I like that you started to touch base on all mustangs, upper and lower than GTs. This strategy will help you gain popularity and base for your channel. I enjoy your content, good luck.
Thanks for this video. The tune and cold air are definitely what's needed before anything else. MPT is a good tuning company. I use their PRX 91 (Performance Extreme) tune with a drop in K&N air filter for my 2016 Mustang 3.7 V6. She went from mild to wild, especially in sport mode. With 3.15 final drive it has top end for days. I told customer service what I wanted and they delivered. I asked for a Ford Interceptor kind of tune, and they recommended Performance Extreme. They even caution you about running it for street use.
You mentioned intakes manifolds for V6's and their actually is an option for 3.7L V6's you can get ported factory intake manifolds and their good for around 15RWHP on an actual dyno.
Should also look at the actual graph of a dyno tune with cold air intake if it makes more power it's only at the very top like the last couple hundred RPM and often that difference is so small it's really negligible if it's even really making more power if you want it for looks or sound great but I personally think it's huge waste of money
Sorry I'm going to try to make this short colder intakes or garbage just look it up if they make power it's only in the last couple hundred RPM at the top end It's good for sound and looks with these Ford mod motors just save up ad boost That's really the only thing that's really worth it power wise It's expensive yes but it's worth it and stop trying to add up numbers that you read online oh colder and take at seven horsepower and another one says oh this tuner has 15 and another one says oh these headers add 20 so that means I have 42 horsepower no it doesn't. Often those numbers aren't even real first they are it's under perfect circumstances and just know it doesn't
Power at the top is what you want...it isnt huge gains by itself but its 300 bucks man not every mod is as big a bang for your buck as a tune but that doesn't make them worthless. The intake is going to help more if you have an upgraded Intake manifold, long tubes and exhaust and cams etc. The more mods you got the more you're gonna need a larger intake otherwise its going to hold you back. I hate when ppl get on here and repeat what others said or make blanket statements like "cold airs do nothing" that is a bs blanket statement. There are alot of different options and not all of them are a waste and it also depends how modded you are. All the mods go hand in hand to help each other make the most power. Just an intake and tune on a stock car sure an intake may not make a huge difference by itself but its still a few ponies in the upper rpms I dont know what you guys expect for 300 bucks. What is it supposed to do add 200 hp? Lol. It also looks cool and sounds cool and will set you up more efficiently for future mods and it usually improves mpg too. Longtubes help an intake make more power same with cams and intake manifold etc...all that makes your engine more efficient and make it flow more air and make more power. The more modded your car is the more important these things become they all go hand in hand. So don't make blanket statements like that.

If you have a 18’+ mustang gt DO NOT get a aftermarket cold air intake. the stock one is as good as it gets. the aftermarket will get you better dyno numbers but that’s about it.
@@MustangGuy1996 for me, in most cases your car will respond well to the dyno with a cai. but that performance won’t replicate on the streets. keep in mind most dynos are indoor, strapped up, fans running etc. ofc you’re gonna record 5+ hp gain. take it out on an actual street and you may honestly lose power. so if you just want a dyno sheet that has as much power as possible listed go for it. but for most of us that just want a fast car I’d recommend skipping a cai and spending/saving money on better options tune, boost, cooling, SUSPENSION etc. hope this helps.
I would add l&m intake only cams to that list for 900 bucks they really help the cj shine and visa versa...also get the cj ported that is worth 20-25 whp combined which is obviously very significant when na.

Chassis weight reduction is less efficient than unsprung weight reduction. Every 1lb of unsprung weight dropped is equivalent to 4-5lbs of chassis weight. Just dropping 10lbs each corner of wheel weight can be the equivalent of dropping 115-130lbs total of chassis weight. And that will free up HP not being sucked to just turn the wheels, but it will make the handling more responsive so its one of the most efficient ways to go faster in general. Some of the easiest ways to further reduce sprung or chassis weight is exhaust. Just removing resonators, moving to a lighter weight tubing and mufflers, and if desired removing cats, can save several dozen lbs. And while it doesnt effect overall curb weight as much, lightening rotational mass across the motor with lightweight flywheels, underdrive pulleys, and lightweight 1pc driveshafts will reduce mechanichal loss of power between the crank and wheels, significantly improving power/weight ratios. From that point, unless your building a dedicated track car, the gains youll see from stripping weight from interior panels and accessories starts getting into significant diminishing returns as you lose a lot of comfort. Rear seat delete and lighter weight racing seats in front would be about as far as a street car would need. As far as power the best mods are intake, throttle body, manifold (preferably ported), previously mentioned pulleys, cams, long tube headers, free flowing exhaust, and a tune. Certainly FI is a huge bump in power but the main thing people are finally coming around to again is whether its worth chasing a high WHP number if you cant realistically use that power. The Demon Redeye has that problem. Keiichi Tsuchiya took one out onto a track and the drift king himself couldnt use the car fully because it simply made more power than it needs. With the S197 and S550, the best option really is to maximize stock potential through bolt ons and tuning, making good choices in reducing HP loss between the crank and wheels, and then going hard on suspension. You will have a much faster car with 450-500whp that has a well thought out and executed suspension build than a 700whp car with bare minimum upgrades to suspension. Remember, the S197 and later Mustangs are TRUE sports cars, not just muscle cars. Live rear or IRS, they are designed to be DRIVERS cars not just drag cars like muscle cars in the past (SN95 was a 30yr old chassis). So when modifying them its smart to look at the ways that people make vehicles like Nissans, Hondas, and Toyotas go fast, which often times is finding the balance between power and handling cuz those imports proved on tracks time and again that even with lower HP numbers, if you can deliver that power efficiently and carry that speed through a corner, youre gonna be faster than someone with twice the power and less stability. Now if youre building a drag car, absolutely drop all the weight, make all the HP, and focus on getting out of the trap asap. But if youre driving your car on the street, balance will end up in more smiles per gallon than a dyno graph. Power doesnt always mean speed and speed is what gives the fizz.
Terry Kissinger I have the BMR performance springs because that SRA over bigish bumps in a turn would let the back end skirt. Huge improvement after the lowering springs!!! 😁 (see the video on the channel)
Dude i honestly love your channel , i recently picked up a manual ( babied) 2013 5.0 and you having the exact same car as me really shows me how amazing my can look🤙 keep doin what your doin man
I have a 2014 GT/CS and i am running jlt series 2 cai and boss 302 intake, about to send my intake off to get ported, still need to work on my suspension, because it definately doesn't want to plant it, 20 roll it will blow the tires off.
Another thing the tunes do, and I’m surprised you didn’t mention this, they will pretty much disable your emissions control system. Allowing better ratios, timings, etc. but your car will not pass smog if you are in CA. Also, if you tune your car, dealers are dicks about it. If you do it post 36k then fine, but if you do it prior, you must remove the tune from the car before bringing it to Ford. Their computers they plug into the ODB2 read the last two tunes of the ECU IIRC. Also, if you disable the speed limiter, keep in mind the driveshaft can fail on the S197 V6 models over 130mph. The cars are limited to 118mph.
That’s why the made the back wheels tucked in so much so everyone would hate the look and got bigger wheels and tires making it look better and adding traction
Love it - only advice I would give is to work the rear suspension FIRST, then do all the go-fast mods. Ford should be embarrassed with what they did with the factory rear suspension on the S197. (Can't comments on the S550 because, well, who cares).
It actually works fine stock. I mean I haven't had any problem with it. I would however upgrade it if putting a blower on the car, but wouldn't anyone?
And what would you recommend? I have lower control arms, drop brackets that I still havent installed. Its lowered 1.5” and Im running the ford performance blue shocks& struts like the tokiko blues. Should they be set stiff or firm for doing digs?
2013 GT with Barton short shifter, cortex single adjustable coilovers, watts link, Eibach springs, sway bars, Lower control arms... Wilwood brakes.. 18 x 10 rims squared.. Nitto NT01 Track or Falken azenis RT616 k + street 275/35r18 Next a tune.. Than 302 boss intake 85 mm throttle body and cold air intake and tune... Race seat?? Rear seat delete?? Half cage??? Or maybe just a tune and have more money for track days.. Mustangs are bad ass... And I'm an old man...
Tune is where the power is, cai is absolutely not needed on any car with basic mods. Stock filter flows more than enough. The only real way to make these cars, any car, faster is port and polish so it can breath better and tune. Wider tires to hook, and maybe gears.
They can actually make some power with turbos theyre fairly strong I've seen upwards of 400 rwhp on stock 3.8s with boost and with how light they are they could def be a legit contender. Be different dont follow the masses or seek their approval. Good luck!!
Hey bro thanks for the ton of info 👍 looking into purchasing a tuner for my 2015 V6 mustang and was wondering if u have any recommendations. As mentioned in this vid I shop at all the 3rd parties u mentioned too and trying to select a tuner has it's challenges since there's so many to choose from. My stang is a 15' v6 with AiRaid cai , lethal performance cat delete , flowmaster outlaw X pipe and mufflers and stage 4 clutch 💪 thank you again bro 🙋🏻♂️
Hey what’s good everybody? I’m going to be purchasing a 2014 Mustang Gt manual very soon, I currently have a 4 cylinder Toyota Camry. I know a big upgrade from the 4 cylinder, should I be fine, any tips ?
i'm going to change the gears in the rear end of my 2012 mustang do you think i should get a driveshaft as well or will the stock one handle the torque difference? thanks
@@JacobRDoty exactly. I would have never known about it unless my wife told me. I dig the leather ocean and sandalwood. Gives it more of an ambience when the bald eagles cry.
You really should only be using bias ply slicks on manual cars since you’re transferring all the weight to the rear wheels from a launch. You can run a drag radial with an auto or if you have a built rear end.
For na get some ported intakes upper and lower...then do a larger throttle body to take advantage of the additional airflow provided by the ported upper and lower intake manifolds and a cold air intake to go along with it go with the aem closed box one...do longtube headers no cats and full 2.5 inch exhaust of your choice and get a tune by lund. If its auto do a stall and maybe 331 gears in place of stock 273 if its manual go 373 gears. This is a good start power wise add some wider fatter tiree and wheels etc etc. Those cars are respectable modded correctly even light mods like i described can at least get you deep into the 12 second quarter mile range. Good luck.
If you want more on top of that down the road auto mafia racing sells a full turbo kit for those cars for 6 grand add that to what you already got. The stock engine can handle 500-600 rwhp in stock formats with a turbo that is super impressive and as good/better than most ford best prior to the gen 2 and 3 coyotes and shelbys and terminators outside of those no other mustang can handle that kind of power on stock motor the 11-17 3.7 deserves alot more respect than what it gets.
@@michaelharris748 recommendations on 2010 mustang v6? Just got it as my first car and learning a lot on parts and what not, as far as I know the car has a cold air intake and has had an exhaust mod and muffler delete. I’ve talked to a few friends and they believe headers, throttle body spacer for the cold air intake, spark plugs, should be on my list for first mods?
@@michaelharris748 Good advice. I've got a 2014 3.7 automatic that I've been wondering if I should mod up or look for a manual which I'd prefer. Mainly for street driving and drag racing at the track. Your advice sounds like a good place to start tho if I decide to keep it.
I have a 2010 GT. Kind of had to rush into car purchase. Always wanted a mustang after I test drove the baddest car I've ever driven back in 2010. It was a 2003 Cobra with a whole lot of work on it. So I seen this 2010 GT and thought I could get it to that point....but realistically I feel like I wasted my money. Currently it has X pipes, CAI, and McLeod street extreme pro clutch. I'm looking to get advice on what else I can do to it to make it a beast. Part of me says trade it in for a 5.0 and put my money into that because I'll realistically never get it to the point where mustangs are at now. Any advice? I obviously want a supercharger. Then I want to get a short throw shifter and 4:10 gears. But I'm also not a car guy but really want to learn
problem is, if you want to supercharge but don't want to throw a rod or break the crank, you gotta build up the internals which costs over 20 grand. that's what keeps me from doing it. save that money away from the 5.0 there's plenty Chevy's that are faster. I personally am not going to buy a performance car for my next car.
I would swap it or get something else if you do mod the original motor go turbo they can be decent quick with turbo setups look it up...otherwise I wouldn't bother with it.
Hot air intakes are 💩 Boost Fuel Tune Suspension Weight Reduction Traction And ported intake manifolds. Yes… there are some for V6. Longtube headers if Supercharged.
Cobra jet is what the boss was supposed to be before the bean counters screwed it up with a small opening and single bore throttle body mount the cj is otherwise identical outside of the opening and the ability to run the twin bore or big oval tbodies. This is what gives the cj the advantage over all other intakes including the boss...the cj is the no holds barred max performance version of the boss manifold.
Does balancing the weight help? I drove once with someone about the same size as me on the passenger seat and it felt faster than when I'm driving alone.
They wont on a stock car. But when you got aftermarket throttle body and intake manifold or ported manifolds and longtubes and exhaust with a tune that air intake will help alot more at that point its all about the whole package. People think because an intake only gains a few hp on a bone stock car that somehow makes them not worth getting. All the mods help and when used together all of them will do a little more than they would on their own. How do you think people get 500 rwhp out of na coyotes with a cj setup and cams? They didnt get well over 100 whp from just the cj and cams i know that for a fact. The intake and throttle body and longtubes and exhaust all have something to do with it...they all help one another make maximum power when used together
Michael Harris well headers are good for about 30 whp(especially when you get rid of those hp robbing cats) and are an actual mod that does what your saying(makes more difference the more power you have). The cobra jet is good for about 35 whp, it increases flow and volume of runners and allows massive amounts of air available to the engine... not miniscle like a 5mm increase in Tb size or a cold air which is exact same as stock air box. Cams are good for about 35 whp. “Cold” air intakes make your engine look nice ig but that’s about it. Not worth the money.
Coyote Des forced air induction with a quality tune does increase horsepower and a cat does not reduce horsepower in any way as long as your using a high flow one! I’ve seen the numbers and proof really not sure where you get your numbers from but ok!
The real Spidey numbers from dyno sheets, proven with testing on these beautiful mexico streets. I was talking about stock cats, on coyotes they make you lose about 20whp, high flow cats make you lose a small amount like 5-10whp. Off road pipe aka cat less pipe will make the most power. It’s not rocket science, anytime you restrict flow on an exhaust you make less power, hence the 9 second N/A coyotes all run open headers. Less resistance.
Full carbon fiber body full carbon fiber frame carbon fiber rims no from bumper no hood no rear bumper no trunk AWD carbon fiber driveshaft rear seat delete passenger seat delete should dramatically reduce the weight
It isnt really just mt82 its any manual they say it isnt wise to launch hard on drag radials tires with a stick from a dig. It can be done if you can drive and have sense and know how to slip a clutch but it isnt widely recommended to everyone who wants to go out and do a straight 6000 rpm clutch dump coming off the line lol.

Never just take or do whatever 1 person say!Always either RUclips or call auto shop or mechanical shop to get multiple opinions!! Because these upgrades r just that options and most these people on you tube get paid to recommend parts and accessories and it's not always correct especially for your make and model!!
My question is it's worth spend so much moneis for modification if you don't racing on the track with car for just street road it's a lot of$$$$$
You forgot the procharger supercharger for the 10-14 V6
Having money is step 1
please help me find a steering wheel likew yours
Is it worth it to add mods to a 2014 3.7 automatic?
Absolutely! It’s still a Mustang and should be enjoyed to the fullest.
100 hp worth of stickers 💯😂
Yeah every sticker adds like five horsepower
Just bought my first one, pick it up Monday. I coming from a BMW so we shall see
I just want a procharger for xmas
Tuned 3.7 honestly , same
You chose one of the most expensive gifts out there
Rodi Perez it’s the only thing I need now 🥺
Turbo* but yeah
@@ddoublec936 there is a thing such as a procharger lol Imo better than turbo
Thoughts on larger throttle body (73mm) for S197's over stock? gains etc?
Did you ever put a video on how to “fix” the “body roll” of the car? I remember you mentioning how these cars tend to have that “issue”
Get your self a nice set of fully adjustable sway bars ;) helps with body roll
A little spinning will keep you from snapping your axle though lol
That's hot rodding. Then get stronger axles. Lol
I have AM blk 18in rims with Pirellis
I just got a 13 gt cali special 6 speed and I have many questions for you. Love your channel!
Make that four options change the ring and pinion gears
I wanna make a 2001 mustang as best it can be soon I just acquired and fixing it ; gonna start watching your channel for guidance
2013 GT with Barton short shifter, cortex single adjustable coilovers, watts link,
Eibach springs, sway bars, Lower control arms...
Wilwood brakes..
18 x 10 rims squared..
Nitto NT01 Track or
Falken azenis
RT616 k + street
275/35r18
Next a tune..
Wider tires to hook, and maybe gears.
just a little information to an old video.
Use a bias ply drag tire with mt-82
or drop 4k and upgrade to magnum xl trans
Is that the steering wheel from DynaPerformance?
Note* the only cai that has shown proven gains on the v6 is the steeda stock airbox ftw
Dont forget tires(gotta have that grip)and gear swaps.
Is it worth it to throw a turbo on a 99 v6? Anybody know? Around how much power I could make?
I know “iTs a v6” but my v6 it’s really nice looking so I wouldn’t mind making it a little faster.. please let me know guys
They can actually make some power with turbos theyre fairly strong I've seen upwards of 400 rwhp on stock 3.8s with boost and with how light they are they could def be a legit contender. Be different dont follow the masses or seek their approval. Good luck!!
Your car is beautiful dawg
Your advice is well appreciated. Thoughts on the VMP blowers?
Who sings that music at the end?
Just bought a 10 4.0 three days ago. I’m an idiot.
You forgot about the gains from adding stickers
Hey what’s good everybody? I’m going to be purchasing a 2014 Mustang Gt manual very soon, I currently have a 4 cylinder Toyota Camry. I know a big upgrade from the 4 cylinder, should I be fine, any tips ?
Where did you order your dash kit ?
i'm going to change the gears in the rear end of my 2012 mustang do you think i should get a driveshaft as well or will the stock one handle the torque difference? thanks
Doty did Bath and body works get rid of their air fresheners?
Tunefully nope
Nope I get mine from there because they have the best scents that don’t just smell like a used car lot
@@JacobRDoty exactly. I would have never known about it unless my wife told me. I dig the leather ocean and sandalwood. Gives it more of an ambience when the bald eagles cry.
Cleanest gt
What's the percentage of your tint?
YES
What were the recommended wheels for the rear on a s550?? Something slicks. Not sure what the name was plz hlp
A bias ply slick!
You really should only be using bias ply slicks on manual cars since you’re transferring all the weight to the rear wheels from a launch. You can run a drag radial with an auto or if you have a built rear end.
El Coyote does an auto transfer the weight to the front wheels or what lol
Would getting a watts link be something to think about ???
I want that steering wheel.
I have a v6 2014 mustang and I honestly don't know what to start on making it faster can u guys help me out?
@@michaelharris748 and it’s also a coupe 4.0L, heard they don’t get liked much 😂 really just wanna make it as fast as I can and as mean sounding
@@michaelharris748 Good advice. I've got a 2014 3.7 automatic that I've been wondering if I should mod up or look for a manual which I'd prefer. Mainly for street driving and drag racing at the track. Your advice sounds like a good place to start tho if I decide to keep it.
I hv subscribed. Want to take baby steps to get more power. Hv a v6 2004?
@@wiselinkmarque3947 I no longer have the 2010 GT. I have the 2019 GT 10sp now
What’s a good brand clutch and flywheel for a 11 v6
I am losing power going uphill. Please help.
Hey how did you get that yellow seat belt? Where did you get that??
Can anyone recommend me to a good page for the 2010 GT drivers?
Kind of off topic; but do you plan on swapping your seats for leather and or Recaros?
Definitely working on something for seats 👀
Interesting👀 I’ll definitely stay tuned. Keep on making amazing content 👌🏽💯🐐
@@JacobRDoty i recommend the leather recaros over the clith having owned both
what are my best options for a 01’ v6
Absolutely nothing. Save and get a really Mayans
I would swap it or get something else if you do mod the original motor go turbo they can be decent quick with turbo setups look it up...otherwise I wouldn't bother with it.
Hot air intakes are 💩
Boost
Fuel
Tune
Suspension
Weight Reduction
Traction
And ported intake manifolds. Yes… there are some for V6.
Longtube headers if Supercharged.
Do you have a link for those carbon fiber trims?
What size headers you have on?
Stock
What wheels are those?
That's why you just start off with a fox body for a car you wanna race. So much lighter than modern cars
what is that on your dashboard ??? device ?
What do you recommend for low oil engine knock? 2013 by manual
Put more oil in it. Lmao
Are H&R springs not good for a 2104 Gt Mustang?
I think they fine
What kind of steering wheel is that?
What tune should I get for my v6 mustang
u find out?
What steering wheel is that?
Send it till you have a window in the block😤😂
Power to weight, u hit it on the nail.
Do a cobra jet vs boss 302 video
Cobra jet is what the boss was supposed to be before the bean counters screwed it up with a small opening and single bore throttle body mount the cj is otherwise identical outside of the opening and the ability to run the twin bore or big oval tbodies. This is what gives the cj the advantage over all other intakes including the boss...the cj is the no holds barred max performance version of the boss manifold.
Short shift 4500?
Funny
Surprised it dont say mustang
Does balancing the weight help? I drove once with someone about the same size as me on the passenger seat and it felt faster than when I'm driving alone.
Impossible.
CAI’s are a waste of money. Mustangs already have cold air intakes, just look at where the air box is located.
Cold airs don’t do much, what is it like 4-5 hp
Michael Harris and a tune!
Notice me please!!!!!
I know the answer ... mod it
lol i can corner like a mf with my 04 mustang
Full carbon fiber body full carbon fiber frame carbon fiber rims no from bumper no hood no rear bumper no trunk AWD carbon fiber driveshaft rear seat delete passenger seat delete should dramatically reduce the weight
Start fasting lol drop your own weight lmfaoo lighten the cheeks and keep the ac
The gt500 is fast
Anyone watching this- make sure you get some other sources. Can’t run drag radials on MT82? That’s Hogwash. 🙄
It’s not that you can’t, it’s not that smart for dig races. Bias ply is much easier on driveline and will make the mt82 last on launches
