When it comes to flat rate envelopes it honestly doesnt matter to a certain extent. Regardless of the weight or dimensions they will charge you the same "flat rate". But if you look down by the barcode on the envelopes it will tell you the exact dimensions and it also says up to "70lbs". So basically youll be charged the same price up to 70 pounds, anything over 70 pounds you cant use the flat rate anymore. Hope this helps.
Hi Kyle, when using a poly mailer and if you stuff it with a jacket, would that change the dimensions with it being stretched in thickness? For example I'm selling a pair of ski pants that weigh two pounds. It won't fit into the priority flat rate envelope. How would you ship it?
Great question. It will change the dimensions but I only ship items less than 1 pound in poly mailers so as long as the dimension isn't 24 inches it doesn't matter and you will be chargedon weight only. . I personally just shipped 2 pairs of ski pants. Anything that will not fit in the flat rate envelope I put in a "padded" flat rate envelope. They are poly material and stretch a bit so can typically put oversized clothing in those. Hope that helps.
