Mike talks like he never expected to even live this long, I love him so much, I love how he’s evolved as a man & how he appreciates the small things that this life has to offer, he’s a great man
JimmyC Cee A lot of the stuff in his past was catalyzed by Don King and the other company Mike kept in the form of fake and bad friends. He was a good hearted guy from the start and they took advantage of a vulnerable kid and pushed him down a dark path, all for the money.
Mike Tyson didn’t grow up with a father, just a mother. That’s why when he says cus was unemotional like a father figure. A good father can say things that will make his son jump to high levels of greatness.
Wow. Cus was essentially the mother bird protecting Mike as he grew into an eagle in boxing. When Cus died, Mike was left unprotected and that's when the snakes came out and preyed on his lack of protection. These interviews really show how respectful Mike is. He's a real one.
Jay Dab Judah Mike has grown beyond the boundaries of their relationship and now empathetically sees Cus as a man who had faults and loves him more for it.
+Daniel Hernandez Its not the interviewer , Mikes been asked the same questions a million times....its mike wearing his heart on his sleeve as usual and being as real as u can get...as always
+Daniel Hernandez The interviewer is asking scripted questions which are decent, but he's not listening closely to the replies, so he's missing opportunities to ask follow-up questions that could deepen the conversation. For example, Mike explains how Cus got him thinking about how he would beat the top boxers, past & present (a brilliant strategy!), and the interviewer changes the topic to Cus's death. WTF? Put the script down and listen to Mike!
Cus would be so proud of Mike rite now overcoming all the obstacles in his life to the point of humbility. No amount of money in this world is more important than his health
See, journalists? THIS is the real Mike Tyson. This is what you get when you don't come into an interview with judgement or condescension. Graham, I'm so impressed with your interviews, I watch them religiously because you know how to get them talking, and most importantly, you let them talk.

Not as good as ali! Never! Thats why excuses dont work with tyson as ali suffered much more! His belt was stolen and was threatened to go to prison for 5 years! Lost first fight back to Frazier but after that destroyed Frazier in rematch then Forman to get back his belt and on and on he went for a decade! They got him only when he got Parkinson's at age 40 as he was just to old to fight! As he said after forman im the greatest of all times and when im 50 they might get me then bit im the king of boxing if you want to no anything about boxing dont go to no jimmy the greek dont go to someone in las Vegas come to Muhammad ali!! The greatest of all times! Period!
I've toiled about this subject and always leaned toward Ali in the past, but if Cus doesn't pass Mike ends career undefeated! Cus knew the formula for beating Ali, just found him too late!!!
Michael McKenzie interestingly enough Cus used to talk to Mike about all the old fighters Dempsey, Louis etc and how they could go about beating them but he always said nobody could beat Prime Ali because he’s the best ever.

Cus taught me everything but one thing he never taught me was that when he was no longer around/here (once he died) all the people around him, his friends would turn against him and me, probably that's because this people never liked me anyway but Cus forced those people to like me
I really enjoy these kind of interviews when the person being interviewed is not cut off and can talk freely. You are doing a great job! It's so fascinating seeing Mike being so emotionally attached to Cus after all these years, what an extraordinary relationship they must've had...

Mike is so much more intelligent that he gives him self credit for. we watched his struggles play out on tv and in magazines over the years, we saw how so many took advantage of him , we watched him reach the top, then hit the bottom, but mostly we saw him overcome all that life through at him. He is a very genuine person, and He is The greatest...
Great interview Graham. You've got a lot of humanity and sympathy. Real signs of strength, as with these two elements you bestow dignity upon your subject. DON'T lose this, don't trade it in for vanity or self importance. Good luck.

Instead like I said she and her mom took 200 mill you sued don king for 100 mil even tho you made him billions and at the end you were left with nothing but ppl coming for ur money , bankruptcy and all the looses and the pain you had to endure just cuz you trusted the wrong ppl at a peak of ur career those 3 years u lost while locked up who knows how good you really would have end up being cuz those 3 years were at peak of ur powers it' just sadness me watching and listening everything you went tru just cuz you had no one there to guide you tru life even know you seem and you talk like young kid inside mans body however it hurts me to say this but it was most of it was ur own doing and firing all the ppl cuss told you he was leaving u with and that no matter what those ppl could be trusted at the end 3 ppl came out as winners out of ur life Robbin givens and of course don king god knows how much money he made betting on Douglas to beat you in japan that's why he took u over there , so you wouldn't trane and not in shape with all those women going crazy for u over there while Douglas was training like never before it was all kings plan to ruin ur career while he makes himself rich as fu*k !!!
Sorry guys for all the wrong spelled words , it's 4 am here and I'm barely awake i just had to write something . I'm sorry again and I'm sure you guys will figure out what I was saying ! Be good everyone !
Had Cus been around for another 5-6 years Tyson would have been the greatest of all time without question. Tyson had such explosive power and he was without fear, but we will never know what could have been...
Elmedin Djuderija I agree with a lot of your points but Jimmy and Kevin were both robbing Mike as well. $2million a fight for a trainer ? 30% cut for the manager ? Come on they were both in it for themselves.
Just imagine that guy didn't take Mike Tyson to see Cus...
This guys fate, literally, changed by one meeting..
drcheekyisback 100%
drcheekyisback true. A lot of comments here talk about what if Cus lived longer etc all the while forgetting that if they never met in the first place Mike would wind up in jail for most of his life and we would not know him as a boxer.
Dead or 25 to Life... thank Cuss
Crazy how your entire life and life for all of us can change in a second. Surreal
Butterfly effect
I met my teacher I was homeless for 2 years. I told him I was homeless he said "I will not give you a place to stay but if you listen you will never be homeless again. That man rebirthed me and taught me everything. I understand this video.
What did he teach you?
What did he teach you?
Yo this is so so deep bro thanks for sharing it really heartfelt
World history in its true sense, economics, stock market,EGO man i needed that, and the inner God/ all religions down to the one they say upright on the square which is not a religion.
Is it the whole give a man fish or teach him to fish?? I leanred the power of that as an adult.
He is a good man. Everybody has a past, glad to see how Mike has grown as a human being.
I agree...people can learn alot observing Mike and his life. He's learned so much and changed so much it's incredible.
When he said, "I wish he would have saw me, I wish he would have seen my children"... awhh man, that hit.. I'm not crying, you're crying.
We still love you champ and its 2019.
Itzahk Pearlman no Frazier?
Hear, hear Karl,, HEAR, HEAR! Mike Tyson IS the GOAT.
And may be making a comeback this year.
What a fascinating human being.
One of the most fascinating people of all time.
Both Mike and Cus (for me)
yes indeed he could also be in a criminal mind doc
He wrote a great autobiography , Undisputed Truth
You can see the pain/ love in his eyes and hear it in his voice when he discusse Cus. True Loyalty and Love at its Finest
MIke is an empath. He feels everything very deeply. Sadness, rage, anger, hope, love - I can relate Mike.
Me too mate respect to you 👍🏻
"As a matter of fact, it's relieving to give up...."
- Take notes everyone.
What a guy, huge respect!
It's amazing how emotionally attached Mike still is to, Cus. It's still eating him alive even today... I love your style of interviewing. Outstanding, thank you!
Must have a great impact on a kid for someone to pick them up and tell them they're are great and capable of achieving things when no one has told them anything.
geggs1 of course he is. He was like a father figure. Emotions don't just completely go away
Mike talks like he never expected to even live this long, I love him so much, I love how he’s evolved as a man & how he appreciates the small things that this life has to offer, he’s a great man
Hes 100% authentic...I read his book...Love him as a person..don't care about his past.
JimmyC Cee A lot of the stuff in his past was catalyzed by Don King and the other company Mike kept in the form of fake and bad friends. He was a good hearted guy from the start and they took advantage of a vulnerable kid and pushed him down a dark path, all for the money.
JimmyC Cee Which book? There is a bunch.
Mike Tyson didn’t grow up with a father, just a mother. That’s why when he says cus was unemotional like a father figure. A good father can say things that will make his son jump to high levels of greatness.
Graham, my man, you are very good interviewer. You respect your hosts.
I don't care much about any "celebrity" but Mike is the man. I love that guy!
Tyson's big mistake was leaving Kevin Rooney in 88 as his trainer and going with Don King.
Kevin Trained my cousin in Catskill.
I've been saying the exact same thing for years.
Strongly agreed
So true Kevin Rooney was a true friend to Mike Tyson. King was a the worst person Mike ever met.
Yes.
Wow. Cus was essentially the mother bird protecting Mike as he grew into an eagle in boxing. When Cus died, Mike was left unprotected and that's when the snakes came out and preyed on his lack of protection.
These interviews really show how respectful Mike is. He's a real one.
True he stamped on the snake teddy shitless...he wouldve stamped on king, cayton and givens too....cayton tried to sneak in a 66% cut after jacobs died
Oprah should take notes on how to conduct a respectful, professional interview.
patriots is raw oprah a billionaire goh
Oprah is one of the most insightful interviewers ever. Ever.
IKR IMO she was very condescending in some of her interviews with Mike.
She's a bitch! I hate her. She used MJ before & even after his death to gain popularity. She's a fake ass bitch.
patriots is raw fuck that fat bitch!!!
Here is an example of a spiritually mature soul
Mike genuinely loved Cus man you can hear it when he talks about him... Much respect... Thats awesome...
Jay Dab Judah
Mike has grown beyond the boundaries of their relationship and now empathetically sees Cus as a man who had faults and loves him more for it.
Pure heart! Pure heart on both sides, cus & tyson! Such a wonderful bond!
His growth and maturity as a man is truly astounding.
and he can STILL knock a mans head smooth off
Hard to believe how smart Tyson was until you listen to him and how well he understood things after he grew up
I think it's fair to say, with all he's been through, mike is a success.
Muh Dewd What a lovely comment
HE CRUSHES ME! I CRY MY EYES OUT WHEN HEY TALKS ABOUT HIS RELATIONSHIP WITH CUS! I LOVE MIKE!
Graham Bensinger is the best interviewer I have ever seen.
+redandsonny Untrue, but I very much appreciate the kind words!
+Graham Bensinger lol your are the best "we have seen" great job
grahm is the most stupidest interviewer ive ever seen.
+redandsonny Larry King's better, and Nardwuar.
+redandsonny he's only 29 years old, he's relatively really young, I'm really surprised in comparison to Larry King who is 81 years old
You can see him looking at one place reminiscing, bring all the emotions back
JoeKickass324 at 4:03 after he says he got adopted after his mother died u see it.
This this is such a great interviewer. All his interviews are great.
+Daniel Hernandez Thanks, Daniel!
damn daniel
I'm surprised this channel doesn't have more subs
"It's relieving to give up" Powerful lesson he spoke there.
Mike was the best heavy weight boxer. There will never be another "Iron Mike".
You know something, I've this story a thousand times over and it never gets old. Amazing.
"it's relieving to give up"
wow
it's true some ppl don't have just like Mike says ...they want to give up
That ending was pretty amazing, and so true.
ruclips.net/video/wG4I3ltk1vA/видео.html
yeah a powerful, revealing line
I will never forget that quote from The Champ
Cus would be so proud of Mike rite now overcoming all the obstacles in his life to the point of humbility. No amount of money in this world is more important than his health
It’s a beautiful thing hearing Mike talk about Cus
Mike was a monster in the ring and yet outside the ring he is pretty humble and emotional cool guy. Great guy!
This is by far one of the greatest men on the planet... Love this man
I dont care what peeps say about iron mike, this man was a terror in the heavyweight division absolutely killen boxers !!
+Jae Ho Song he sen't more ppl into retirement than the insurance companies would have liked.
He fought with fear, and scared to disappoint, that made him very dangerous
who says he wasn't I've never heard anyone talk shit on Tyson
+Drupp12 People talk alot of shit about him and try to discredit his wins and knock outs
Mike have always been surrounded by much envy. The truth is he's one of the most talented HWs ever and noone could touch him through 1986-1989 period.
iron mike is one of the reales mfs alive
See, journalists? THIS is the real Mike Tyson. This is what you get when you don't come into an interview with judgement or condescension. Graham, I'm so impressed with your interviews, I watch them religiously because you know how to get them talking, and most importantly, you let them talk.
That is too kind, thank you so much for watching! -AD
in cus he found a father figure......all boys need that and he hadnt had that up to that point........thats why he clearly loved him so much
j mason cus didn’t say it he SHOWED it making him breakfast and shit man 😢
@@JeremyCayaban that's a real father figure. Make your own food
Girls need fathers too
@@Kirchoff7 Girls need fathers even MORE than boys....Almost Every girl without a loving father or father figure ends up with a bad boy on welfare a single mother and many times sliding up and down a pole for dollas
Cus was literally his adoptive father
Mike tyson will always be the best in boxing in his prime, his defence was impregnable.
Euphanasia His style was impetuous, he's the most ferocious and most brutal haha love that clip
@@utoresa5193 praise be to Allah!!!!
IM JUST FEROCIOUS
I'm the best eva
@@utoresa5193 lol 😆
It doesn't get realer than Mike Tyson!
speaks from the heart
as a professional at reading body language, everything he’s saying for 11 mins straight is straight from his heart i promise you.
I dont think he's not ever honest with himself
8:35 That heavy breathing and the expression on Mike's face while he was listening to his own words he said after D'Amato's death, recalling that moment and emotions... it just brought tears to my eyes.
lastelin Me too. Well spotted.
"its really easy to give up, as a matter of fact...umm...its relieving to give up" - wow
real man tell truths
It’s really scary this.statement is so true
the love he has for cus man.
Mike Tyson is a hell of a lot wiser than most people realize... The relationship he had with Cus is absolutely amazing. He probably wouldn't be what he is without him.
If Cus didnt pass away, no doubt Mike Tyson would have been the greatest of all time WITHOUT ANY QUESTION!!!
Not as good as ali! Never! Thats why excuses dont work with tyson as ali suffered much more! His belt was stolen and was threatened to go to prison for 5 years! Ended up loosing his belt and fighting card for 4 years and came back and concurred the fighting world! Period!
He is arguably the greatest of all time !
I've toiled about this subject and always leaned toward Ali in the past, but if Cus doesn't pass Mike ends career undefeated! Cus knew the formula for beating Ali, just found him too late!!!
He was the greatest of all time in his generation. Just like Ali was of his . I know I’m not alone in this opinion
Michael McKenzie interestingly enough Cus used to talk to Mike about all the old fighters Dempsey, Louis etc and how they could go about beating them but he always said nobody could beat Prime Ali because he’s the best ever.
Mike Tyson is one of the reasons why I went into teaching! He is real, he is powerful, he is complicated, and he is one of the most impressive humans I have ever watched evolve!
This man is a living LEGEND!
One of my heroes. even when he was down he got up. Great video
Mike always tells it like it is, nothing sugar coated, just the honest truth. Magnificent interview as always.
Thank God for men like Cus who brought a delinquent out of juvenile detention and made him the world champion!the world was made a better place thanks to the glory and heights Mike achieved through Cus's influence.
“It’s relieving to give up“ so so true.
"No Cus to tell me how I did. No mother to show clippings to."
:(
Dang no reason to win...no more
@Jiu Jitsu Dweeb 100%
That's seriously deep and powerful
Heartbreaking to hear that. At the end of the day we’re all alone in some sense.
What made it even worse to survive that storm was age and astronomical fame and mike was very educated kid. There were three M’s out of this world at this time.
Mike Jordan
Mike Tyson
Mike Jackson
Mikes face at 3:31. Such sadness in his eyes as the the thoughts flood through his mind.
Honest.. Real.. Mike Tyson. Listening to him makes my eyes glass over. Thanks for doing such a great job interviewing him.
when cus died this man passion for boxing and most of things in life died as well
cus was really like a father to him
Such a deeply thoughtful and reflective man. A great heart and a great mind. Thank you always, Mr. Tyson.
I think Cus loved Mike so deeply he couldn't even begin to describe it. Mike always makes sure he shows his gratitude with how he speaks about Cus. It's a beautiful thing.
great interview.........
well done
+Shad Tunison Thanks, Shad!
Welcome Graham Graham Bensinger....keep up the great work , great interviews.
What a great fucking interviewer!! He literally goes back an forth, and slowly dig deep into a person!
I love Mike Tyson. He speaks from the heart.
What an intelligent, articulate guy. Great interview.
One of the most honest athletes when talking about himself. Mike gets better as he ages and i enjoy listening to his life events. He's a accurate boxing historian as well. Iron Mike ...always have and always will my #2 Greateast boxers of all time considering his journey. Great interview!
This interview brings back so many memories of Mike, thank you Graham.
+Roger San Gabriel Thanks for watching, Roger!
This is my first Mike Tyson interview, he’s actually very intelligent, sensitive, and extremely honest, which I love.
No matter how many times, or how many years have passed... Every time Mike Tyson talks about Cus he'd choke a little. That's how deep Cus got into his head and his heart.
He still gets choked up when he speaks about Cus. 💞💔😢
I LOVE YOU MIKE!!!!
This is the best, most open interview of Mike Tyson I have ever seen. Graham, my hat is off to you. I have seen a LOT of stilted, awkward interviews with Tyson, but you managed to open him up about his relationship with Cus. Now, I understand a lot more. Thanks for this.
Cus taught me everything but one thing he never taught me was that when he was no longer around/here (once he died) all the people around him, his friends would turn against him and me, probably that's because this people never liked me anyway but Cus forced those people to like me
I like seeing mike laugh it makes me smile
I really enjoy these kind of interviews when the person being interviewed is not cut off and can talk freely. You are doing a great job! It's so fascinating seeing Mike being so emotionally attached to Cus after all these years, what an extraordinary relationship they must've had...
Literally the only interviewer I can watch and a legit tough guy that’s moved away from his old ways and now wears his heart on his sleeve and is not afraid to show it. It’s sad to think about all the people that took advantage of him. You gotta admire the guy. Great interview Graham.
Mike Tyson is a Sweetheart.
Nice interview. This is one interview that Mike seems comfortable and happy to talk.
Great interview Graham. You've got a lot of humanity and sympathy. Real signs of strength, as with these two elements you bestow dignity upon your subject. DON'T lose this, don't trade it in for vanity or self importance. Good luck.
+Kenneth Appreciate that, Kenneth. Thanks for watching.
2 years later: He did.
Well it's two years later and you did (as they all do).
*"I wish he would've saw my children"*
Damn man, thats a different level of respect for someone right there ❤
I could listen to him talk about Cus all day long. Mike is an extraordinary soul. Cus must be so proud ❤
