    Please don’t sell your Discovery. It was the Discovery and your persona mated together that compelled me to watch your videos 2-3X. Keep doing what you’re doing because you’re an inspiration to us in the USA.

    Fixing the parking sensors by removing the bumper, in the middle of the night, in the middle of nowhere, all by yourself... This has to be the coolest thing I have in a long time.. Your videos are a different level of inspiration. And with your calmness, you motivate the viewers so effortlessly! Fantastic work, cheers.

    You hit the nail on the head, do what makes YOU happy, not what what you think others would approve of. What makes the next guy happy might not be the same thing that does it for me and that's ok, so long as what you pursue is morally right and legal then knock yourself out. I stopped caring what others around me thought of me a long time ago and man that lifted and released a heavy burden. Live YOUR life and live it to the fullest of your ability every single day because time is fleeting my friend and each day we grow closer to the end.

    Happy Belated Birthday Kasper! I understand peoples comments about you and your Discovery 4 & to be honest I agree with most of them, but at the end of the day, you are the content creator and the master of your own path, I will always watch your videos as your lifestyle right now is inspiring as I too am a wanderer & wander whenever I can, life in the wilderness is bliss, always a good way to get away from stress and the reality of the rat race many of us today live in.

      @@kasperhoglund we all know that feeling. I spent a fair amount of money putting a galvanised chassis onto a D2 Metropolis and did everything else it needed but then sold it as I had purchased my D3 and knew that I would be using the D3 more and I just preferred it. Despite the D3 drying on me in Norway and having to get it back to Scotland, I am just about to complete an engine replacement and a load of other work to bring the D3 back to life and hopefully give it another 17 years of life. I still look at Series 3s and 90s and I love the romantic idea of having one but I know my D3 is the one I just love it 🤣🤣 ultimately they are just trucks to some but more to others and they get under your skin and whilst they are part of us, they shouldn't hold us back or define us. It's all too easy to keep a vehicle because everyone expects us to, like my D2, but you have to do what's right for you 👍. Good luck.

    Where do you store your cooler? I notice you do not have a mini fridge so how do you keep food cool? I saw during the original build videos that you installed a heater. I'm thinking I want to do zero breeze and make window ports for AC. I need a plan for power that can run a portable AC unit - maybe a dual battery setup or solar? How do you maintain power? I suppose you do not need a portable AC in the cold environments you live in but out here it is a must for the heat. I am brainstorming neat and clean set ups or dropping the money to have someone build one or DIY. Happy Birthday Kasper.

    • @kasperhoglund
      @kasperhoglund  Год назад

      Thanks! Left the cooler at a friends place. AC isn’t necessary here for sure, but need to fix a working fan for sleeping in the car when it it’s sun out (like trough the sunny days now that I’ve flipped my day around).
      Currently only charging up a power station from the 12v in the car. But I used to have a solar on the roof. But the whole battery system needs an upgrade, so it’s in hold 👍

  • @rollo395
    @rollo395 Год назад +1

    A discovery 2 would cost more to maintain now due to its greater age and chassis problems. So you may end up with a cheaper vehicle but higher maintenance costs.

    • @kasperhoglund
      @kasperhoglund  Год назад

      Not really. This car here is fairly new and taxed trough the roof + expensive insurance. So I pay 500$ each month for the car and 200$ each month for insurance. Plus it has 270 000km on it, so maintenance comes with that as well as age.
      A older/cheaper car with some more maintenance is still far cheaper each month and would allow more travel 👍

  • @G500expedition
    @G500expedition Год назад +1

    I had the same dilemma as you but perhaps on another scale. I used to travel the world with my 911, but I had to make a decision : slow down my travels or buy a car that’s cheaper to maintain and more suited for travel.. so with a broken heart I sold the 911.. and bought the G class.. I’m still sad about it but I love being able to continue traveling the world. It’s amazing how different the landscape is from my Nordkapp trip in the winter !

    You're losing the authenticity when dubbing and miming the script on video. Either speak live on video or dub over other footage. Other than that good production and great adventures

    • @kasperhoglund
      @kasperhoglund  Год назад +3

      Not miming anywhere in these. The live footage is recorded with a microphone, and the parts with other videos playing is an overlay over the video of me speaking. The intro for example is recorded as a video, but used something else to play over because it would be damn boring to just look at a guy talk all the time.
      Anyhow, thanks for the feedback, even though you’re wrong.
