    Thanks for viewing, please consider subscribing to see new and future videos. I understand that something happened after the upload where there is a 10 or so second blackout of video, but audio is fine. It doesn’t last long, my apologies, can’t fix it until I’m back from a business trip. Thanks again!

    Great discussion on the compression bits. As a new owner of a Onefinity who has yet to cut anything, this was very helpful to understand the makeup of the bit. I bought a basic quality starter set (U.S. made as well) that didn't include any compression bits, but as a new person to the hobby it is natural to want to have what you need on hand when you get going. So the advice is very well taken.

    I use downcut and compression on the Whiteside for my main speaker box CNC and I love the Yoniko flush trim bits, double bearings. But those are for cleaning Tabs. A lot of people can use this video, Your doing great big guy. I should mention I do 90% MDF which a lot of this wont matter for. And ty for the talk about not using your bits as throw away, Anyone that owns a Amana bit knows better than treating them as a throw away tool LOL.

      Yeah, mdf not having a grain helps, but I’d imagine the high glue content is hard on bits? I know it sure gunks up my saw blades when I use it.

    This was perfect timing JR! I was just asking the question today to a friend, "What bits should I buy first?" I knew I wanted a variety of up, down, and compression. I never thought about the amount of up vs. down on a compression, so this definitely saved me some headaches before buying.
    Also yes, I will be buying quality bits sourced from the US. I'm big on buying it right the first time, over buying it multiple times for less.

      Hi Mijo, thanks for watching, so glad it helped. I recommend for people who are interested in the shallowest transition, to consider the Jenny line of bits from cadence manufacturing, link is in the description. (Not sponsored, just my advice). Hey J.R, have you done a video on that slatboard looking stuff you have in the back above your head in the video. That looks unique and nice for the shop to clean up and add some shevling. What is that ?

    • @TradeSkillersAnonymous

      That’s a French cleat wall. Super handy, works like slat wall like you’d see at a retail store, fully able to reconfigure the entire wall to your changing needs for storage. There’s some good videos that cover it, look for “French cleat”, I love it

    At about 16mins it goes black for a few seconds when you talk about the juice groove bit. What is the size of that bit you were showing?
    Thanks so much for another informative video.

    • @TradeSkillersAnonymous
      @TradeSkillersAnonymous  3 года назад +1

      Oh no….I will look into what went wrong. It would’ve been a 3/8 whiteside cove/bowl bit which I’ve found to work great for juice grooves. Thank you Liz for pointing that out!

    I agree with buying local.
    That being said, if you are going to make undersize shank claims, get the micrometer out and show us. Collets have tolerances that they can work with, so I am not sure what type of undersize you are implying you found in import bits that caused problems. Also, if you are going to make edge retention claims, run tests and show us.

      Hi Cosmin, thanks for your feedback. I'm not an industry watch dog, so my intent wasn't to laboratory test edges and this would be the hardest thing for an individual to perform as you've suggested. Im just a guy, sharing my thoughts through the lens of my limited experience, hoping to help out others. Drop a link though if you do those tests, I'd be interested to watch it. Thanks and have a great day.
