This is why I love this show! Every time you think the Doctor has gone further than it ever has before, Moffat comes out of nowhere and whacks us across the face with a sequel that leaves you tingling with excitement and ever hungry for more! FANTASTIC! ALLONS Y! GERONIMO!
It's probably the best sci-fi show in history, it's almost been running 50 years. I admit I haven't watched the old Dr who, but the new series which started in 2005 I think, is a nice show to watch. It's deffinately a great show to get into. I always saw TV trailers for Dr who and thought it looked silly and cheap, so I avoided it for years until a few month ago, once I started watching, I was hooked forever. I've laughed, cried, everything, this show has everything. Watch it, 10th Dr is my fav
Series 4 had to be my favorite because at the end of the series it brought all of the other companions together, but Doctor Who gets better none the less.
@@peterkorman77 That episode isn't really that bad. Power of three, Bells of Saint John, Rings of Akhaten, Crimson Horror, Name of the Doctor. Those are all rather shit.
Can't agree more. My absolute favorite run of episodes (and in my opinion the most exciting trailer shown by the BBC - I remember watching this about 20 times when it first came out).
I remember watching at time, I was in my hospital bed for infection in my finger I was worried that I won't be out to see asylum of daleks cuz bk then my family didn't have catch up Edit: lucky my surgery was all right and I manage to see it 😌
Two other notable participants in the birth of the series were Anthony Coburn and Waris Hussein, the writer and director, respectively, of the first four-part serial, An Unearthly Child, the first episode of which aired on 23 November 1963. The version of the first episode that was broadcast was in fact the second mounting of that episode; an earlier version (called The Pilot Episode by fans), was taped some weeks before, but rejected for several issues.
It's weird how one of the weaker seasons (of Moffat's era anyway... it would end up getting much MUCH worse down the years) had possibly one of the BEST trailers in the entire new who
Here's my score for each episode of series 7 part 1,2 and 2013 specials. scores are out of 10 Asylum of the daleks- 8.5 Dinosaurs on a space ship- 7.0 A town called mercy- 7.5 The power of three- 7.75 The angels take manhattan- 9.0 The snowmen- 9.5 The bells of saint john- 8.25 The rings of akhaten- 7.0 Cold war- 7.5 Hide- 8.50 Journey to the centre of the tardis- 7.25 The crimson horror- 7.0 Nightmare in silver- 7.5 Name of the doctor- 8.0 Day of the doctor- 10 Time of the doctor- 9.75 Average score- 8.12 Overall a pretty strong series and a good improvement on the last series.
I'm relieved that this season will only have stand alone episodes, with a few exceptions like 'The Empty Child' and 'The Doctor Dances' I have always felt the others needed a good edit!
The first three Doctor Who serials to be novelised were the William Hartnell stories The Daleks (as Doctor Who in an exciting adventure with the Daleks by David Whitaker, published on 12 November 1964), The Web Planet (Doctor Who and the Zarbi by Bill Strutton, published on 16 September 1965) and The Crusade (Doctor Who and the Crusaders by Whitaker, published in 1965). They were published in hardback by Frederick Muller Ltd; the first was also published in paperback, by Armada.
The series began to really take off in popularity with this serial, which helped launch "Dalekmania" in the UK, leading to toys, the first novelisation Doctor Who in an Exciting Adventure with the Daleks, the movie adaptation Dr. Who and the Daleks, and many televised sequels, beginning with The Dalek Invasion of Earth. Love an enternal story line.
The series began to find its voice as a science fiction series with the second serial, The Daleks by Terry Nation. It introduced the Daleks, the single most iconic recurring enemy of the franchise.
Sounds like the new series' rendition of Eleven's theme, like how we got "The Majestic Tale" in series 6. We even caught a bit of it in The Asylum of the Daleks, towards the end. I swear there are a couple bars that sound like they're from "All the Strange, Strange Creatures" mixed in there. The horn section from 0:33 to 0:38 in particular.
This was the very first trailer I ever saw for Doctor Who, and a big part of getting me to watch the show. A couple of friends had tried to get me to watch, and I was a little turned off by the effects in Series 1. When I saw this trailer, though, it showed me just how far the show had gone since it began and got me really excited to start. I began with Series 1 in the summer of 2012 and have not looked back! Still a Whovian, still watching every new episode as it releases, and of course going back and watching the old stuff too. Love it all!
Also important to creating the atmosphere of the early series were composers Ron Grainer and Delia Derbyshire. Grainer wrote the basic melody of the "Doctor Who theme", and Derbyshire, with the BBC Radiophonic Workshop, transformed it into a pioneering piece of electronica music. There have been several arrangements used of the "Doctor Who theme", but the basic melody has remained unchanged.
It's about an alien (The Doctor) who stole a time machine from his planet hundreds of years ago, and set off for adventures throughout all of time and space. He can change his body when he is dying, which is why his appearance and personality have changed lots of times. He usually travels with at least one human companion, and those tank like robots you see in this trailer, are Daleks, who are his most evil enemy. They are not robots, but mutated blobs in war machines. He has many other enemies.
"You've got me, what are you waiting for, at long last here I am!!!!!" matt smith may have his critics but this trailer and this line in particular looks and sounds amazing can't wait this Saturday!!!!!
I'm amazed that there are still members of the Who fanbase who are capable or recognising quality and utilising cohesive reason. Thank you for restoring a certain amount of faith in this fanbase... Anyways, all I know about TPoT is that it features those weird cubes. I'd imagine that the title of the episode is a multi-layered reference to the relationship between the Doc, Amy and Rory.
Holy Tardis of Galifrey can we not just agree that tennant and smith are both fantastic actors and that rtd and moffat are both amazing writers that both hav their good and bad points ?
Thank you very much :) I just think that even if an episode is bad, we have to realise, that writing a quality episode is hard. Not all of them can be The Doctors Wife or Silence In The Library or The Girl Who Waited, but in their own way, they are still good. DoaS was very funny, and the Mitchell and Webb Robots cracked me up. But I cant wait for the rest of this series, and I think The Power Of Three will be this seasons "brilliant episode" Series one had The Empty Child, Series 2 had Doomsda-
Series 7 so far(my views): 1. The Angels Take Manhattan- Epic, brilliantly bittersweet send-off for the first companion-couple since the revival. Fantastic music, especially during the last 10 minutes. 2. Asylum of the Daleks- If Moffat wanted to make the one-eyed squids-inside-tin-cans threatening again he suceeded. Plus we get a great impression of the new companion. 3. A Town Called Mercy- Action-packed, surprisingly smart sci-fi western that asks questions about mercy, revenge-

It's a science fiction show about an alien who travels through time and space with a human companion. He's known as "The Dr". He's a Timelord, an alien species who have existed for millions of years but are now gone, they look human, or maybe humans look time lord as the dr is always clear to point out, he is the last.He uses his spaceship (The Tardis) to travel anywhere and any time he likes, it's all an adventure. there's one very good reason for that. he eventually becomes the Valeyard at the end of his twelfth cycle. he's gotta start the transformation at some point.
He looked at it in the beginning as well, and, the fixed point was made when Rory watched his own death, and so the Doctor said he had to keep running for the rest of his life
Yeah, I think they might have some talk about it. And it will end in a heart warming moment when the Doctor and Clara sat down and talked about her. And the Doctor might give her the full story of Oswin
Interesting thing about the absorbaloff, the kid who designed it hated what they did to it. Apparently it was supposed to be a monster the size of a bus
