Great video man! Definitely going to give the throttle body spacer a try. Sounds really good!
The first couple mods I did to mine was a cold air intake and throttle body spacer and exhaust and I was absolutely shook by how much I loved that sound
The induction noise sounds great and can be better!
did the throttle body spacer make any noticable power gain?
@nicholasbonfiglio820 I'd like to knowto, I have an 06 v6 speed im just starting to play with. I got a whiteline front and rear swaybar kit with heavy duty links im about to install. 359 bucks from a fab shop in NC, I couldn't believe it, it's 570 elsewhere.
@@nimrodpaul6875 what fab shop i’m in NC to
One mod I did that really made the intake whistle louder was a 5.0 v8 throttle body swap. It’s not a common mod but it’s an 80 mm tb compared to the stock v6 throttle body’s at 65 mm. The opening of the intake manifold is 73 mm which bbk makes the correct diameter tb but costs over $400. I bought a used 5.0 tb for $60, polished it up, and bought a $130 adapter plate as for the bolt patterns on the tb’s are different. I did have to buy a larger coupler to attach the tb to my cold air intake which everything equates to $200 and for the same results as a BBk tb
That was actually really useful! There’s a possibility I hit you up if I go this route. Thanks brotha! 💯
@@LoganScott. and I forgot to mention the adapter plate is on AMR’s website but I think American muscle is now carrying them
Yeah I was looking to upgrade too but that BBk 70mm for 350 be crazy. V8 throttle swamp? Your a genuis bro❤
Another thing with the v8 TB, you have ti cut the fins in the intake manifold behind the tb or the plate will hit them at wot but other than that you don’t even need a tune to make it work but it’s recommended of course
Did you notice any performance difference? Great share man!
Ford put a lot of effort into the cold air intake that came stock on these cars. An Airaid intake tube from the existing box with a high flow air filter worked well for me. It gets rid of that cheesy looking plastic, weird looking thing between the air intake and the throttle body that comes stock. Shorty headers and Borla S type axel backs make these 3.7's sound really good. MPT 93 octane tune is a nice upgrade too. You have a nice car man, enjoy it! I love my 2013.
The CAI works well for these cars stock or not. I’ve found that if the aftermarket one acts very similar to the OEM one without a proper tune, you’re more than likely spending money to have the sound. With a tune on the other hand I’ve found helps a little. Haven’t put it on a dyno to truly know though. Just the but dyno
Paper filter flows more than enough, but why did I never think of this. Stock air box and aftermarket tube, great idea.
I was just about to comment this as well all I did is get a AidRaid tube and a conal reusable filter from American Muscle. The stock box blocks out all the warm air from the engine bay and has a fresh air duct coming right from the right side of the grill into the closed box. Now I understand why people think the after market CAI sounds better is because it's open and you can hear the air sucking in but it's sucking in the warm air of the engine bay instead of getting that air being rushed in from the stock box of the of air filter box. If u want sound go ahead n buy a CAI. If u want function keep the OG box get a AirRaid tube and a reusable filter. I would recommend a dry 1 tho. Some times a oiled filter can suck some of that oil in and mess up things like the MAF sensor and bake the oil on the sensor n cause it to mis read and throw light. They do make dry reusable filters on American Muscle or CJ pony parts
@@codyfoster8730 Yep! Those after market cold air intakes are a joke. The stock box with the AirRaid tube and high flow filter is the way to go.
I have a 2013 race red with the premium and performance packages. It is a great car! I bought it 5 and a half years ago with just over 30,000 miles on it. It only has 59,000 on it now as it is not a daily driver. It has been a fun car to drive on weekends and trips. The performance package really makes the car ride well. The GT springs, struts and front shock tower brace keep body roll at a minimum. The 19 inch wider wheels and bigger brake calipers really make driving it fun. The manual trans and the 3:31gears are nice also.😎
I wonder if it’ll work on my 3.7 explorer lol. Gotta give it a try. I hope so. Really nice sounding mustang BTW. Very underestimated.
I wouldn’t see why it couldn’t! Def give it a try and thanks Mimi! Appreciate you watching 🖤
The Mustang sounds clean and looks amazing. Thanks for your help. I’m thinking about getting one. 🔥
Definitely a fun car! Needs a few thousand dollars to make it amazing!
Great video. Just purchased a 2004 v6 for my son for graduation. Cheaper insurance for a teenager. Need to learn ! Thk u
That’s awesome! Congrats to your son! 🥳🎓
Put the mafia turbo kit on that v6 u be gapping hella chargers and challengers look up how good that set up is 550 hp
I’ve looked into it before and I think they have amazing kits! Putting the V6 on the map! 🗺️
Sounds like you're down 2 cylinders
After a whole year of driving, I can confirm that’s not the case lol
The mods I did on my 4.0 V6 is cai, complete cat back exhaust mid x pipes and highflow cats, tune , transmission tune,. suspension mods and 100 shot Nitrous with a dual purge system.
Soooo happy to hear you have suspension to backup this power plant of yours 💪. Keep up the great work my man!
K&N intake, laced with HPS stickers. Shocked I didn't see a shelby emblem/badge somewhere.
Cause it’s not a Shelby? 😂
Unless your upper intake manifold is ported, that thing is not spinning any air, it literally just takes performance away. Any open box type intake will give you that sound. The car does sound pretty good though!
If I did lose any performance, I haven’t noticed cause the car is slow af anyway haha. Thank you!
@@LoganScott.Lol, my 06 v6 is to,, the 5 speed helps my testosterone a little bit lol
Just purchased 07 trying to get a better understanding of these mods. Very informative.
Enjoy 🤟
07, totally different v6 to this one, your 4.0 is much harder to tune.
@@markkram9940 okay thanks
What Does the strut tower brace help with? Thk u . Have subscribed.
From what I’ve noticed, it really helped with body roll and better turning response. The front strut tower brace made the most noticeable difference (by itself) while with a rear brace, along with the front brace, really tied the car together really well to help eliminate the swaying and side to side movement of the car. Felt more planted to the pavement
Thank you thank you 🤙🏼🤙🏼
Car sounds amazing bro! The exhaust and the intake!!! Great video!
You’re awesome bro, thank you!
Great car. Where can i find what exhaust system you installed. Thanks.
Other than the shorty headers and cutouts, everything else was purchased in-person 😬. Shorty’s are from Amazon or eBay (there is a video of it), h-pipe was custom, cutouts are from SPELAB, and the mufflers were purchased at a shop
Probably a dumb question but, you were motioning like air went from the intake and throttle body area to the intake filter. 😮 You didn't mean that did
You’re correct. At the time of this video, I mixed up my words and didn’t correct myself. I didn’t notice the error till after people mentioned it.
The spit cracked me up
Can I apply these mods to my 2011 ford edge spot since we have the same engine?
If it has the same engine, I wouldn’t see why not? Although, there’s a chance you might run into fitment issues. I’m not entirely sure the layout of the 2011 edge and don’t want to give you the wrong info. Just my opinion.
Great video, subbed, i have an 06 v6 5speed which makes it a bit more fun. Considering a cai and bama tuner. Already have the front n rear whitelins swaybar kit and heavy duty links but not installed yet. Is there a cai youd recomend and are they noticable for any performane gain ( with and without a tune)? Any help appreciated, im brand new to v6 world and electronics,, 1970 small blocks i know lol.
Thanks Paul! That makes me soooo stoked you have a few suspension components! It’s extremely underrated and so worth the money. No matter if you have a 4, 6, or 8 cylinder, you can never go wrong with suspension.
On a side note, I would definitely look into a tune for your V6 if you plan on keeping it for a while. It wakes up the car and paired with a pedal commander (ruclips.net/video/E14JHK3mS7M/видео.html) realllyyyy helps with that sticky ass throttle. Night and day difference.
The CAI honestly didn’t do much other than put a smile on my face. Made a slightly deeper tone in the exhaust, added some induction noise and on top of that gave a slight (and I mean slight) boost in lower end torque tested on my butt dyno. I noticed the change when paired with the tune. You’ll honestly be wasting your money if you buy it with no tune. Made no difference if you had the factory air box in or not in my opinion.
@LoganScott. thanks for reply man, watched the vid in link, chirps rubber all day , im considering a jlt or bbk cai with a Bama tuner,,, either way it's around 700 for both. I think it'll drive nice when I get the whiteline package installed. I'm going look into the pedalcommander, never heard of it. Thanks
Did you put the cold intake on yourself or took it somewhere? Where do you purchase your parts?
I installed it myself and purchased the CAI on AutoAnything.com a few years ago
@@LoganScott. do you have a video of install? If so, would you consider uploading please!
@@CG-jt9th if you shop on American muscle pretty much every intake you can buy has a video on how to install, they aren’t every difficult to install either at most you need is a socket set, a flat head screw driver and some Allen keys
Your custom h pipe, is it done by a shop or did you buy a lethal performance catless h pipe and kept the cats? Because i want to do that but i don’t want it sounding wonky if done wrong
I have a video dedicated to it! I had mine done at a shop and it was a great investment in my opinion. I have other videos as well where you can hear it with a muffler or muffler delete

The brace? Aftermarket. Some models came with them but mine didn’t either

Como de bien filtra las partículas ese filtro de cono ? Es seguro o acorta la vida del motor
I couldn’t tell you to be honest. I got it because it sounded good 🤣. I haven’t noticed a difference in poor engine performamce
Hey Logan! I really enjoy what you have done to your mustang and hope I can do the same with mine! Did you change the throttle body itself or kept the stock one?
Thanks brotha! I appreciate you watching! The throttle body is stock and don’t plan on swapping it. Personally not sure if the price is worth the return. I could be wrong 🤷🏼♂️
Yeah so I’ve been saving for a 2014 v6 mustang, but I’m not sure if that’s what you had or if I it can fit the same parts you mentioned.
Not sure what you mean but a lot of the parts from a 5.0 to a v6 are compatible. Only difference really is the motor and the brain behind it. I think you’ll really enjoy the Stang once you get your hands on one. With the right mods, you’ll have a lot of fun!

I was thinking about getting a bigger throttle body for my v6 camaro it’s the LGX engine not the LFX.
I was curious on how the k&n air intake and the Edlebroc 1.7L supercharger would bolt up, what would I have to do to make this work?
Wish I could help but I would be lying if I told you I knew my friend 🤷🏼♂️.
What's the name brand for the exhaust, is it a cat back or axle back, thx
The axle back is from Flowmaster. I think it’s the FX series, but I could be wrong. Not the biggest fan of it but it does well with shorties, cats, and an h-pipe
Hey Logan. Im new to this car modification thing and I got a question. Did you tune your car after putting the cold air intake, exhaust system and other stuff?
I tuned the car after adding the “hot” air intake and before adding the rest of the exhaust modifications.
I have a 2013 v6 base mustang... it looks great and runs well but it ...don't sound like a mustang..it's really quiet....I got it from carvana in July of last year....it's just quiet?.. I guess that bothers me
My man, here are a few videos, I created, to help you determine what setup is best for you! You may like it or you may not. Although, this will help you narrow down what sounds good and what doesn’t for you.

would this be too loud if i put the exhaust, throttle body spaced, and a bbk cold air intake? what type of exhaust did you use as well? great sound!
Stock exhaust pipe from the cat all the way back with the exception of the H-pipe. Car is not overly loud but can get loud when you want it too haha. You might notice a slight change in exhaust tone because I have shorty headers. Not sure if you do as well.
@@LoganScott. haha nope not yet, im not 16 yet and have my car already, got a 2000 v6 mustang, i love it and want to make it sound good without sinking a bunch of money it, while adding more power. what i have planned as of now is flowmaster force 2 exhaust, bbk cold air intake, and now the throttle body spacer after seeing this vid. but don’t really want to replace the headers quite yet, cause i don’t want to pay for the tune, and i don’t think i would need a tune for the exhaust, intake, and spacer would i?
@@LoganScott. mine is also bone stock and has the stock y pipe
@@LoganScott. do you think mine would sound similar or at least sound good? i love the sound of this mustang. sorry i’m kinda new to this stuff still 😂
@@GageWoolum the little v-6in that new edge only makes 190 at the crank. Truthfully I’d you can’t afford a gt get a 4.6 v8 from a crown Vic or something else that little six is a money pit and no horse power potential. I had one just for the body built a v8 drag car out of it. Also if you do keep it make it a true dual exhaust it helps the sound on these so much

I don’t remember at the top of my head but I can find out!
Where did you get the decklid
I bought it off CJ pony parts, but I wouldn’t recommend it. Reason is because mine came wrapped and I didn’t notice till it was too late to return it. Not saying they’ll all be that way, but I pulled the lucky card on this one :/
ruclips.net/video/fwQ-p_v1Rak/видео.htmlsi=RtgshZqwxal4aWDD
I see you have a shorty headers! My question dose headers change the sound or make louder and nicer
Helps take away the rasp and gives a slightly deeper tone. Definitely notice it at lower RPM’s and cold starts. As for it being loud, not much of a difference tbh
Yoo bro I have a knock or a tick coming from my engine I posted the video on my page do you think you take a look at it and probably tell me what it could be? Im a lil worried haha. It’s a 2013 v6 mustang, thank you!!!!!!
Many V6 mustang owners have brought this issue to the media’s attention from the research I’ve done and from experience, I discovered my ticketing coming from the purge valve located on the top of the engine. I could very well be wrong but I noticed when I changed my purge valve, the ticketing reduced significantly.

There are a few on eBay from multiple sellers that are similar
Yo logan have you or anyone know if you’ve been pulled over for the front while led side markers like the ones that come stock yellow I have some organge leds rn but I want to change them to white leds
Not a single issue. In the state of Nevada, drivers are allowed to have white or amber lights in the front of their car. I even have my blinkers set to white
I keep hearing that a cold air intake is not recommended for me since I live in Phoenix,AZ with 120° temps and how that could seize my engine?? Would I stick with a regular performance filter ?
I live in Vegas and it gets just as hot out here as it does in Arizona. Cold air intakes aren’t really the most ideal way to increase horsepower unless you have a tune that’s paired along with it. If you don’t plan on getting a tune, I personally think keeping the factory intake and filter is the best thing you can do to save money. I never heard of an engine seizing from a CAI but what I will say is do you homework and ensure it’s made for your car before you buy anything. Don’t cheap out. Hope that helps
What exhaust do you have

Basically gotta do everything I did to my '04 to my '14 😭
Haha
Love ur chin lip bro..where did you get it?

Why not just get a larger throttle body instead of a spacer? That way you get the power and the sound.

I can’t argue that 😂
Did you notice any performance gain?
Hey sounds kinda like my v6 mustang😆
Ironic right? 🤣
2:08 That's a hot air intake bud.
Agreed
Lol when you think an air IN take pushes air out 🤦 also I don't think id consider a squeaky intake a good noise 😋 A for effort tho you'll learn intime
Looking back at it, I can see where my demonstration could get slightly confusing for some people. Obviously the air gets sucked in but through the video, I was mainly describing the variety of parts that makes that noise. If you don’t like it, that’s fine! Everyone has their own personal taste and I can respect that.
Lol yeah that's bad ass sound lol 😅
I like to think so
I'm glad for everyone that enjoys the V6 but I just think the quieter the better so I don't have to hear that giant farting sound .
Fair enough 🤣
@@LoganScott. But I do admit that a 3.7 with a turbo is pretty potent and makes a great sleeper which is my favorite type of daily driver . There's just something about a stock looking and sounding V6 Mustang that eats Camaro SS's for lunch that I love .
I have to hear that farting sound from my wife, she hasn't been modified,... I don't think she has anyway.
Really nice sound indeed i just bought a 1996 sn95 v6 mustang already got an cold air intake but i think the sound can be better.
Lots of room for improvement! Once you start, you won’t wanna stop haha

Needs a tune
Diablo I3 91 octane 😉
Keep it stock. That is the best way.
Ew
If these idiots wouldn't charge around $300 for a pipe and a filter it would be tempting to put an intake on my 4.0.
$300 is absurd…For that price, you can get so many other useful mods that will actually make a difference other than sound
@@LoganScott. I spent $400 on an entire engine rebuild kit for my 4.0 was gunna get a cold air intake but that's the average price of ebay cold air intakes ( between 200 and 300) which is dumb cause a piece of PVC with a hole cut in it for the mass air sensor and an aftermarket round filter do the job for like $50.
worse is the clutch kits prices I don't get how ford made more v6's than 8's yet the parts for the 6 are nearly double the price of the 8 for some parts.
And now mustang comes with an i4 ecoboost
I’ve heard negative things about it but I want to experience it for myself. Honestly wanted one at one point because of the turbo
I dont care about the look right now im just trying to get it to yell at people as i drive by 😅
Dont get scamed. The Thotle body spacer is Just a waste of money. Buy a better Throtle Body and thats it
I didn’t feel scammed 🤷 I like it actually
Wheres the badass sound?
Car sounds awesome ill never do it heres why
1- Mustangs are ticket magnets why wake up Barney Fife
2- where i live they are installing db sound cameras soon they will be all over .... at 800 bucks a pop why pay Barneys salary
3- my 4.0 stock Burns rubber i can pretty much stock beat anything 3.0 or less on the road in a quartermile stock i can run pretty close to GTs
4- this is why I keep my Harley Stock pipes and Mustang Stock
Less tickets equals lower insurance and less chance of theft
Equals more money in my pocket and as time goes by with ALL mustangs reach the 25 year mark car goes up in value especially if its Stock
But hey, i was young once, too. im not bashing you or the car this is America, sort of, except these days, loud motors are not, shall i say, politically correct 😢
With the money i save, I'll get me a boat soon ....
Bevore and bevore
Hot air intake
😂
Unlike some CAI systems, the Air Raid model for my 2014 V6 actually retains the factory lower duct work to feed
outside air to the filter, and closing the hood seals off the unit from the engine compartment heat.
Throttle body spacer 🤣🤣🤣🤣 seriously? It's 2023
Next year is 2024 and I’ll still have it on. Sounds sick! 🤟
@@LoganScott. show me proof it isn't something else that was changed in the intake system and maybe I'll apologize.
Nothing was changed and no need to apologize Blue! Only thing that wasn’t included in the video (from what I can remember) is the inside end of the intake manifold was shaved smooth. I don’t believe it made any difference to the sound or performance of the car though. Just an experiment I wanted to try. With the exception of the intake, throttle body spacer, tune and a slightly modified exhaust system, everything is OEM.

Enjoying your videos . Your Stang is clean ! On a side note the intake flows into the engine not out. So the filter takes the air into the throttle body and spacer and into the intake manifold. Great content! I’m subscribed.
@@veezybee23 All love Veldee! I have a hard time describing things in videos sometimes (for whatever reason that is) but I def agree with you.
