When you said, “We all need to be seen, heard, and acknowledged,” my heart was so moved. I have had a long journey toward believing that I am worthy of being seen and heard and it is still something I struggle with. I’m turning 60 in November so I decided I wanted to share some of my life story on my vlog. When I went to record the first one, I found myself feeling very vulnerable. I had to start over several times and now, as I’m editing it, I’ve asked myself if I should share it at all. I have decided to go ahead, though, because the events I’m describing helped me to become the me I am now and I’m proud of my journey and how far I’ve come. It’s a difficult decision, though. I do think that us as content creators being vulnerable and emotionally honest can be of great value to others because we never really know what people are going through and who will be able to take encouragement from what we share. I left all social media and stopped personally blogging about a month ago and I have no regrets. Maybe it's my age - but I no longer feel comfortable sharing my personal life with strangers. I just want to focus on my creative work.
Hi Wendy my life has gone totally non plan! I was diagnosed with lung cancer in summer and had a brutal op to get it out. Life is non plan since then!! I would like to have some goals but to be pain free would be good. Watching you cheers me up. Hugs xxx

Thank you for being here. I’ve been frozen in pursuit for five years and love your start in organizing. When I’m going, I, too seem to work on multiples. As a retired librarian, I really do work best, in a scheduled, organized, or at least flowing, organized chaotic space. I worked with children, very inspirational, little souls, and I often demonstrated on very large, 3-D bulletin/ Art, and like a library, the work was my curious oyster. I am an inspired kindred soul, juggling, balance in my much smaller than your space, shared with bed, dresser and desk, some or all of which may be ready to live elsewhere. I make journals, collage,watercolors, acrylic and 3-D materials, etc., need to get on with my stuff. Out there with you, sitting at a Fair Art Show today.🐝🦋🐞🤖👻🎃♥️
I read a quote, can't remember where now but it helps me stop procrastinating....I can suffer from the 70% rule where my pieces (I usually have several on the go too like you) are almost finished but I am scared I will ruin them or I'm not sure where they are heading...the saying goes "Start before you are ready" Basically, don't think about what you need to do just grab the brush or pencil and start before you have a plan. It does free me up and most importantly gets me creating! 😁 Blessings for another lovely chat, Wendy 🥰
We retired to a smaller home and I have one of the bedrooms for my crafting. It is also full of my pretty things and collectibles that I couldn't bare to get rid off. It is my happy place but I need to figure out how to get more work surfaces in there. I dream of a studio like yours.

Lovely video Wendy! Truly enjoyed this one and had me weeping at the end. My life is very much like yours in so many ways and then again not. I do love my creative painting and like to switch to jewelry for a break and have collected throughout many decades beautiful semi-precious stones and crystal's. I am also right now digging into closets and cupboards and just like you trying to make more efficient use of the tiny space I live in. One very big difference between us is I have not generated a business out of my art creations, though it once was a dream, after watching your videos I now wonder if it could ever even be possible!?🤔 I live in a 500 square-foot home and my art studio takes up 3/4 of my living room area. Storage space is at a minimum. Still I dream and wonder. Now I am doing the Wendy waffle so I will conclude here with a huge thank you and YES boundaries are so very important! Hi Wendy , just came back from a lovely walk in the rain with my fave parasol to keep me from melting away... it was so lovely to get out of the house and look at all the growth in our tiny street and our tiny garden ...so peaceful and only person I met was a Neighbour out walking His Wippit Dog and Baby in a pram ...we actually had a little laugh after I commented about how it feels like Ground Hog day ,(especially as we passed each other again later on ) ... my long skirt is a bit soggy but it is warm here in New Zealand ..thought I would have a lovely cup of tea with You and the Tribe ...cheers!! Nice to see someone else with a "that cardboard box will come in useful sometime" and then never use it obsession! I've also wondered about how much to share on social media. I'm usually not one for sharing personal struggles online but have been going through some difficult stuff lately, and while I haven't shared the specifics on my channel, I've highlighted that I'm struggling. It's helped some of the people who watch and it's also supported me through things so that's a positive thing overall. Of course I don't express things as eloquently as you do as I just usually wing my waffling on my vlogs 😆
I too jump around …I have a few commissions sitting around that need to be finished and I jump to inspired things like the ideas I get from you….and my mind wandering…. I need to get back to my commissions and get them out. Saying no and creating boundaries is so hard…I’m 55 and just learning this, it’s so hard not to feel guilty for defending myself. I’m glad I’m not the only one that jumps around…I too make jewelry as well as I’m a educator and now a full time artist……..good vibes to you Wendy, peace and love and hugs….

Good morning on this sunny Friday morning from Northern California my friend. Having a cuppa while I watch your vlog which is always a joy. I worked on my art junk journal this week and it was good and pottered out in the courtyard. It was very therapeutic since I’ve been so down after making that emotional decision. I really get a lot of support by listening to you waffle on in earnest what you are going through emotionally and being so honest. I’ll have my two youngest grand children tonight until Sunday Morn so we will be working on their Christmas projects that always involve paints. Seeing your sparkly Christmas lights in your window made me think why don’t I do that in my little home studio. You’ve done a fab job on organizing, I think we are learning everyday about ourselves and love what you shared today on vulnerability. Yes, dark and light days, cocoon when we need to which is important to recharge. Shining your light and being ourselves is good advice Wendy. So lovely, Wendy! Thanks for keeping it real and helping encouraging us to shine our lights bright (I'm trying REAL hard this week, it's a challenge with cold and rainy weather, though!) And I can really relate to the struggle of trying to be eco friendly and take care of all the recycling while trying to keep a small studio in order. I have about 10x12 ft of space and it's full of shelves and products and I have to do a cardboard box recycle dump almost daily here! It adds up so quickly🤪 Take care and stay well 🌈☀️🌸

It is a very scarey thing to be so open to all these people you don't know and you can be answered through texts etc sometimes not that kindly. You really amaze me Wendy. I really think this is a topic especially after Pandemic the weird feelings of being social etc. It has changed us I think. And the little ones who have been at home with parents and now won't be. That will be a huge change for their lives

Boundaries...hmmm a real struggle for me. But since another birthday came and went - I dedicated this next year with healthy boundaries, saying "no" and actually them "hearing it" as I've been such a "yes lady", when I say no, they think I really don't mean it!?

So lovely, Wendy! Thanks for keeping it real and helping encouraging us to shine our lights bright (I'm trying REAL hard this week, it's a challenge with cold and rainy weather, though!) And I can really relate to the struggle of trying to be eco friendly and take care of all the recycling while trying to keep a small studio in order. I have about 10x12 ft of space and it's full of shelves and products and I have to do a cardboard box recycle dump almost daily here! It adds up so quickly🤪 Take care and stay well 🌈☀️🌸

Just seeing your studio again is an inspiration! I have a small room in my house that I use for painting and recording/ editing but it's not a real "studio". I love seeing how bright and lovely yours is! Makes me want to go start a painting!

It is a very scarey thing to be so open to all these people you don't know and you can be answered through texts etc sometimes not that kindly. You really amaze me Wendy. I really think this is a topic especially after Pandemic the weird feelings of being social etc. It has changed us I think. And the little ones who have been at home with parents and now won't be. That will be a huge change for their lives

I love this plan , lol. I'm starting a beautiful 8 by 5 watercolor and ink of a sea turtle 🐢 with a young one on her tail. I'm getting my colors together and I've already sketched out a few turtle templates. So fun. I would love to see it done in one sitting lol. Good luck with that one , eh ? Hi Wendy, thanks for sharing - I too collect okay hoard 🤣 all things! I think it must be a legacy from teaching. Boundaries...hmmm a real struggle for me. But since another birthday came and went - I dedicated this next year with healthy boundaries, saying "no" and actually them "hearing it" as I've been such a "yes lady", when I say no, they think I really don't mean it!?
I wondered if you've ever used a wet pallette for your paints, Wendy? I find it keeps my paints wet for longer and wastes much less, if at all!
