yeeeeeessss. I have a '93 stang stroked to a 347 ( old school streetfighter) with a novi 2000 on it. I love that damn car and have had it for years, but the balance of the car it's self, and the matched hp and torque curve on my worked '05 ls2 6mt.....the goat is so much more fun and less sloppy.
I can't stand GM, but I must admit, they make a great family of engines. I actually have plans to buy a Mk2 prius and mid mount an LS1 to have some super sleeper fun!
I have a supercharged g8. Love the sound but a Stang with an h pipe always has me rubber neckin. Love em both.

That's part of the reason I got it over a Corvette. I had two guys over 6' back there and they said it was comfortable.

Outstanding review and terrific editing!! Your hard work always pays off in the presentation of your videos. This GTO was pretty sick, I love the noise and those black wheels looked awesome with the red paint.

Wish so bad that pontiac was still around. I hate the face that there only 4 cars that really compete in the mustang, challenger, camaro, and charger. Sure chevy came out with the chevy ss to add to things, but if pontiac were still around the GTO and the G8 would just add to the fire. I also think ford should offer a 400+ horsepower taurus v8 so there is another 4 door car in the mix. But anywaysss..... damn that's a nice ass ride. It sounds crazy!!!!! Tell him don't sell it.

This is what's missing from modern cars... I love the sound and feel of a large displacement American V8 engine, particularly those from GM. The LSx is a symphony. =)

Saw this GTO on the dyno at a car show not too long ago. Super clean, sounded amazing and laid down over 700 to the wheels. LS cars are just amazing pieces of engineering.

The gas feels so heavy likely because of the cable throttle! It sucks that the GTO here has such a heavy clutch, there are so many options of clutch for LSx cars, and many of them are rather heavy. In particular the puck-style clutches are very, very heavy and not smooth at all. The full face clutches are much lighter and smoother.

Getting my 06 Goat back and wondering which way to go. The Magnuson looks to do just fine but not a fan of the whine. Once again thinking Procharger and wondering what you've found for the GTO. +6806goats1 surprisingly I've seen ALOT of people go single or twin turbo on gtos i seen a couple procharged and they do pretty well me personally I'd rather procharger i cruise in my car more than anything so i want something more street friendly

It made 590rwhp in 2010, I got my M122 used for 3K back then. Add another 2K for extras and tuning. You will love boost :D

I get the "small back seat" because its a sports car, but in terms of sports cars GTOs have super roomy back seats, I had a 6 foot 260lb man in my back seat and he said he was fairly comfortable!

Nope, the equipped engine followed the Corvette. When the C5 retired in 2004 and the C6 emerged in 2005 with the LS2, the GTO got it as well.
06 got our hsv gto 400 hp engine . 04-05 got the monaro cv8 355hp engine

Although it would be nice to see a Camaro review, it really wouldn't be so much of a difference compared to the already reviewed GTO, G8 and Vettes other than a motor size differences and maybe some mods. Either its supercharged or its not....lol. Other than the body of a Camaro, i don't think were missing anything unless its a Z28 review....that would be an epic review.

Just found a 04 Automatic for 25k 🥲 it’s either that car or a 2010 Jaguar XKR supercharged 5.0L V8, I like stangs too but I honestly would only get a cobra,Saleen or Roush edition so my options are very very slim lol

Looks like a full 05-06 conversion on the outside from the exhaust and bumper to the hood and even trunk. Almost thought you made a mistake calling it an 04 until I saw the radiator overflow tank on the passenger side.

I had a 2004 GTO; its accelerator effort wasn't out of line with any other vehicle I've driven, and certainly no where near as stiff as the clutch, so I'd attribute it's stiffness to the modifications...

Love the vid! My 04 looks pretty much identical on the outside. Fake sap, sap grills, 05 hood, 06 tail/bumper, vmr wheels etc. I sure wish I had the supercharger though!

As an owner of an 04 GTO for almost 5 years, the interior was the best on the market at the time for anything under $40k. The kind of crap interiors that American cars thought was acceptable back then was ridiculous. It's one of the draws that had me ending up making the decision to get it over the Mustang and Camaro and Charger at that time. That and the HP/$ ratio.
My grandmother used to own this model, she sold it 9 months ago. I got my license 6 months ago, and she told me right before she sold it tht since she wasn't driving anymore she would give it to me, she forgot until after I reminded her haha.
Some people in this thread are calling it the Manaro. In Oz it's the CV8 Monaro. Not Manaro. The last rendition of this model in Oz is the CV8Z Monaro.
My uncle has a 2006 Pontiac GTO manual Performance Spec all black and it has 2 8 inch subs in the trunk and it’s built w 2 tunes the roam around town 650 and highway pulls 850 in Mexico ofc

The American Version of the Vauxhall Monaro VXR the Australian version looks pretty beast and aggressive in stock form but this is pretty agro.
Had to come back and watch again!!! 9:40- 10:05 was straight heaven to my ears.

What he needs is a ripshifter. That was the first mod I did to my GTO and it's a night and day difference. The ripshifter is very mechanical-feeling, yet very precise too, not that sludgy, shifting-through-shit shifter they put in the car from the factory. The shifter was one area where the GTO fell on its face, imo, that stock shifter was just BAD. It still makes me cringe to think about how it was.
Mine isn't supercharged though, unfortunately. Still a ton of fun to drive. The GTO, in its time, was probably the best value for money, at least as far as V8 muscle cars go. That may have been surpassed these days, as there are some real monsters out there. 400hp/400tq for $33,000 brand new, wasn't too shabby though.

The T56 is very notchy, I've driven my buddy's cobra in anticipation for my T56 swap, I can tell it's very rewarding once you get the shifting feel down

I have a 2006 Goat, and the back seat is surprisingly roomy. I had a Grand Prix GXP before it, and the GTO actually might have a tad more of foot space.
