    The plan is:
    1. Be aware that someone is going to grab you from behind.
    2. Make sure they are not too strong.
    3. Try to remember a youtube short you watched a long time ago.
    4. Try to work out if you have been grabbed by a right or left arm.
    5. Try to get your hands in the correct place.
    6. Carry out the manoeuvre assuming you have not already been choked to death.
    7. At least you tried.

I tried it with my husband at full strength and I couldn’t get out. I tapped out each time. The longest I lasted was maybe 10 seconds. He can lift me off the ground so fast that I have no footing to move like she did. He arches his back and I’m just dangling out front trying not to die.

Reach back and pull the other hand up and back by the thumb (the thumb is 40 times weaker then the hand as a whole)... then push his other hand outwards and turn your head in that direction. If you're off the ground, kick the inside of his leg just under his knee and push off as you escape.

    • @Sam_Iamknot
      @Sam_Iamknot Год назад +8

Agree. Not only the height (in size difference), but the strength, durability of the attacker (male); and if he sinks the choking arm in, under your jaw-line before you try to get your hands hooked on the arms, your struggling and raised heart rate will leave you with less oxygen to breathe while struggling.
      "Situational Awareness"; key component.

Had an older half brother that gave me PTSD from violence toward me. One of his favorite things to do was strangle me, a couple times he almost crushed my throat. I one time was able to struggle enough to get in a hard bite on his arm. Another time, I got his pinky. His grip was stronger than me (especially since he'd lifted weights for years). I realized my entire hand was at least stringer than his little finger. I was able to pull the pinky from his fist grip and violently twisted it. I studied Taekwondo and self defense classes as an adult. I REALLY wish I had know the elbow strike when I was a kid.

Y’all do realize size ain’t shit when you have tactics or adrenaline rushes right? I have a friend who’s no more than 4’11’ish probably 100 pounds wet, who beat the dog shit out of a chick who’s about my height (5’6) and weighs more than me (I only weigh about 145).
      1) My mom and I got into it before; granted I’m taller than her, she has a good 50+ pounds on me, but that didn’t stop me from pushing her halfway across the kitchen a few times. (I didn’t punch her because I’ve never been a physical fighter like that).
      2) I also picked up and body slammed a chick taller and slightly heavier than me when she refused to stop hitting me while I had her pinned up against a wall for trying to fight me because I asked her to put my shit down. I loosely tugged her hoodie, she turned around and started swinging wildly, that’s when I pushed her against the wall and kept telling her to stop punching the top of my head because she wasn’t hurting me, just annoying me.
      3) 3 chicks tried jumping me in middle school when leaving the gym, literally for no reason other than I was nerdy & quiet and they thought I would be an easy target. Teacher was already outside and we were like the last 4 heading out. All it took was for me to push the shit out of one and the other two immediately backed off claiming “they were just playing”. So size does not matter because once the adrenaline kicks in, instincts or tactics will kick in for survival.

Yeah, I think this is the great lie that people tell women these days, that they have a fighting chance against average to above average size men. This story will ruffle some feathers, but I don’t care. I got into this discussion while drinking at a friend’s house a year or so ago. My wife, her friend, and the friend’s sister said they could kick my ass. I’m large but not huge (6’2” 200lbs, not fat, but not jacked either). I’m probably average build for my height. All three of them are either hardcore into yoga or are instructors, so they’re all in really good shape and strong. I said I was game. We went out in the grass and I told them I would not hold back. I did a little. I probably went 75-80%.
As soon as they said go, I just ran at my wife (had to start with her) and pushed her. She went flying and rolled backwards. I turned around to the other two coming at me. I dodged one and just tossed the other. From there, it was about 45-60 seconds of me just pushing them down or tossing them as they ran at me while the others scraped themselves off the grass. Finally, all three dog piled me and got me down. I’m not gonna lie, 3 on 1 with me at the bottom of the pile had me worried for a minute. I had about a 5 second moment that I was worried that they had me. But I got one off, then the second, then was able to get up. It ended with me on my knees and my wife running at me. I grabbed her by the back of the neck and tried to toss her but she basically did a scorpion and we all realized it was time to quit before someone got hurt.
We were all a little sore the next day but we still laugh about it and have the video of it. It changed their minds quite a bit. I also reminded them that I was throwing no punches or kicks, while they were. Bottom line, it could have been a slaughter. I feel like all women should have to wrestle a man in high school or college just to see what the strength disparity is like. I think a lot more women would carry pepper spray, a knife, or even a gun if they knew how outclassed they are physically.
I hope no one takes this as a rip on women, or me bragging about beating up women (no one was beat up, and it was all smiles and laughs). It’s not meant like that. In fact, I mean for it to be helpful, like constructive criticism, or like the judges on American Idol telling the guy who can’t sing how bad he really is. Someone needs to tell the guy so he quits making a fool of himself. I feel like if women think they can even compete in a fair fight, they might take more chances. A large man that means a woman actual harm is going to be fast, overwhelmingly strong, and brutal. That feeling of helplessness is something most women haven’t ever felt. Men usually experience it growing up in fights. There’s nothing like getting your ass kicked to make you realize how stupid fighting is and maybe you should work harder to avoid it.
Of course, all the usual caveats apply: “not all”, a pro MMA fighter could kick my ass, and Serena Williams could stuff a male midget into a suitcase and toss him down a flight of stairs. Yeah, I know. But the majority of men could win 2 on 1 or even 3 on 1 fights against the majority of women. ESPECIALLY if striking is on the table.

I think this self-defense move got to be used at last resort only. Best defense it to NEVER allow the possibility of unknown individuals getting too close to you in an isolated place, especially behind your back. As much as you can, avoid being in an isolated place and alone. Avoid being in a wrong time (at night mostly) wrong place (dodgy places mostly) situation. Stay alert at all times like a cat or dog !

If you must pepper spray or a small powerful flashlight it’s made of metal work says brass knuckles in your hands as well as a flashlight these things are legal get rid of that knife I’ll get you in trouble end it can be taken away from you and it’s nasty lotta reasons not to use that.

If a big dude like him actually tried anything there's 100% no way she could get away.
For example she's not getting hit in training. Those practices are assuming your attacker stops after grabbing you.
It's like the difference between WWE wrestling and actual mma just look what cm punk went through in a real fight even he got man handled with no way of fighting back.
