Here’s a summary:
After OP’s mom passed away Nan (grandma) had promised to change her will so that anything that would’ve gone to OP’s mom now goes to the kids
When Nan passed, the aunt kept delaying the reading of the will
And that’s when OP’s dad found out that somehow the will was changed so that everything went to the Aunt
The money, house, and everything inside
The aunt then tried to sell the house while also putting down a deposit on a new one as she was trying to move closer to her daughter
It was then discovered the house had some *serious* foundational flaws
The building was slowly sinking into the ground meaning it either needed some heavy reconstruction or full demolition
So the house that was originally going for $750,000 was now only going for a mere $85,000
Aunt couldn’t afford the new house she wanted and was now struggling for money so she had to move in to the city with her daughter
At that time the Aunts partner ended up taking the rest of her money and running away with it
Aunt lived with her daughter for a while but then got in a fight with her daughter and ended it by saying “I should’ve had an abortion”
To which the daughter promptly kicked her out of her house
Her daughter was the last person who put up with her, Aunt had burned bridges with everybody else so she had no one to go to
Aunt now lives in a minivan in the shittiest part of the city
She is unable to get a job too because of early stage arthritis
