Then you go if he stayed in basketball, he "could've" played against greats like Shaq, Yao Ming, Hakeem, Patrick Ewing, Alonzo Mourning. Even Jordan & Kobe. Also with so many documentaries released on wrestlers, you see how they grew up & who their family members are.
@Mr. GoodKat alot of people grew up playing sports as a kid. Me for example I grew up playing basketball. So to know that again Taker played basketball as well makes me feel relatable to him. Or are you going to ask another "how is it related?" Question. . .
How the diving heatbutt, the move that crippled Harley Race and practically destroyed the Benoit family, hasn't been banned yet is beyond me. Also, Hogan used the lariat, which he called The Ax Bomber, to great effect in Japan.
Dynamite Kid also used a diving headbutt as a finisher and ended up in a wheelchair from it eventually dying in 2018 on his 60th birthday. Bam Bam Bigelow is another who used the diving headbutt as a finisher.
The Undertaker is a great example of a wrestler finding new finishers to help relieve the damage being done by their original one. Although the Tombstone will always be iconic, Undertaker made both the Last Ride and Hell's Gate work for him. It honestly leaves me wondering why more wrestlers don't add new finisher's to their move set whenever they undergo a dramatic character change. This would allow them both an excuse for the new move, and to move away from a move that is starting to effect them physically and to save it for rare highlights on big stages.
Chris Jericho also has a lot of different finishers which he picked up with his character changes. afaik none of that was due to injuries, but moves like the lion sault or the code breaker might lead to injuries if used exclusively over an entire carreer Maybe Jericho managed to dodge a bullet by switching his finishers so often.
DoubleCee, Taker, Don Muraco and others had to tear their knees while doing the Tombstone Piledriver. Taker even did a leaping double-knee bump when performing the Super Tombstone at WM 26 against Shawn Michaels.

The swanton bomb was easily the worst considering the height of the stunts they were performed in. Plus there were a lot of TLC matches Hardy’s participated in. Falling on hard objects and not seeing exactly where you’ll land on your back/neck area is probably the worst part, because he’d miss his target sometimes. The Undertakers knee issues are apparent. Everyone has some kind of problem and his is that you always see him limping backstage. In the mid-late noughties, he'd always drag someone out on the apron and punch/kick them a little before climbing up and doing a leg drop. He'd also get whipped into the ring steps A LOT and he ALWAYS went knees first. All of that is on top of the in ring leg drops and all the tombstones he gave throughout his career
With Austin, he's lucky he doesn't have tailbone and pelvis displacement. My father ended up with that from being a traveling salesman, driving for hours and hours each day. Always having a wallet filled with business cards that he kept in his back pocket. Sitting that much unevenly caused his tailbone and pelvis to re-position through the years and now he deals with extreme daily pains where the only time he has any issues from it is if he's standing up. Being almost 70 with bad knees, you can imagine it's not much fun.
@Abraham Lincoln But how though ? This video is about the person performing the finisher getting injured right ? (Although the video title technically says “finishers they regret performing”). I don’t recollect Seth getting injured because of performing the Curb Stomp..
If I was ever a professional wrestler, (which I wouldn’t want to, due to the fact I could easily get injured.) My choices for my finishing moves would be in order of safest for each style. For highflying, the second rope 630 senton. For striking, either Spinning heel kick (Black Mass) or the punt kick. For powerhouse, arm trap piledriver. For technician, either the stunt rider stretch, or the original Neutralizer. What do you people think.
What gets me with the shooting star press and similar moves, when the person taking it puts their knees up to counter. I cringe every damn time. Makes an already dangerous move a thousand times more dangerous.
Hogan could've used a clothesline from hell, I mean, it would've been more credible of a finisher than the legdrop since as he said in all his promos that he's got the largest pythons in the world. Also, didn't realize the RKO was one of the culprits for Randy's back issues, but I get it. Although, his first finisher, the overdrive was also causing him pain, so either it really is just the RKO or that Orton is just injury prone. I mean, others like DDP who uses basically the same move doesn't complain. Sure he doesn't jump, but hitting the mat could still cause back pains. And if maybe Jeff used a different finisher or wasn't a highflyer, since he uses the twist of fate which is also a cutter variation, we could know if the RKO truly is a somewhat injury causing move. Btw, aside from the clothesline from hell, I think Hogan could also have used a masterlock, camel clutch, an AA/FU (firemans carry variation), or could've used an armpit choke and then DDT. The setup for that would be Hogan would lock the guy's head in the initial form of the DDT with the head locked in the armpit area, then just waiting for about 5-10seconds kayefabe the guy would just stop wriggling faking passing out, then he'd DDT the guy while fake passed out then pin. I mean if Brock and Cena takes a while to keep their opponents over their shoulders, same with Goldberg holding the guys high for about 3-5 seconds, then why not Hogan holding a guy under his pits for 5-10 seconds then delivering a DDT once passed out, that would be more realistic than a guy getting pinned for 3 seconds after a basic legdrop
Hogan already had a clothesline from his days in Japan. He called it the Ax Bomber and it would of been a very effective move for him when he was part of the NWO. He should of switched then but he was too stuck in his ways.
I figured the stunner & the tombstone would be on here cuz you falling on your knees & your butt + the diving headbutt I get scared when Bryan Danielson be using it but anyway really good video.
This is why having a submission alternative finisher should be typical. No, they're not as exciting, but you gotta admit, The Sharpshooter, Crippler Crossface, Texas Cloverleaf, Figure-4, Scorpion Deathlock, Camel Clutch, etc. made for some iconic finishes.
With the exception of Sting, most of the finishers you just mentioned were used by guys who spent a good majority of their career as heels. Submissions seem to be mostly a heel thing whereas a babyface would often beat you with a big move.
I think among out of all this move sets, the best iteration is the RKO/cutter and the frogsplash... This both have aged liked fine wines when you least expect it, frogaplash being more height than ever in execution while rko/diamond cutter is pretty good in terms execution.. the rest can go really..
Taker using the hells gate as his finisher for awhile was the the result of years of doing the tombstone. I remember wrestlers actually bleeding from the mouth to show case how devastating it was.
Yeah, having to take repeated bumps on joints or your spine will inevitably mess you up, especially when doing it multiple times every single week for years on end.
Hogan had the Axe Bomber Clothesline from his days in Japan in his arsenal I don’t know why he didn’t just switch to that later on. Fans would of understood.
As someone with kneeproblems (and I am still in my 20s) I always wheez a bit when I see the tombstone piledriver and other moves that require the whole bodyweight to drop on the knees. Cant imagine the pain some of them go though at times for our entertainment. Wrestlers deserve so much more respect than they get.
Right? I've dislocated my right knee twice before I was 25. I'm 27 now and I drastically change the strain I put on my knees. and im just a normal guy 😂. I had fears I'd be a full on cripple by the time I'm 50. But seeing how guys like taker and triple h still talk after decades of legit dropping to their knees but are still able to talk gives me hope I will too
Well, there was, like, an almost 100lb difference between them when comparing the 2. Less weight likely means less damage to the spine, as well as making it easier to do in the first place
I've been saying this for so long finally somebody agrees. Matt Hardy had the best leg drop out of most the WWE superstars. It not only looked good but Matt got decent air time whenever he did it.
The stunner was a great finisher because it really allowed for the other person to sell the move. Some of those guys that took it, could then vault themselves into the air and it really looked impactful. Look at around 2:07. That is how you sell a move. Most other finishers, the person taking the bump are "out" and can't help sell the impact very much.
I can believe most of these, but I would have never thought of the leg drop being that dangerous. The Swanton Bomb doesn't look that dangerous... until you see all the places he does it from, and then you understand.
Well, think about what the leg drop actually entails; you jump into the air, and then you come down with your whole body weight landing on your spine. I actually slipped and involuntarily did the same thing 10 times in a row down the stairs, and my back has never been the same. And that was once; I can imagine what the result of doing it over and over again over decades could do...
I remember Kidman was injuring people with his Shooting Star Press because his knees kept hitting his opponent and later Vince banned the move for awhile...
You would of thought Randy's RKO would of hurt his shoulders more than his back considering where his opponent's head is landing and how his head is positioned. I honestly thought that the RKO was the reason why Randy has hypermobile shoulders now
hahaha 2:50 "It should only be used if the wrestler delivering it knows they can land it safely" and shows Billy Kidman fucking it up. That guy will never live that down. xDDD
That's why The Rock was so smart. He has 2 entertaining finishers in which it barely hurts him at all haha. I think the chokeslam is probably the best for the guy delivering it. But if wrestling didn't have guys like Hardy and benoit using finishers that put their body on the line so much, wrestling would never be as big as it is today
Definitely the Flying Headbutt was the worst in terms of physical repercussion. Harley Race, Dynamite Kid, Chris Benoit, they all used this finisher and suffered. While Harley Race invented the move, he did advise every future wrestler to stop using the finisher, as it screws your spine up and reduces your likelihood of old age. Harley Race tells Dynamite Kid to stop using the finisher, he becomes paralyzed and ends up in a wheelchair, Chris Benoit uses the flying headbutt and ends up losing his mind and murdering his family. Daniel Bryan was playing with a dangerous finisher. Even executing it perfectly has consequences. The Flying Headbutt, as amazing as it looks, is not worth it. It's not worth the repercussions that result in using the move. Concussions, CTE, Paralysis, brain damage, it's just not worth it. Definitely the saddest finisher that took out so many great wrestlers. (Source: Dark Side of The Ring; 'Benoit' episode 1 & 2)

The RKO seems like a pretty standard back bump. I feel like most wrestlers take bigger bumps than that regularly throughout their matches.
The rock taking the stunner is a beautiful thing...no one made it look as good as the rock
I figured the stunner & the tombstone would be on here cuz you falling on your knees & your butt + the diving headbutt I get scared when Bryan Danielson be using it but anyway really good video.
Eddie Guererro made Frog Splash move famous . RIP
The Diving Headbutt.
To be honest, I was impressed that Logan Paul held onto the phone.
"I had scoliosis brother" 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Im fuckin cryin😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
A smart wrestler would find a Good finisher that won't give him surgery's problems in the future. One smart man Was the Rock..
10 finishers WWE wrestlers regret doing
some of the most legendary finishers of all time.. that’s why these guys are appreciated so much differently
The butt ripper
Xpac
I think among out of all this move sets, the best iteration is the RKO/cutter and the frogsplash... This both have aged liked fine wines when you least expect it, frogaplash being more height than ever in execution while rko/diamond cutter is pretty good in terms execution.. the rest can go really..
woah not the pedigree
The Stone Cold Stunner and RKO are basically the same move
What about the twist of fate?
I forgot to find out what the rko felt like.
👍 welcome back original host guy
6:26 Jeff was one crazy dude that gave zero shits
2:15 that’s me with the “It’s my birthday” sign, proud to have made it into one of your videos!
Taker using the hells gate as his finisher for awhile was the the result of years of doing the tombstone. I remember wrestlers actually bleeding from the mouth to show case how devastating it was.
I was waiting for someone to mention that move
That isn't real bleed. Opponent makes it look tough by putting blood capsule in mouth
I love how everyone is going "i never understood how he could do that without being hurt". The answer is they never did, they just stfu about it
Was expecting the spiral tap too. Mentioning dynamite kid on the swandive also.
“The flying headbutt can cause CTE and brain trauma over time”
Chris Benoit: ‘YOU DON’T SAY?!”
This is why the stinkface is my favorite maneuver. Especially if it's done by someone like Mandy Rose.
Trish Stratus would make for a nice stink face
@@jamesalinio5277 oh!! 😍😍
Best channel ever
i thought this video was WWE Finishes, you should do a video of match finishes that WWE regret
But seeing how guys like taker and triple h still talk after decades of legit dropping to their knees but are still able to talk gives me hope I will too
Matt Hardy does better leg drop than Hulk Hogan though lol
6:10 Roman tells Logan that he is still a live 😂
hulk hogan’s leg drop
So much pain for such a boring finisher - leg drop
Moves such as Chokeslam and Sweet Chin music are popular, while also very safe for the performer himself.
That was a good selling of the stunner by Big Show
Love this channel
I remember Kidman was injuring people with his Shooting Star Press because his knees kept hitting his opponent and later Vince banned the move for awhile...
You would of thought Randy's RKO would of hurt his shoulders more than his back considering where his opponent's head is landing and how his head is positioned.
I honestly thought that the RKO was the reason why Randy has hypermobile shoulders now
I used to love to watch Billy Kidman wrestle. I never knew he messed up the shooting star Press so badly one time
That leg drop from the top of a cage is gruesome sheesh matt
hahaha 2:50
"It should only be used if the wrestler delivering it knows they can land it safely" and shows Billy Kidman fucking it up. That guy will never live that down. xDDD
Some of the things I knew about and other things I didn't know about wrestling finishing moves
Hogan ain't lying this time, I once did a leg drop one time when I got into a fight and no joke, it's aggravates your spine and back.
Hogan said he'd use the sleeper as a finish because that's the only other wrestling hold he knows.
ugh watching Lesner land on his head made me recoil 😂 that’s still brutal to see
Definitely the Flying Headbutt was the worst in terms of physical repercussion.

Dude with the tombstone and the pedigree I've always worried about the head, I didn't even think about the knees.
the flying headbutt.
who the hell thought that would be fun!!!
I don't think randy really regrets using his finisher, I think he just regrets doing so much of it
5 star frog splash, Swanton bomb, PURELY ICONIC
The Stinkface...the title card! 🤣🤣
Isn’t the original RKO from diamond Dallas page? The diamond cutter?
All physicle actions can cause problems try working in constuction or a number of other of other jobs at least they land on mats !
Bret hart " I'm going to create a finisher that will give my career longevity
Goldberg " hold my beer "
Hogan speaking facts his whole gimmick was he was the man with the world’s largest arms but yet his finisher had nothing to do with that fact
but who cares, imagine if Hogan had to do a freaking lariat or a sleeper against Andre at WM3?!
thank god Vince had the final say.
