Custom Jet Ski Conversion to Glass Bottom Boat

  • How to build a custom jet ski into a glass bottom boat. For this weekend project we took a 1994 SeaDoo GTX, cut it in half, and installed windows below the waterline. The result is a glass bottom boat tour that you can operate for yourself. It's no longer a jet boat, but for a few hours of your time, you can take a cheap jet ski and transform it into a fun little fishing boat that gives you an edge over the competition.
    If you are planning to use this design you will want to replace the glass with plexiglass so that it isn't quite as breakable.
    I'll be taking it out into the river soon for some fish watching. Watch for a follow-up video or subscribe to get notifications when it gets posted.
    Thanks to everyone who subscribed to get this channel to its first 100 subs. Now I'm motivated to take on even bigger projects!

    Why does'nt Google And youtube like people designing and building there own fiberglass or out of other different materials to make a JETSKI or PWCS "strange" do they have shares in Seedoo and Yamaha' or is it somehow political and contraversial ? Like most other things are these days.

    Why not go with plexiglass? Any safety glass you get can't be cut. Its first cut to size, THEN its tempered. Once its tempered, the only size it can be cut into is pea sized pellets.. ...and can be done so with just about any hammer.. lol. ..cool video.

    • @StevenVigus
      @StevenVigus  5 лет назад +1

      That's a much better idea than any glass. This project was just a whim and the only material I had sitting around was that old fish tank.

      O. I forgot.. Have you ever seen a row boat with reverse linked oars? They're really compact and allow the rower(?) The ability to have the same power advantage as if facing backwards, but facing forward. I saw one in a movie and searched for the company that made it. Apparently it was home made. I think the movie was the second fugitive movie with Tommy Lee Jones and Wesley Snipes.. Snipes uses it to get away when he first gets free...Anyway, if this is What you're about, maybe you should look into it. It would be a great fit for that boat.. Lol and get some plexiglass before someone slices an artery.
      Cheers

    I was thinking about modifying one to hold an outboard motor. then the interior could be used for storage. I used to have one like that back in the 80s called a dolphin. But they dont make them anymore. It was really nice. I used to put all my dive gear in it and go diving in the gulf. theres an idea for a new project.

    • @StevenVigus
      @StevenVigus  7 лет назад +1

      I had a Yamaha jet boat once and loved it. Rode my neighbor's wave raider 700 a bunch - it has always been super reliable and easy to work on thanks to that big, open hull. I prefer the handling of the SeaDoo X4 hull and its predecessor but I have to say that the Yamaha is a lot of fun to ride. Less chance of getting thrown off and less chance of breaking down. Maybe it's just a fixation for me since my first ever jet ski was a 96 Seadoo XP.
