  • This project is going to be quite a challenge as the Map Room version of Indiana Jones has seen some serious action. Missing one arm completely, the other hand missing, and damaged to his torso where do I start in fixing him up.
    Join me today to see if I can save this figure from the trash can.
    See how I made the robes and the material I used here:

    I havee nowhere near the level of talents you have or even equipment you use, but like you I am also looking at damaged toys in a new way. Instead of thinking something is beyond repair I now start to wonder if something can be done with styrene, plastic weld, milliput.

  • @garym6315
    @garym6315 8 месяцев назад

    I half expected the arm and shoulder to break when you put the satchel on at the end. Which makes me then wonder if that was what caused the damage to begin with. A kid trying to squeeze the arm and head in to a satchel loop that was too small, like an Ewok one perhaps.

    Lots of "Mileage" on that Indy. Would using both arms of the donor figure be better. They would be the same scale. It might be possible to extend the post for the spring. PTFE tape around the arm's post also is a good barrier for putty like milliput putty.

    Awesome job. Glad you got the arm mechanism working too, that's a bonus. I keep forgetting to ask you, when you mix up your milliput, you usually only have a small job to do and mix more than you need (I do the same myself) do you have a couple of jobs ready to go so none of it gets wasted or is it such a small amount you don't worry about throwing some out?

    • @toypolloi
      @toypolloi  8 месяцев назад +1

      It depends. Sometimes I am filming a few things or working on another project so it gets used. A lot of the time I just put it to one side as it's a good way to check when it has set fully without risking the work you have done on the toy.
      It's very hard to mix small amounts of this stuff and I always make way to much.

    • @BrynSmith76
      @BrynSmith76 8 месяцев назад

      @@toypolloi I guess if you had a small mold of something like the indy bag you could always make an extra one of them with the left overs. Any small mold would be a handy thing to have set aside. I might try doing that when I mix too much.

    Hi,
    I've recently had some water damage to some Halo figures in box. And as usual they're stuck together. Is there anything I can do to separate the boxes that would cause as little damage as possible to the packaging? In the past I didn't think there was anything I could do but just separate them and tear up the outside of the boxes. I'm hoping you might know of a way that I could separate them without ripping up the boxes too badly 🤞🙏
    Thank you
