It’s a good thing people in your area actually know how to pull over, where I live nobody even pays attention to when there’s a emergency vehicle behind them
Nice to see at 2:33 the driver jumped the curb to get out of the way! Heck with tires etc. somebody could be dyeing or house is on fire, screw the car. Get out of the way!
Love seeing NC drivers move over. When I was with Western Wake (formally Fairgrounds Vol FD) you could always count on drivers to get out of the way. Here in Detroit you have to push them out of the way, if they even see you.
Wish we had the California motorists pull over and STOP like 99% of the drivers did here in this video. Our calls are tense with the distracted drivers and ones who simply do not follow the rules of the road. Great color and clarity on your video here. Nice job guys.
The page i didnt know i wanted, but the page i needed. Im 16 and taking a firefighting class in highschool right now. Im going to get my paramedic degree in college. Hopefully ill get a job before 21
See, this is why Pierce is the largest fire apparatus manufacturer in the world: Since Mack and their iconic bulldog left the market, nobody offers a hood ornament. Thus, Pierce steps in to fill that void with the yellow rubber ducky. I mean, that little critter just screams "tenacity", amiright? Definitely need to discuss with our Pierce rep about including that option when my department specs our next rig.
It's duck ornament, likely from the "Convoy" movie (truckerstoystore.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2016/02/Duck-Chrome-Angry-Duck-Hood-Ornament-Truckers-Toy-Store.png)
Its entirely possible that, if present, the system failed at that particular moment. It does happen more often than it probably should. However, judging by the traffic lights hanging from the wiring instead of actually being mounted on poles, this intersection is probably residing within a rural area that either doesn't have the money to have Opticom or similar installed, or believe the system simply isn't needed.
@@azurblueknights Yeah, it definitely doesn't seem to have one at that intersection - I don't see any Opticom infrastructure on the wires. Like you said, most likely just wasn't budgeted for in this intersection, as they're very expensive. However, span wires are usually used in wider intersections such as this one, and they often do have Opticom setups as well. It's less common to see mast arm installations in intersections with multiple travel lanes in each direction, though it depends on your area. Plus, most smaller intersections in small, rural areas near me, use mast arms instead of span wires - it's actually not about cost.
Awesome channel! If you haven’t already, can you film a video from the moment the signal is received all the way until arrival? Sorry if you have prior to this. Just found the channel
nice video! i hope everyone is doing okay and there was no fire going on.. here in germany im actually a first responder related to the local firehouse.. i was wondering where this beautiful landscape comes from? what state is it? God bless you and stay safe out there, doing your job!
I have to ask, why when the fire truck was coming out of the station, why did that second car not stop? well such if life, and thanks for a great video.
Mind if I ask what camera you used to get this? I'm photographer for a local volunteer fire company and looking to add an action cam to my gear for purposes such as this video.
Drivers should not be allowed to block both lanes if a rescue vehicle will be coming through there should seriously be a law against blocking the other lane when rescue vehicles are going to come
It’s a good thing people in your area actually know how to pull over, where I live nobody even pays attention to when there’s a emergency vehicle behind them
Same I am a police officer and no one listens to emergency video.
Or pays any attention.
Props to that guy who drove his suv over the median
It was an excuse to do something you couldn’t usually do
That jeep was just looking for an excuse to go off-roading wherever he could
2:34, nice job by the Jeep pulling onto the median to get out of the way.
"This guy is telling me to go around him." Lol. Best driver ever.
At 1:00 you can hear one of the firefighters say "False alarm." Good to continue on, though, until it's confirmed to be an actual false.
2:31 Now THAT is how you yield.
PvPParasite it’s a Jeep thing. :)
#JustJeepThings
Lol
He’s been waiting for this moment his whole life. Finally paid off to buy that SUV
2:32 dispatch we have a too generous driver
Nice to see at 2:33 the driver jumped the curb to get out of the way! Heck with tires etc. somebody could be dyeing or house is on fire, screw the car. Get out of the way!
Ya

I’m from the U.K. and I was in a huge fire a while ago and 2 fire trucks got there in 3 mins all fire truck drivers are epic drivers
My home town, thanks for your service

Great driver! One of the best I've seen.
Props to the van at 2:30!
Great video. You got a really good camera, your truck has amazing sounds. Super glad you got to your call safely.
Around 1:35 I realized I live right down the street from you guys. :D
Dont dox yourself, lad!!
Great use of switching siren tones at the intersections!
2:55 I Think that an undercover cop on the left.

Took me a minute to realize about the chicken

i’m currently a sophomore in hs and want to go to college and be a firefighter i watched at least 15 of these lol on your page
Nice video as always! 🧯👍🏻
I know right
1:45 Good grief, why doesn't that major intersection have an Opticom or other emergency-vehicle preemption system?
Its entirely possible that, if present, the system failed at that particular moment. It does happen more often than it probably should. Does the home owner get charged for a false call out?

This truck had to respond from a ways away.

Come on guys its obviously fake. Nobody would ever pull that far out of the way.
