I ran a solid roller 265/275 @ .050, .635/.650 lift in my small block ‘68 Camaro(13:1 c.r.), with Turbo 400 and 3000 stall converter. Sound at idle was absolutely brutal. I daily-drove the car for two years without any problems. When people, today, talk about running “big cams,” I have to laugh.

3 questions 1. does the cam tune cause any performance losses for instance can you still launch with this tune active and or is acceleration affected in a negative way 2. can this tune be paired with superchargers/turbos 3. can this tune be paired with performance tunes. i have a show stang that we want this sound from the tune but also the power adders to back the sound
Loppy idle is a result of a lot of overlap, both intake and exhaust valves open at the same time. The reason this hurts drivability is because it's essentially an internal vacuum leak. With a normal vacuum leak it's from the intake manifold to the atmosphere. With overlap it's one or more cylinders losing it to one or more open exhaust valves. On traditional single cam engines this is a tradeoff, you sacrifice idle quality for mid to high rpm scavenging and power but we don't have to do that with dohc and vvt.
Been looking into a 14 recently. Trying to find the perfect one. Absolutely love that sound i love the lope of a cam. Are cat back exhaust still “legal” as far as inspection?
Reminds me of the Camaros the Lunati sisters drove in the early seventies, but they had cams ground by their father and their 302 was bow tie Chevys from 69 Z28s 4 speed only you wimps, no rev limiter or traction control.
Would you be able to do this on an automatic with all the same parts and tune that your running? I'm hoping to buy and found a great deal on an automatic but not sure whether to go for it or spend a thousand more for a manual. But also a hassle with traffic on a manual here in california

People ask me if it’s a ghost cam and I tell them what it is and they have this look like what the hell am I saying lol. A lot of people are puzzled on what my car is set up from factory. Oh yeah,my drivability with the red track key is like where’s the track lol. Sorry for the story
Mike Mapes all facts. I like that people sleep on these cars not to knock the GT but this is not a GT. The scary thing is to get a proper tune to keep this as original as possible with the trackey is like playing with fire. I did some research and someone here on RUclips got a tune and was able to keep both keys with their set as factory. Of course some one with the knowledge and an HP tuner could get these tuned properly .
Mike Mapes haha! Yeah that wheel hop is ridiculous . I’m going to go with the Leguna Seca LCA to help with that. Check out Sean McGuigan’s RUclips channel. Ok so you have a fuel tune, an E85 tune and Ghost cam. Now can you use the 91 tune, turn on the ghost cam and the 91 tune is still up and running but just has the choppy idle, same as E85 mode plus ghost cam. Or can you not run both at once? Also every time you want to be in a different mode do you have to stop and load for 6 minutes or after its installed is it just push a button and your ready to go? I'm about to pull the trigger but things are confusing. Plus the tuner comes with 2 credits, is that enough to load in these 2 extra tunes assuming you get the 91 tune but had to buy the ghost and E85 tune. Plus I don't believe you get an nGauge anymore so I'm looking into that as well. Please reply and help a fella out.
I have a question if I buy a used sct tuner and it’s married with 5 unlocks left could I use one of the unlocks to unmarry it so I could program it to my car
Ghost cam tune is cool but I'm so over it. It's not for everyone, I'm sure. I am old school, have driven cars with lumpy, choppy cams for years. There are quirks, but I love it. If I ever get an off road mid pipe for my GT, I will definitely get the cammed time as well. Ford was actually first to do this tune, the red key with the Boss had a cammed tune included, though probably not as aggressive as Lund, because it was still cat converter compatible. As far as the ghost cam, it seems that Lund’s ghost cam is no better than Bama. Maybe it’s car specific, but I don’t have an issue with my car shutting off while idling at a light or stop sign. It does try to shut off when backing up though. Not all the time, but definitely some times. I mostly have issues if I don’t let my car warm up enough. That’s the main problem. Also, it is TERRIBLE on gas and the fumes are a killer. I rarely use the tune but it sounds great and it’s cool to run....sometimes. Lol. Holla.
