  • just got my true dual straight pipes put on!! nothing done to the engine yet in this video
    (set up)
    -at this point in time, i had installed a TRUE DUAL exhaust system. (the pipes NEVER cross, the pipe comes off the manifold, then to the cats, then they run all the way back over the rear axle, then out.)
    -it is a 2.5 inch stainless steal piping that i had done at a local exhaust shop, total costs were $300 for everything out the door
    -2.5 stainless steal tip that was welded to the pipe

    yes i did!! right off he engine are the cats... then no joke, the pipes never connect to one another and run directly back from the cat the the bumper, however, i do have a CIA installed, i would assume that makes somewhat of a difference.

    Okay, got it. My pipes don't conjoin anywhere either. Living in Cali sucks for exhaust mods. Gotta have a cat, gotta have mufflers, etc. Oh, and I notice lower rpm with my setup too, bout 750 rpm when warm.

    i did this to my old 96 T-Bird V6, but they came out the side under the mirrors.... I blew up the heater core, pissed of everyone i went by, Little kids hated me, I mean EVERY one of them gave me the eat $hit and die look. but it was worth it lol.

    X pipe is for scavaging not back pressure and does help with performance

    hi steve! thanks for your comment! to be honest no i dont think it would void any warranties or anything of the like by going to a true dual system.. make sure that when you do this and a CAI at some point in time that you get a tuner system for the car it REALLY helps no joke!! check it out on american muscle my advice is not to take it to a dealer... they usually charge a lot more for the same amount/ quality of work! thank you for you interest sir!

    well i had to do A LOT of shopping around before i found a great guy to do it for a great price! so dont be afraid to barter a little bit with any shop, the shop i go to is wiling to bend a bit to keep my business, and because of that, they always get my business!! haha

  • @Christofoo
    @Christofoo  12 лет назад

    no sir! both tail pipes go from the manifold to the cats and straight back with out crossing at any point what so ever, both pipes go up and over the rear axle and to a tip. i really like your mustang though! very well done!

    As far as I know, what you have is divorced duels. Exhausts that have X or H pipes are also considered duels.

    Your pipes don't cross? Check out ours with mustang gt H pipe

    yup mine does right along with yours! i love in ohio and parts of ohio are going to e chacks for emissions, but my car is registered in a county that doesnt require that! thank you for sharing though!!! GREAT car!

    thanks, here are the videos if you want to want to watch them...version 1- open header style, this one caused the heater core to go during the recording of it.
    watch?v=FPfi9CyNnjA
    and version 2- SLR styled side pipes, had this one for one month before some bimbo called the cops and they sent a letter recommending me to fix it...

    did you like the sound? I have a true dual flowmaster system on mine, and am thinking of removing the mufflers.
    Was it too loud?
    Anything else?

  • @Nothing_Important671
    @Nothing_Important671 11 лет назад

    Would it sound any different if ya only had one muffler?

  • @Christofoo
    @Christofoo  12 лет назад

    after watching your videos though, you have mufflers, where as i do not "true dual straight pipes" refers to the non conjoining of the pipes and a muffler delete.

    Where did they source your tips? I like the idea of straight pipes on my V6 Mustang but not sure what to do about tips.

    Not sure about back pressure but standing idle at 800-1000rpm is high. My 05 v6 idles at about 600 after cold start and settles to about 450 after she warms up. I've got a K&N cai with a single magnaflow axleback exhaust. Not to talk shit about your car or your preferences but to me straight pipes on a daily driver is just loud and doesn't sound good. Honestly it sounds like a high school kid tryin to get attention from their car. However, your exhaust system does sound pretty good from what I can tell over cell phone speakers. #MustangNation #PonyLove

    Is that stereo an option or did you install yourself? Because I have the same one in my 05 v6 and nice exhaust!

    I got the same setup except on a 99, yes backpressure is a real thing and makes the car slower, my car lost to my friend's bone stock 4.0 and mine has a ported motor.

    Hey man, Great video! If you don't mind I'd like to ask a couple questions regarding exhaust mods as I haven't done anything to my 08 v6 yet and I'm new to this sort of thing:
    I asked my local dealer if I could put on an aftermarket muffler without voiding my factory warranties and they replied that any mods after the catalytic converter is fine. If that is the case, Am i free to convert my mustang to a true dual exhaust? Thanks for your time.
