      GN and Buildzoid I really love these videos. Please make more of these regarding ASUS boards because they are the only ones I will buy due to the BIOS. After using ASUS BIOS for years and years its the only board vendor that I will buy from. GPU VRM analysis is also awesome, but please just focus on like FTW and other higher end card models. Nobody cares about a VRM for a 1050 ya know what I mean? Thanks for all the content!

      The "downside" for using doublers (in the case of a CPU) is pretty small, so doing away with them is more of a "because we CAN" coolness factor than an actual performance increase. Nevertheless, it WILL be (slightly) faster at responding to transients (although doublers are usually fast ENOUGH for CPU VID calls anyway). Still, very cool!
      Also, I thought the TDA21475 (as opposed to the 472 seen here) was the "latest and greatest" Infineon power stage? Did I miss something?

      There's money to be made, of course they give the state of the art product, AMD 3000 series will even go above Intel's current and previous pricing for their lineup, Ryzen 3000 series will be probably the most expensive pure "consumer" product, it technically is a HEDT Prosumer product at the Ryzen 9.

I was looking to swap from my current NZXT H500i to something with better airflow in preparation for Zen 2. There are a couple I’ve seen that interest me that supposedly have compatibility like the Lian-Li PC-O11 Dynamic and Fractal Design Meshify S2.

      @@WilliamRivera343 I will be using my View 71 (I also run a custom loop though so for me I just wanted a case with a lot of space for radiators). That said while my case supports E-ATX, the board will partially cover the grommets so I imagine my 24 pin and like the PCIe cables, sata, etc will be a very tight fit going through those grommets.
      I really like the Lian Li case because the grommets for the cable management are at an angle so I think it will probably look a bit cleaner in the end.

I have moved, i have deconstructed my system multiple times, i have used a vacuum cleaner on it, it has gone through thousands of power cuts etc. etc. The M/B is still more healthy than myself. I remember when ASRock used to svck but one of these days I'm going to try out one of their boards. The z370 Taichi is supposed to be a very good board but then again the Gigabyte z370 Aorus Gaming 7 is also very good. I used the z370 Aorus Gaming 7 in my sister's 8700k build and the only complaint I can think of is the lack of UEFI updates and the clunky UEFI interface. Otherwise it boots lightning fast and it's a pleasure to work with.

    @29:00 probably the best criticism that could be said. A riser cable would have to be used in this "case," which would be realistic for any sort of fan set-up to cool this just off of air as opposed to liquid. Doesn't this board come with an m.2 pcie4 card as well? Maybe use it for that if it fits.

  • @matt697845
    @matt697845 5 лет назад +3

    Just as he says, overkill for literally 99.9% of users even for the 3950x. This is figuratively like running a dedicated 30 amp circuit for a household toaster. Your'e better off spending significantly less on a more balanced motherboard and putting the difference toward things that actually matter like a higher SKU CPU, cooling solution & a faster graphics card. Given any decent motherboard, your OC result is going to depend almost entirely on the silicon lottery, your cooling solution & dialing in the correct BIOS settings, not throwing $550-$600+ at a motherboard... Apples to oranges comparison but my Asus Z390-E with its often ridiculed "8 phase" (actually 4x2) is able to run my 9900k @5GHz (maybe higher, haven't tried, no real need) Prime95 small FFT AVX for hours on end. Most people advise against that test as it is an unrealistic power virus, and yet a mid 4x2 phase range board is able to meet the power requirements under that test. Just my $0.02.

      L1Slayer yeah I shortly realized after this the price range this was going to fall under.
      I may stretch for it. I may not need all that power, but I really do want the rest of the features. I haven’t looked too much into the lower tier models, but I think a big thing for me is having 3 m.2 slots. The apparently really nice headphone amp is also a huge plus. It also looks amazing. But with the 3900x I should be able to get a modest overclock with something cheaper. I guess we’ll see. Not trying to go crazy on the cooling anyway

    Dual power connectors halve the impedance between the PSU and motherboard, as such I would expect the dynamic response of the power supply to be better at responding to load transients - especially when CPU boost varies per core.

  • @CrimsonRegalia

    Awesome vid. I wonder how much effort it really takes to design a board like this. If you think about it, over-engineering is easier than designing with reasonable safety factors where you really have to balance your risk assessments for every component is harder. Especially for a board like this where the only differentiator is the overbuilt VRM, much of the price is likely down to component cost and margins to cover lower expected demand compared to more reasonable models.
