Grob was a fantastic keeper despite the odd howler and good enough for Paisley, Fagan and Dalglish. His agility was incredible. His wobbly legs won the 1984 European Cup Final.
Even when Liverpool were at their most majestic, we always considered Old Trafford to be as difficult a match as at the Bernabeu or San Siro, Nou Camp etc. Always loved the Danny Murphy winners we used to get in 2000/01 after getting pasted at 0-0 for 89 minutes! A classic encounter always, and always will be. The Scousers have a good boss now to take them back into top 5 potential, that's what the club needs. Man U are now exactly what Paisley's LFC were, professional but with swagger.
Two good teams playing good football. Don't believe the hype from Sky about football today being the best. Useless stats today and this constant passing without getting anywhere.
I was in the Stretford End for that game ; would have liked to be in the Stretford Paddock with Si as I used to feel quite safe as a Liverpool fan in there. Liverpool were lucky to get away with a point in that game
I remember this was the commentary match on Sport on 2 and the featured second division match was at Loftus Road, what a game that was QPR 5 Newcastle 5 Newcastle lead 4v0 at halftime

We got our revenge for those danny murphy games by getting last gasp winners from Ferdinand in 2006 and O Shea in 2007 haha The way it's going tho, the scousers will be finishing higher than us this year :(
God i miss real football, when men were men,and when there pay wasn't a king ransom, and there was only one person or two talking all the bloody time, and and am sick of hearing about Messi, yes he is great player, but then teams today are not allowed to tackle ,and he truly played the greats, then Messi would be buggered, but still probably be in Maradona class, hopfully with out the cheating.
You make a good point. Today's football superstars have played in an era without proper tackling. You'd have to put them in a time machine and take them back to the 70's to see how good they really are.
It's nothing to do with overseas players, it's just the way the game is played and administered these days. When Liverpool won the double in 85/86 they hadn't got a single English player in their team.

Back when you could get a ticket, and when you could stand with your mates. Oh and we celebrated when we scored instead of pulling a phone out.

Fair play to Alan Parry, always did a good professional job even when he must have been desparate for Liverpool to win.
It looked like a puff of wind could have blew over Jesper Olsen but what a tough man he was. English football was far more aggressive back then too..
Jesper Olsen was a good player if his team were 2-0 up but pretty useless if they were 2-0 down.
