, so that they dry quicker. So the grains arrive in our food chain, freshly doused in Glyphosate. Glyphosate kills our microbiome, as well as being a carcinogen.
You're right, and it's scary eating food these days. I found out that Italy banned the desiccation of grains with Glyphosate, so I started buying flour imported from Italy to make my own bread. I buy a 55 lb bag of it and put it in freezer bags and freeze it. It's cheaper buying it in bulk. I recently read where they tested beers and all beers on the market, except Peek beer had high levels of glyphosate. The grains they use to make the beer are also sprayed with glyphosate.
Here in France there are a lot of fromages au lait cru which is cheeses made of raw milk, that is non pasteurized milk. They happen to have a much stronger flavor as well.
@stephaneislistening6103 When I spent time in Paris, my *biggest enjoyment* was to get fresh baked bread and wonderful, delicious French cheese to make a sandwich that I would eat in the park. It might be considered really _"low brow"_ but I enjoyed that even more than fine dining in various restaurants. In fact, 7 years later, I crave and miss those cheeses (and which I could find the same ones in NYC, but never could). I guess I need to go back! 😍
Being a vegetarian I eat alot of veg, grains, vegan yogurts.. Etc... Also I do raw veg drinks in a blender.. Especially with beetroot..... But never knew about fermented foods.... Will try it...

Last night’s dinner: (before I saw this video) I warmed some sugar free Canadian bacon in some pasture raised organic butter, then I toasted some keto friendly bread (Base Culture 7 Nut&Seed), then melted some raw cheddar on it and then not only added the bacon to it but I soaked the toast with the warmed butter from the pan. Then I had a bowl of Bubbies brand sauerkraut topped with broccoli sprouts. Dr Berg has taught me well!! A few hours later I see this video.
I proudly acknowledge that I follow this diet💪 In addition to that I ferment cucumbers, cauliflowers and red radish. Fermented garlic is soo delicious!
Thats good news I like most of the these foods too. I've never eaten Sauerkraut, though. I'm very adventurous food wise and just mainly eat a balance with a natural bias towards savoury and veggie/fruit. I can't stand most sweets and puddings. Always cooked and used fresh food, as much as I could. I never hardly ate , even as a child. I'm 54, and 7 and a half stone. I'm by no means a health expert but I never stressed about food and loved Grandmas and Great Grandmas cooking, always clearing my plate. Some of the food was grown on allotments and from local suppliers. I would just clean the plate and go out to play. I still do that now, eat and go for a walk a little later. Sometimes I think you have to put food in your body thats quite potent, to give your body a vital work out.
I have moved home where i now raise my own animals for food, hunt, garden and gill net. Since ive taken on this natural diet my body is full of energy and i feel great. Now if i could just get off the couch and stop watching RUclips 3 hrs a day my back and body would probably stop hurting.

The only thing I don’t like about store bought fermented food is they all add sugar and I’m struggling to get my glucose down. I will look to see what I can do on my own. Thank you so much, Dr Berg! ❤
You shouldn't have to worry about the sugar. The microbes (bacteria) eat it and metabolize c that by the time it gets into your stomach, there's very little sugar left. Like when I make kombucha I put in a little sugar to feed the bacteria. It's gone by the time it's brewed for drinking.
fermented foods are super easy to do yourself very little needed in the way of supplies, mainly salted water a vessel and cover the bonus of doing your own is the ability to choose organic veggies

All addictive substances tobacco, alcohol, cocaine, SUGAR fo course and smack aka heroin - ALL PLANTS. think about that before you choose to eat plants again.
My mother used to make sour kraut and sausage, which we ate periodically for dinner. I hated it, but my brother liked it. I was pretty healthy growing up.
My grandfather apparently used to make several barrels of sauerkraut in the basement every year. I occasionally will take half or all of one head of cabbage and shred it up and then knead it with Himalayan pink salt and pack it tightly into mason jars and leave those in a dark cabinet for a few weeks when I need to rebuild my digestive microbiome. Any Time I start to get digestive issues like gas or indigestion, I know it's time to make another batch. I think the fact that I use my bare freshly cleaned hands is what inoculates the kraut using the healthy bacteria that withstand hand washing, any fungal spores under my nails, etc. I'm pretty sure commercial sauerkraut has been over pasteurized to the point that nothing survives, even the good bugs.
The wife uses bacon grease with the fermented kraut we make when she cooks this meal and used cheese as well but I’m going to pickup some Bree cheese to try it as well. Good luck and wish you well friend.
I'm not a doctor but I have always believed instinctively exactly what you have described and confirmed here. I am now 68 and more healthy than any of my immediate family and siblings were (RIP). I started consuming only full fat yoghurt, cheeses like brie and camembert, sauerkraut, tempeh (fermented soya beans), miso soup with seaweed from 17 years of age on; not typical of an Irish diet. I'm also a big lover of good salami. So far my health is good - touchwood! Let's see how far this goes....

While not necessarily keto I've found tart cherry juice or juice extract mixed with dark chocolate or cacao. The chocolate dilates the blood vessels and the cherry juice is good for dissolving the little condos the bad bugs have made in your body. Great for joints due to gout or arthritis as well.
I heard about a guy who went to his Dr and the doctor told him his arteries were so badly clogged that he was going to die and he told him to just go home because there was no help for him. He had started drinking tart Cherry juice every day. That’s all.
Apple with dark chocolate is another great combination that's really good for you. I like to eat them together after my lunch at work and it always makes me feel great and gives me a huge mood boost. I'll have to try it with cherry now. Food synergy is pretty interesting and something more people need to be aware of

Most of the sauerkraut in Germany is not fermented, but pasteurised, which kills all the good bacteria. But you can simply make your own ferments, there is a plethora of diy content on YT.
Fermented hot sauce is another good source of lactobacillus and other microbes. It is easy to make and is a nice addition to many of the foods you listed.
All the foods you mentioned contain K2 but they aren't the only foods, that contain K2. Dark leafy green vegetables, such as spinach, kale, and collards, lettuce, turnips, broccoli, carrots, blueberries, grapes are good for K2.
God bless you Dr Berg! You have taught me well. Thrilled I guessed the Vitamin and was correct. 💛 You are such a gift to humanity. Much love to you and yours. ❤
If you buy sauerkraut or any other fermented product, make sure that it's in it's own brine (salt and water) and contains no vinegar. They replace the brine with white vinegar to make it shelf-stable, but it loses it's probiotics and can destroy the K2. Check the label!
Vinegar does not kill the good bacteria and microbes, heat pasteurisation does that....the fermentation itself creates a microbe rich vinegar akin to apple cider vinegar and pickling has always been recognised as a safe method of preserving food.
@@MrKidOcelot Wrong. The vinegar used to make commericailly-processed fermented foods shelf-stable is highly acidic. A pickling vinegar of at least 7%-10% acetic acid is used to halt the fermentation process by killing off a large amount of the probitoic bacteria present on the fermented foods, thereby allowing the glass-bottled jars to be safe to seal and transport at room temperature or above it.
Thank you for this very valuable information and your help, Doctor Eric Berg. I am a big fan of yours and have been following your videos for almost 2 years. Thanks to you, I have a much better lifestyle and eat much healthier than before. Thanks to you, I understand the human organism much better. I live in Vienna, in the capital of Austria, and am surprised that you can get such high quality information from the USA, but in Europe everything important is somehow suppressed and only doctors have this valuable knowledge, but are not allowed to pass it on to their patients, otherwise their license to practice medicine would be revoked. An example is that doctors in Austria continue to recommend dark bread instead of light bread to diabetics, even though the glycemic index, even if lower, can still be harmful for a diabetic.
I'm loving this guy. All the foods he speaks of that we should eat I like to eat anyway. It's just all the other crap I eat I need to cut out which I will do.

I do appreciate Dr. Berg's advice. I really do. Some of his tips have helped me to manage my chronic inflammation better. All the same, it is unfortunate that he recommends eating pork- of all the unclean things. The LORD tells us clearly what is good for us in Leviticus 11.

The calcium score may be an indicator of problems but don't panic if it is high.
I just Want to personally say thank you so much for your knowledgeable clear videos. Your contributions are THE BEST. I really appreciate your sharing.
I make sauerkraut by *bare* hand specifically for the healthy, living bacteria that colonize it. The store bought stuff has mostly been pasteurized to the point where nothing can survive, and some might even be treated with chemical sanitizers of some sort. I know that with blue cheese and other cheeses that contain mold, and especially salad dressings containing blue cheese, they add natamycin which is the medicine they give to children with ear infections.
Yup. Most storebough pickled foods are sterile. They do that by replacing the brine with vinegar in order to make them shelf-stable, thereby eliminating the beneficial, natural bacteria that was feeding on the pickles. Pickles were traditionally kept in their own brine (salt and water) and kept cool in the cellar (then later refrigerated) to slow the fermentation process. They're selling us STERILE pickles.
@@paulbillington8290 You can eat those cheeses, just make sure you read the labels for preservatives, etc and ensure your cheeses are made from grass-fed animals or at least organic. Dr. Berg says his favorite cheese is brie in past videos.

I did the American Gut Project and got a report on my biognome. It said that I had a rare bacteria in my gut. I think I got that bacteria when I took a trip to Tuscany.

So the grains arrive in our food chain, freshly doused in Glyphosate.
Glyphosate kills our microbiome, as well as being a carcinogen.
especially oatmeal
You're right, and it's scary eating food these days. I found out that Italy banned the desiccation of grains with Glyphosate, so I started buying flour imported from Italy to make my own bread.

My mother used to make sour kraut and sausage, which we ate periodically for dinner. I hated it, but my brother liked it. I was pretty healthy growing up.
One of my favorite meals!
A tsp of bacon fat to take the edge off the kraut....

Make sure to use garlic with it, otherwise, you may not like the outcome. Fresh garlic added to the ferment makes a DELICIOUS kvass.
Dr. Berg, I have recently gone keto with amazing results.
It is truly a new lease on life, my brain feels like it has doubled in effectiveness and I can’t thank you enough for the knowledge and encouragement.
Amazing
i've read young generation having

chicken and lots of veggies
and multi colored fruits,
yogurt and almond milk.
Thank God, no ailments to
complain about.
Agreed. Dr.Berg is 95% on point.
That kale though...
🤣🤣🤣
Activated charcoal is a good cleaning agent . I take this occasionally when not feeling well and always notice feeling better .
How do you take it?
It comes in capsule form.
Not disagreeing with you, but wouldn't that clean out your intestinal tract only?
@Ron Ashman I don't know much about activated charcoal but I read a book several years ago and it said to take it as part of a cleansing diet. Then I was curious about what it does and googled it and found a video on RUclips that showed monkeys in the wild eating charcoal because it absorbed the toxins from the leaves that they ate.
@@ronashman8463 Systemic detox. IF you were snake bitten, the EMT would give it during the drive to the ER.
Rumour has it, Dr Berg is currently 138 years old and still has the body of a 19 year old.
Like seriously 138
He is only 93.
😅
Some say he might moonlight on Top Gear and may be known as the Stig
He's clearly around 65 to 68
I really enjoy watching your channel. I Recently had a acute coronary syndrome which felt like a heart attack. It kinda freaked me out. I prefer natural over prescriptions any day. Extremely helpful video. Thank you for taking out the time to make it. 😊
All pharmaceuticals begin w plants it's the fillers that are so toxic
I recommend good quality Omega 3, Q10 and pycnogenol, fruit extract or hawthorn flowers, a healthy diet with calorie control. The arteries can be cleaned..
Thank you for validating what I have been eating for years. I don’t have inflammation problems and will get that test done to see if I am on the right track!
Sure. Thanks for watching the video. Have a nice day!
Once again-thank you so VERY, VERY Much, Dr. Berg! You truly ARE saving lives, & helping many people. Very smart & a great Big ❤.
Greetings fr. my wife, Stacey and I from New Brunswick, Canada!
It's nothing. Glad to help you all. Have a nice day!
Heart patient with scoliosis here. Thanks Dr. Berg.

@@user-kn6pn1cn8m Thank you and the same for you.
How is pork sausage good for the heart? You are misleading people. And so many people buying the crap that you're selling them @@Drberg
cannot thank you enough to Dr. Berg to make things simple for commoners 🙏
Glad to help!
I had 4 tablespoons of sauerkraut and a pork chop for dinner last night! Very good! Thanks Dr Berg! 🙋💕
You should do a video explaining the difference between anticoagulants (warfarin, xarelto) and antiplatelets (brilinta, plavix) with respect to Vitamin K - thanks for your videos, very informative
Another amazing video! It's funny, I was born and raised in Germany... and the suggested meal sounded like a regular dish from back home! Brats and Sauerkraut and some homemade sourdough bread. ❤
Thank you Dr. Berg for your educational videos and letting us know what we can do better! It's really crazy how we are being told wrong for years... Of course people need to understand the concept of moderation!
Thanks for clearing things up for us and spending all this time and work on research! You are the best! 👍❤️
Brats and sauerkraut is so good! Throw in some kidney beans...💓🤌🏾

What is Brats
@@traceyburzynski German Bratwurst
Thanks for your comment. Have a nice day!
I like blueberries@@Drberg
Thank you because im not eating all that meat to help my heart but kill my colon
God bless you and your family, Dr.Berg 🙏🏾
God bless you Dr Berg! You have taught me well. Thrilled I guessed the Vitamin and was correct. 💛 You are such a gift to humanity. Much love to you and yours. ❤
I’m with you, knew it was K2 ❤
Very glad to be of help.
Stay away from too processed food... wow, that is really new information!
I'm loving this guy. All the foods he speaks of that we should eat I like to eat anyway. It's just all the other crap I eat I need to cut out which I will do.
Dad in the 70's absolutely loved Sauerkraut, being born German probably helped 😅my sister has also loved it all her life practically, and just one sniff all them years ago was enough for me, then i tried it at my sisters a few months ago and a kilo jar was gone in one week 😂🤣, just trying it with grated carrot and fennel this jar, and its amazing!. I started taking apple cider vinegar over a year ago also because of this channel 👌
Recipe please! Thanks ❤
Fasting is a good way to get your gut to produce more K2 and also helps remove plaque from your arteries.
Dr. Berg is the best!
Glad to be an inspiration.
Wow. I knew a bit about the microbiome but your video is packed full of information I didn't know. Thanks for sharing your knowledge Dr Berg.
I love your content and your a breath of fresh air knowing and applying a healthy lifestyle/diet being a modern doctor. Thank you! My family and I are grateful and I'm teaching my daughters to be proactive with diet regarding health. If only every doctor had and expressed this wisdom. Blessings and namaste ♥️🙏😇♥️💪🌎✌️♥️
I often buy pickles, sauerkraut (fermented foods), and after I’ve eaten all of it, I reuse the juices by adding other pickles & veggies to the juice & letting them soak in it before eating! Hate to waste that good fermented juice.
That's a good one.
I had mini strokes in my 20's. This helps tremendously.
Thank you for this insightful video, they don't teach us in med school, but every information is easily searchable and checks out.
I LOVE your sit down videos! It’s like I’m more focused than ever, as opposed to the white board that makes me feel like I’m in school
Superb video!
You’re a blessing brother.
Thanks again for sharing your knowledge.
Peace love and blessings!
Thank you very much. Happy to know that you like the video. Thanks for watching!
I do appreciate Dr. Berg's advice. I really do. Some of his tips have helped me to manage my chronic inflammation better. All the same, it is unfortunate that he recommends eating pork- of all the unclean things. The LORD tells us clearly what is good for us in Leviticus 11.
@@jvnd2785 He always offers multiple options.
Everyone has to find what works for themselves. It’s been a lot of trial and error for me. Pork doesn’t work well for me. Neither does beef. Sauerkraut is the bomb. I’ve cut out wheat, dairy, corn, etc. I have one meal a day. Usually chicken with onions, sauerkraut, guacamole. I eat raw garlic and ginger throughout the day and drink cabbage juice and electrolytes sometime during the day.
Listen to your gut instinct/intuition. It’s divine source guiding you 😃👍
i had the CAC test. I had a very high calcium score suggesting possible severe problems. Resting EKG fine, Stress test fine, finally MRI shows a somewhat enlarged aorta but blood flow fine. I feel good. Meanwhile, I love a lot of the things on your list such as yogurt and.saurkraut and hamburger and sausage and cheese. The calcium score may be an indicator of problems but don't panic if it is high.
Dr Berg there is a mixture of whole lemons, garlic and honey in Indian culture which says to clean the arteries. Can you make a video about it?
Indian culture is indeed very rich especially in the area of natural medicine.
Hi, how much and how often I can take this? Thanks
Hey Doc! YOU are wonderful! I plan to share your videos with everyone! God bless you!
I sometimes wonder if the good Doctor is a mind reader? I had just thought of this topic early morning today. Thank you Dr. Berg :)
I just Want to personally say thank you so much for your knowledgeable clear videos. Your contributions are THE BEST. I really appreciate your sharing.
You're welcome! It's great that you found the information helpful.
I buy organic and raw sauerkraut from the brands, Wildbrine and Simple Truth Organic. Just read the labels before you buy.
Damn I didn't know that about cheese. That's messed up
Are you telling me allhard cheeses are no good, dam i love brie and blue cheeses and camambert, i,ve heard they are all ful of k2??
@@paulbillington8290 You can eat those cheeses, just make sure you read the labels for preservatives, etc and ensure your cheeses are made from grass-fed animals or at least organic. Dr. Berg says his favorite cheese is brie in past videos.
Thank you Doctor. I'm 30 with semi-frequent chest pain in a recurring spot and have a feeling it is blockage/blood pressure related (diagnosed with hypertension). This video has connected a lot of dots for me, especially considering I have lots of GI issues as well. I have been having a craving for sauerkraut and pork hot dogs lately, I'm not even lying. I can't make this up. I spent 16 bucks last night on some quality pork dogs and a jar of sauerkraut. I really don't even like hot dogs/sausage. Scheduling an appointment with my PCP tomorrow for a CAC. Thank you.
How are you doing?
just boil some beef shanks and add some thai green chillis...pork is inflammatory because of how they are "farmed". Those hotdogs are sometimes added with milk. Avoid sugar. And did I mention commercial pork has growth hormones and are raised like those clean mice?

try eating: (salmon belly, has more fat, and will keep you full), (apples for whenever you're craving carbs) and drinking green tea or lemon water for a while. see if that works. plus 30 mins of exercise a day. track whatever u eat and how u feel afterwards. do a blood test on your liver and kidney and see where your liver and kidney stats should be.
oh yeah, go to bed early and have a peaceful mind. hate and anger will make it worse.
CostCo has a very good organic sauerkraut and I take the “SEED” probiotic supplement every day.
