Nice informative video. I just bought a Beach Hunter ID 300 used on line for $650 with a long handle sand scoop and a hard case for storage of the machine. Looking forward to spring, live on a private lake with 300 homes and a community club house and beach. I have a Whites XLT that I've hunted the beach at the end of the season and I know of one other guy who has hunted the beach but NOBODY has ever hunted IN the water. Let alone under the water from the beach out to the two swim rafts and this beach has been used as a private swimming area for members and guests since just before WW2.
Thanks for your assistance choosing a detector. I was getting very frustrated trying to select. I had picked up a different brand that did not work very well and I had to return. I think I am going with the White's
Just seal your coil covers up with a bead of silicone, no need to take it off and put it on all the time and risk eventually breaking the mounting ears on the coil. Silicone seals out all the water and sand so you dont have any falsing.
I got the BHID and seems to work fine in clay dirt....Make sure batteries are good, I had one battery go bad and the detector went crazy...I'm checking all my batteries before I put them into the BHID because you know they are a little rough putting in....I'm waiting for a trip to the beach and use it there.
This man speaks the truth ! I have a Surf PI and a Beach Hunter and Love them both ! Cool reviews ! They don't call it the Treasure Coast for nothing !
I'm a die hard white's fan myself, but I was wondering if these white's machines are better for the beach, or is the excallibur 2 the best? I ask this because i'm getting ready to purchase a beach detector.
I"m learning that!!! The other day I KNEW I was going to dig a tab (had dug about 20 already) but it turned out to be it was a nice ring!!!! So my philosophy is that after you dig at least 100 pull tabs, then the "metal detector gods" will give me something good! Kinda makes me happy to get pull tabs! Hahahahah!!!!!
I have a DFX AND LIKE IT, and it works ok at the beach, but I ordered a used Beachhunter on EBay waiting for it to come....I'm hoping this will work out better for me when I'm at the beach and also will try it off the beach...thanks for the video... I will be back let you know how it works out for me. God bless.
I just got an older classic Id beach hunter and noticed simuliar problem with its switch.. I to jumps out of all metal back to center position disc. Was wondering maybe the rubber seal on the togall switch is too stiff causing it. Also Is the box seal something that can be changed easy ? I purchased the newer orange seal off ebay . The detector currently has a black seal on it.

Thank you for your excellent review, it helped me make a decision on buying whites 300 over Minelab Exterra .
I truly found the only metal detecting guru on YT . Shure different from David Wolfe lol

If you want gold you gotta dig the trash. There's just no way around it. Nice upload. I might pick one up
