- More talking episodes soon. I've wanted to make a moving version of the cover of 'Unknown Pleasures' for years.
So here we are. This is the backing track I used for last week's King Tubby episode and I've tried to be as faithful as possible to his styles.
Yes, I uploaded this track before but this is pretty heavily dubbed, you know how it goes by now.
If anyone's interested I could do an episode on some of these. I've been using a lot of @airwindows plugins to build custom consoles. They're not historically accurate but they're adaptable. To me they sound less digital than I've ever heard from a DAW. Luckily now, unlike Tubby we don't have to build devices, we can just drag and drop.
Oh and if you want me to make a visualiser for you then sorry but you would not believe how time consuming this was.
And yes, it's a different aspect ratio. There were a lot less lines this way lol. 21 hours of rendering went into this btw.
I thought learning DaVinci would be easy. It's not. But I've managed to get my head around some techniques I'll be using on later videos.

its a beautiful thing :) Mad Professor said in the awesome "Dub Echoes" documentary something like "everything can be a dub, you just have to find it".
It is beautiful. Dub makers are like sculptors. They start with a lump of rock and carve holes out of it. All about the negative space.
Wonderful work, you've managed to capture/recreate my headspace of 1975-81. Love your versions.
Thankyou, seemed obvious for me to combine them. I'm a few years younger that you but these were two things in my own headspace at a similar stage.

Those are the words I thought when I started this whole thing. Turns out they're russia's longest running reggae band. Well done lads. The did the obvious 'Dub will tear us apart'. I'll let you make up your own mind on how it stands up as a dub.
