Torrent is the way to go. Invest in a good vpn rather than investing in streaming services. Far cheaper and more useful. People pay for convenience not for just the shows. They are not understanding it and taking away the only thing giving them business.

Without even watching this video: The reason people are leaving Netflix is because they don't have any content. It's disgraceful that the number one streaming platform in the world has almost no content from the film and television mediums. I don't think most new subscribers realise that when joining. Within a couple of week's time, you have already seen everything you wanted. I've had Netflix for less than a year and they have already raised the price twice. For the 200,000 that did cancel their subs, just imagine how many thousands more WANT to cancel, but are either procrastinating about cancelling, or are plagued with the idea of FOMO when, after cancelling, some new show starts trending. There are more people who want to cancel their subscription than the 200,000 that did - just like there are more people trapped in unfulfilling marriages then those that get divorced.
I couldn't agree more with you. I have Netflix and I am really starting to get irritated. I have seen just about everything already and there is just not enough new concent coming out. I have also found that the content that they do have is just not as enjoyable as it once was. I go days now without even thinking about Netflix. So if I am not enjoying their concent and I am not using it everyday then it seems silly to pay for it especially when they have increased the price

Remeber when CEO of Netflix said that he is disappointed with the low subscription rates in India. Somebody give him a memo, that Netflix doesn't accept RuPay card which 90% of the people use. I would've been a permanent subscriber but it is a hassle to find someone with a Visa card so I've only subscribed for 4 months. And NO!, I'm not going to use Visa or Mastercard.

You only noticed this now, Blockbuster and other rental places had over 750,000 movie's in their catalog, Netflix has a little less than 5,000 depending what region you are in, a rental was once 5$ at a rental store now you need to pay 5$ to 4 different services just to get "basic" stuff.

Me being a kannadiga, netflix has prolly what 2-3 Kannada movies? Prime video has hundreds of them with more variety in tamil, malayalam, Telugu as well. Netflix recently sent me an email telling me the price has gone up to $20.99 CAD a month. When I first joined, it was $11.99 CAD a month and I could have 5 profiles (biggest package available) on my account. Now I find that they keep adding stupid reality (scripted) shows instead of great movies like they used to have. Come out with good, new series shows, then abruptly cancel them after 1, 2 or 3 seasons. Then add more crap. Why pay more if they are just going to keep adding crap I won't watch. I'm ready to cancel.
The last point is where I fit in. I do not want to spend my remaining days on earth being entertained on my phone, computer or television. I want to experience life outdoors.

From an Indian perspective , the reason is lack of quality content. Netflix India has produced shows in the past that were an instant hit, but as of late Amazon prime is really ahead of Netflix in that matter. Mirzapur , udham Singh , patal lok, inside edge , family man just show how ahead prime India is ahead of Netflix which is known for producing you tube content only.
The industry is also so fragmented now. The problem was having various cable provider who has exclusive deals. Netflix was the monolith that a) combined everything, and b) made it on demand. Now with Disney+, Star, Amazon Prime, HBO Max et al. is taking us back to the problem of lots of providers who each have their own exclusives. I, for one, still know how torrents work... 😁

That's not how basic economic principles operate. If there is more demand, then Netflix would be forced to raise prices to pay off the extra labour and technical costs that their service runs upon. It would be neccessity to do so.

My two reasons for leaving is completely different than most and I haven’t even completely left yet: 1. first of all, many of their customers have said that they didn’t like a lot of the programming that was a little risqué and having to do with children! (I’m sure that you know what I’m talking about) And they don’t care! It seems as if they don’t listen to their own customers! 2.second -all the the Netflix originals that they have that start out with a season or two really good and then you get in it you get to watching it for a while and then it just doesn’t come back you never know what happens to anybody and I know that’s kind of silly maybe but it’s really aggravating when you invest in a little bit of time in this and you don’t know what happens to anybody you don’t know what’s going on you just never hear another word about it that is so frustrating that’s almost number 1 to me! I'm in the US and I watch the show Is It Cake. Whenever I watch that program, all I can think about is how incredibly wasteful it is to make all of those cakes just so viewers can watch the host destroy them. We know that once the revolving stage spins, those cakes will be tossed in the bin.

It's been months since I really watched something on Netflix. There is no new content. I am just keeping it.. if they want to monetize password sharing, it's not worth it.
I'm also tired of them putting identity politics into EVERYTHING. it's so weird! Sometimes you want to just be entertained without hearing about pronouns or them sneaking in dudes kissing in the mouth. I stopped watching all of their originals completely. Netflix recently sent me an email telling me the price has gone up to $20.99 CAD a month. When I first joined, it was $11.99 CAD a month and I could have 5 profiles (biggest package available) on my account. Now I find that they keep adding stupid reality (scripted) shows instead of great movies like they used to have. Come out with good, new series shows, then abruptly cancel them after 1, 2 or 3 seasons. Then add more crap. Why pay more if they are just going to keep adding crap I won't watch. I'm ready to cancel.
The last point is where I fit in. I do not want to spend my remaining days on earth being entertained on my phone, computer or television. I want to experience life outdoors.

From an Indian perspective , the reason is lack of quality content. Netflix India has produced shows in the past that were an instant hit, but as of late Amazon prime is really ahead of Netflix in that matter. Mirzapur , udham Singh , patal lok, inside edge , family man just show how ahead prime India is ahead of Netflix which is known for producing you tube content only.
Netflix went for overpriced and overhyped "brand" directors and producers. Others gave chance to "no name" studios

The industry is also so fragmented now. The problem was having various cable provider who has exclusive deals. Netflix was the monolith that a) combined everything, and b) made it on demand. Now with Disney+, Star, Amazon Prime, HBO Max et al. is taking us back to the problem of lots of providers who each have their own exclusives.

1. really poor CONTENT, they never have movie I am looking for
2. PRICE. Poor value for money
3. It becomes increasingly WOKE
4. There are other much more interesting things to do than sitting in front of TV

In other words, You are offended by Netflix’s greed yet, you have no problem piggybacking on your brother’s “outrageously expensive for what it’s worth” subscription. It's because of my curse on Netflix..1 year back...Netflix deducted my subscription amount even though i cancelled it. Soon it will get windup...
It happened to me as well. It's the day I decided to never subscribe this cr*p.
My two reasons for leaving is completely different than most and I haven’t even completely left yet:
1. first of all, many of their customers have said that they didn’t like a lot of the programming that was a little risqué and having to do with children! (I’m sure that you know what I’m talking about) And they don’t care! It seems as if they don’t listen to their own customers!
2.second -all the the Netflix originals that they have that start out with a season or two really good and then you get in it you get to watching it for a while and then it just doesn’t come back you never know what happens to anybody and I know that’s kind of silly maybe but it’s really aggravating when you invest in a little bit of time in this and you don’t know what happens to anybody you don’t know what’s going on you just never hear another word about it that is so frustrating that’s almost number 1 to me!
I just I don’t think it’s me feeling like this…they’re playing it as if they don’t need us and if they don’t then that’s fine - they don’t go on without us then.

I'm in the US and I watch the show Is It Cake. Whenever I watch that program, all I can think about is how incredibly wasteful it is to make all of those cakes just so viewers can watch the host destroy them. We know that once the revolving stage spins, those cakes will be tossed in the bin.
I am expecting more to follow as they keep on increasing the fee to fill its coffers without considering the subscribers' feelings and problems.

Exactly especially with summer days approaching. There is absolutely nothing worth watching. Once in a while there will be a good movie. They increase the price and promise better movies but the better movies never arrive. I canceling mine subscription today until they get better content.

I left Netflix not for price hike but mainly due to 2 things - (1) You have restrictions in using the # of devices which Amazon prime don’t (2) Amazon prime gives you much more benefits in addition to watching shows which Netflix don’t

If a story is set in germany in the 15th century then odds are its going to be 99% German ethnicity sans maybe a foreign price or something where it would make sense to have a non german. I’ve stopped watching the series as a result. The Man In A Castle on Amazon Prime Video followed the same path, and I also stopped watching.☹️ I think it’s deliberate. There’s probably an agenda that they pushing. Sad.
