trailer was a write off before they even arrived. They had an interstate shut down and wanted to get it extinguished asap. Typically you want to aim for the hottest part of the fire, there's also other considerations like gasoline or diesel that the truck was carrying.

Long way to fire, but other then the pickup truck not moving out of the way before jumping on highway you were moving good. Other then the truck and asshole passing you on the right, everyone else yielded in both directions. Also great use of the horn when approaching intersections and traffic. Good thing second crew showed up as the first line would never have put out fire from that distance. Instead of the White hat holding the radio, he should have been helping his crewman! White hat does not give you an excuse to avoid work when you are running short crewed! T
The white hat was doing his role of coordinating and keeping an overall view of the situation. He should not get distracted by becoming hands on unless to avert danger. Why do you use the electronic siren when you have a Q siren? Hi lo is a British siren mode. As a retired firefighter I didn’t over-run the siren. Used it sparingly
A while back a ladder truck blew through a very busy state highway intersection red stop light with no lights or sirens right in front of me. The fire engine was full of people and everyone of them was an idiot. Reckless AF!
That's why we only use the siren when it is necessary on the highway , like in heavy or slow moving traffic . Studies have shown that sirens are ineffective at speeds over 70 mph
Some states/cities/counties do have a law where it is illegal to pass, but most don’t, a majority of fire trucks like tankers, engines, ladders, and rescues are governed at 60-65 so there is no point to make it a law due to speed limits in some areas being 70-80.
Why do Americans stop and move over when they're on the other side of the road? (Like at 0:34 and 2:02) I can understand letting off the gas but i don't see the point in completely pulling over and stopping when the truck is going in a straight line in the opposite direction
why park in the smoke and expose the crew?? You could have just parked out of the smoke and then there would have been less distance to pull the line also...
That’s a limited access interstate highway. It’s not the middle of some town. I don’t think they have a fire house every other mile on the Autobahn either

Looks the fire originated on the truck? Long response time being out on the interstate.
My only grip strategically is why not start fighting the fire to first protect exposure (unburned part)? Other than that a great catch and video!!!

Why did the CAFS hose stream so choppy? Ours is a straight smooth water flow.
