To every medico, This is what I should have known before entering medical school. It's okay to say an embarrassingly wrong answer during rounds(in front of the chief, PGs and your batchmates), It's okay if you feel like an alien on the first day of your posting but remember that there's no shame in learning from the staff. But it's not okay to lose interest in learning. Because every single day is your new chance at learning. Remember that human beings are different from each other, for example it took me two days to read, analyse and understand a few topics in GM, I thought I was a "duller" but to my surprise I scored 70% in general medicine which is pretty decent for me. Take your time with the topics you're weak in, don't forget the topics you're good at and let ppl make fun of you. (One girl made fun of me in third yr for a dumb answer I said, she failed GM... Karma exists, so stay calm and study) Good luck.

This brings me back to 2004 or 05, i have a very vivid memory of the year but during that year, one of my cousin brother got selected for both Jee and Pmt(Neet), he was very enthusiastic to pursue his dream of becoming an engineer, he yelled at me whole night screaming i'll become an engineer, but as the dawn arised and the next day started, he went to his parents and just for the formality he asked whether should he go for engineering or medical, and his parents urged him to go for medical instead, he tried his best trying to consult his parents for an entire week but nothing came to change thier mind and he was sent to a medical college, i saw the sadness beneath his soul as he left for the medical college leaving behind his dream of engineering but beside all sad odds, he completed his mbbs in clean and 15 years by now he is a proud orthopedic .

Well said doc. The last point though the most accurate. It doesnt end there. Learning goes on and on even if u become well established in your field. You still have to keep striving to do better for your patients. The passion for medicine keeps us going...i think
Some of my film courses were in the same building as the medical courses (the larger rooms and large screens were great for medical diagrams and film screenings!) and I always had mad respect for the med students talking about their homework and exams! It always made me feel lucky that my exams relied on pretty much movie trivia, world history/events that shaped the way and reason films were made, and equations for f-stops or lighting and all that.
This is so true!! I'm in final MB, my friends who took up engineering are doing full fledged jobs now. Still, hope is never a bad thing, and idk what I'd have done if I didn't take up this course! Peace out!.🙂

Yes. Thank you for your honest comments. I can relate. I failed for the first time in med school. And transition from being the best to just be happy with just passing is a hard reality. But ultimately, the numbers don't matter and the college rank doesn't matter. It matters how you are as a person and a clinician. Studies become lifelong and a part of your life. It does get easier if you come to love the subject and want to be a help to your patients. Also, starting a family and having close friends happen along the way.

Sir, I am really inspired by you and the hard work all the future doctors need to do for so long time .I am currently in 11 th standard and preparing for NEET 2022 .But I get confused and deviated very frequently as soon as I hear somebody or get to know about the incredible hard work and patience one needs to put in during the studying process and even after one becomes a doctor. I earlier used to watch him alot but now I have restricted and I find Dr A very practical about many topics on medicine.And as everybody knows Indian doctors are always the best in terms of practice and clinical approach.

The biggest challenge for MBBS INDIA is its NOT considered Equivalent to MBBS in UK or USA that too in this Internet age !!!!!!! Very unfair especially for Meritorious but Middle class doctors
Biology in +2 is a trap , you feel like you can achieve here in Medicine (by getting stupid marks in easy subject Biology), but all you do is Documentation and cocktail regimen ( fluid , pantop ondem , taxim ) Even if you do half the hard work as you do for Neet pG in Engineering , you'll be selected for abroad companies and live a better life

You'll have to write TOEFL(English exam) and USMLE Step 1, Step 2 CK, Step 2 CS and probably also Step 3. Quite a lot of exams.
