They did try talking to kageyama. That's a big part of why they finally gave up. You don't want to work with someone who won't work with you after many tries. And basically they won against a great team yeah, but it's like saying it was not their main pitcher, or main quarterback. Put in main boy and the entire team could change
If Oikawa's voice sounded familiar, it might be because the guy who voices him also voices Hisoka from HxH.

I love how you see Oikawa's character. He was impressed to Hinata. He definitely did recognize Kageyama yet he's also jealous. The same way is Kageyama to him and I'm sure you'll realize it too

Nah Heisuten, dont make preconceived assumptions about Oikawa's character. He is complex. Watch him out. Too many reactors try judging him too early and suffer later because they are no longer open minded enough to see and understand him when he is vulnerable.
