- American vocalist, best known as the lead singer for the rock band Survivor from 1978 until 1983 - Dave Bickler performed with the 1982 years song ''Eye of the Tiger'' from the theme song for the motion picture Rocky III in German music show ''Kulthits'' on MDR 10th november 2018
Pretty solid performance for a guy in his sixties
JSYK, all 80's musicians are now in their 50's to 70's.
ACDC Singer Brian Johnson sounds pretty much the same from when he was younger, just little bit more raspy voice.
Dennis DEYOUNG still takes the crown for best singer from the 70s and 80s. He still sings in original key for god sake and literally sounds the same. Same from the singer from vandenberg.

Good one. Unfortunately new voices are so "politically correct" and lack the raw timbre only a guy in 50-60-70 can have. It was their time, they know the drill and have the skill for this.

Considering the orchestra nearly killed a great song and there's a key change to allow him to sing at a lower octave, he sounds great. His voice is still clear.

Dave was able to sing Eye of the Tiger in original key till mid 90s.

He originally lost the gig with Survivor about a year after Eye of the Tiger was released due to issues with his vocal cords.
I couldn’t care less about “likes” but Jimi Jamison definitely deserves a few! He wasn’t the original singer for the band or this song but man he could really belt it out! I know a lot of people say Steve Perry is the iconic voice of the 80s and I agree he is but Jimi sang with power and emotion and that just can’t be overlooked!
dave bickler is a little bit like a sound of steve perry in recording but not in live
Jayar Porquerino Yeah his voice is a little thinner. He’s still good,no doubt but Perry And Jamison had that rasp and tone And the ability to sing with power and control...But none of this would have been possible without Jim and Frankie so cheers to them as well!

Jimi Jamison will always be my favorite front-man vocalist for Survivor. He is all I knew until I realized that there was a front-man way before Jimi . I am just glad Dave Bickler can still sing.
Dave Bickler is one of those knock out singers, just like John Farnham---the vocals just flow through nicely.

I think the competition that every one compares Bickler, Jamison, & Perry in it's self is unnecessary, they all brought something to music and are all individuals with their own unique voices.

It's sad to see him this diminished. He was so powerful in his youth prior to the surgery.
Even years after his surgery. When Dave came back to the band in 1993, he was 40 and his voice was in top form. You can find some of their shows from 93' here on RUclips. He kicked ass. .

Este cantante Dave Bickler sufrió una pérdida de voz en la misma década del 80, eso hizo que nunca más cantara en conciertos, con el paso de los años se recuperó en la voz para solamente hablar, pero nunca más cantó igual, por ello se retiró, aún siendo querido por las personas que lo invitan a participar en estos shows y conciertos, él va y canta, todos sabemos que no es la misma voz, pero se le agradece por su aporte con la voz original de esa canción, para muchas personas es un himno.

Dave Bickler still sounds great. WTF were you thinking Frankie Sullivan?
Good rendition by Dave Bickler... better than some of the later Survivor live renditions when he was still in the band to be honest.
Still, Survivor is just a cash cow to Sullivan these days... still not sure how he ever came to own the band... Jim Peterik was the real heartbeat.
Bickler and Jimi Jamison (both great) did the frontman business... Sullivan? A reasonably good guitarist who was a good sounding board when it came to the songwriting.. without really writing any of them despite the credits.
Survivor, as it stands now, isn't really Survivor... it's Frankie and Friends and Family. Getting rid of Bickler was basically stripping the band of its last layer of legitimacy.
I agree, they lack the creative force without Peterik and the current rendition of the band is a joke.
