I did not know they still made 409s in 1965. I had a 1965 Impala SS with a 327 350 horse and it was nice. Full power AC, Power Brake, Power Windows, It was yellow with Black Interior and the Bucket Seats. Of Course wish I had it now.
my dad got a 1967, new and similar, but it only had a 327 with an auto. Still, it was fast enough for me to lose my license for 6 months. I was only 17.
Very nice ride, love the dogs, just finished body off on my 66'IMPALA SS ZZ502/600HP..5SPD,3:42 America, the way it should be,never feel better than when I'm cruising in my classic
I remember when these cars were new. My uncle built an AMT model car of this and gave it a purple/pinkish paint job sitting low in the rear with twin dual swept antennas on the deck lid. I retaliated and built a 66 Buick Wildcat model just to spite him as to who built the coolest lowrider. This was all in the mid 60s I was a kid in elementary school and he was just 10 years older than me.✊😁
My granddad had a 1965 Impala SS fastback. It didn't have a 409 engine but a 327-inch displacement engine. It was the same shade of dark blue as this car but inside it had bucket seats with a big console in-between. It also had special wheel covers. My dad inherited the car and I used to love driving it. Lots of pep! I noticed this car has unusual options for the time. Power seats but no power windows.
Oshawa, the only plant in Canada building full size Chevy in 1965, had the 409 available the entire production year since the 396 was not made available to them during the 1965 production year
LOL oh my you went through those four gears so fast you got it up to 40 +WHAT A GIRLY BOY!!!! It ju8st goes to show the guy with the money gets the car LO)L

Outstanding dreamcar!
1965 with 409 very rare as the man has stated. They dropped the 2x4 for 65. Around February 65 the 396 came out thus canceling the409
Absolutely gorgeous
Like you said better than new. Looks laser straight I'm sure it didn't come from the factory that way and the way the panels all line up. Super Sweet!

A close up shot of the body trim tag would have been nice.
Had a '66 Impala Super Sport with a 396. It was great until you had to try to start it in winter in the midwest. Loved the car though
LOL

Yeah these cars aren’t for window shoppers
396 was mid year change however only 11% of fullsize in 65 came with 396
Anyone know if it's sold?
Hows the frame they usually break behind the front doors mid section
She's a beauty...only thing is the hood to fender fitment on passenger side....not good for the price.
