As a former PDI tech, when SVT cars and truck arrived , only the SVT certified PDI tech was allow to drive , for inspection , check fluids , convoy damage ,missing parts, brake pads, oil pan busted , removed rusty hold downs, but to make a long story short, perform a three miles loop, and Finish with a state inspection , but sometimes ,not often , special SVT pre order ,had more miles than they should have , there will be a tag on the window , that shows how many miles was added for testing, and second reason , all the above, but keys are kept in pairs at the dealership, sales Manager office ,and file room , there should be a log ,on the computer, who check out the keys .
Your enthusiasm is contagious. I Enjoy all your content and how you present it. You are a fine young man and I look forward to seeing what’s next for the GT500 and C8. Will you be putting a deposit down on a ZO6?
Congratulations bro, I’m taking delivery of my gt350r tomorrow. There are some really good deals out there now on the gt350r. I’m super excited to finally be getting one.
One problem I had with mine tho, f’ing insurance. I never been told no, why not, just charge me the insurance rates. I was actually turned down, with no bad driving record, they just don’t like insuring the shelbys. Go figure. Of course got insurance but phew, $$$.
I was disappointed when the other two Gt500's were sold but listening to you while driving and handle that beast made up for it some how. Enjoy and congrats bro!!
Those 20 miles could be from the stripes getting painted. They aren’t done at the factory they are done at a near Penske shop after the car is done being built near the factory so maybe that explains that.
I'd be asking all kinds of questions about why my $100k car has 20 miles and G force readings... and it had no gas and wasn't washed either, great customer relations right there...
Most cars that are shipped don't have gas for safety reasons. Also it was being transported the whole time so it wouldn't get washed since how would they anyway ? It's not a big deal just wash it yourself, you ain't no princess so deal with it and clean your own car, i would want to. G force readings and all those miles are likely from taking it to the paint shop and transportation and testing, no big deal honestly, it happens.
I have this same exact car and I can tell you mine came with 20 miles also. I have seen some other track pack posts and 20 miles seems to be the number for these. Interesting
Hey man check your dash out, theres some weird smudge over your speed that keeps popping up. might wanna have ford check that out, could be a factory defect ;)
Dude I think you're one of the very very very very very few guys who will actually take this car out and track it. The other 90% plus people who own this car will just put it in the garage and admire it. Love your videos keep them coming.
Ford would have been watching your videos so they probably doubled up on the check over to make sure its going to perform without any little issues. ...
2:25 The readouts on the G-Force gauge tell me someone took that car for one hell of a test drive for 15 kms before you got it! You should contact Ford about it, there might be an astronaut working there!
Awesome first Drive Video and loved your delivery video as well!! Keep up the amazing work and looking forward to your future vids! You're awesome! Soon as I get my R and 1000 I'll posting videos as well. Maybe once my 1000 is done love to have you do a video with my cars! Hope all is well and stay safe
Hey man idk if you’ll see this, but hold in the left shift paddle, it’ll down shift to a good gear, like if your going 60 in 6th gear hold the left paddle in and it’ll drop it to 4th or 3rd
Beautiful machine! The two best 'muscle' cars available today are the Camaro ZL1 1LE and the Mustang GT500 CFTP.. I own the ZL1 1LE. Wish I could add this beast to the stable also! Enjoy her!
Austin. Your joy is contagious. Congrats. Obviously someone was testing the performance at Penske. I still think You ought to get a toy hauler for track days.
Always liked these videos he does. I’m sure by now he has developed the skills to ring this baby out. Look forward to many more videos from the Phenom. Proper name he has earned .
Amazing feeling just watching you ride that beast and yeah I'm also upset at who the hell put 22 miles in your long await it super cool mustang, I feel you my brother, anyway have a bless ride and definitely enjoy the power
9canadianboy nope. 22 miles is nothing on a new car. This car can be sold as brand new even with a couple thousand miles. As long as it hasn’t been registered before
Yes you are correct. Ford like all Manufacturer's do pull random vehicles from the factory and test them for different reasons. There should have been a paper sticker on the wind screen with a upc scan label stating how many miles ford placed on your car in testing. Next is a question for the masses. Did i watch this video correctly? You did only drive 100 miles for break-in? I would at least drive 500 miles than change the oil and filter bare minimum. Is that why so many GT350 lost thier engine's? If that's truly the case, God love modern technology and the power it gives us. Bless you and look forward to seeing you at the track soon.
Yes only 100 miles, and then 1,000 miles for track use! The GT350s lost their engines because owners were not checking their oil levels often enough and or not tightening the oil filters correctly to Ford's OEM Torque Specs. It's 5.2L Voodoo Flat Plane Crank is a racing motor, and requires the oil to be checked every now and then (not very often). It is a big, 8,000+ rpm, revving V8, so it consumes oil quicker than normal cars. It's not at all a problem, my GT350R has been fine since 2016... The GT500 seems to be better on oil consumption though! Hope this info helps explain everything! Thank you for the kind words! We will be at the track ASAP.
@@SpeedPhenom SP, I have to agree with Joe. There should be some documentation that they pulled and tested the car. I would certainly contact them for the piece of mind. Otherwise somebody better do some explaining. Regarding the break in, I would go a little longer before bouncing it off the limiter. Put a magnet on the oil filter too for that extra protection. Regardless, a great car! Well done.
20 miles, I gave my take on this already. It's very suspect. Your joy clouds out the concern. You should still inquire Shelby on that. At least for us dreamers
I agree. Someone needs to explain the mileage and the Gs on the dash imo. Obviously the 20 something miles and g's were done before break-in period. That would concern me
That car looks and sounds amazing. Looking forward to a video of the car moving taken outside the car. I can’t wait to see it on the track! Thanks for the video.
Gotta say, Austin, when you showed the cost of the car I thought "a $100,000+ MUSTANG???? ARE YOU KIDDING ME?" But, I've got to say, it's real, REAL, impressive! The throttle snap when you came out of the corners was really impressive, as was the apparent massive amounts of grip in the corners.
Why I follow speed............he drives/explains the car, doesn’t have 5 guys with him yelling bro, bikini girls, a commercial every 2 min, best vette/mustang RUclips post out there, and he owns the cars. Keep up the great work.
they have test drivers for a lot of higher end vehicles to test brake function and other possible issues that might appear on a new vehicle. Lamborghini test drives every single car for at least a few KM after it least their factory floor. Best job in the world in my opinion.
My 2019 Shelby GTH although it sat on a lot for over a year and a half also had about 20-21 miles on it 22 by the time it got to me with the one and off the truck
Beautiful. I am wondering dose it tramline as bad as the shelby gt350. I live in upstate NY and my shelby dose Ridiculous. But then again the roads up here SUCK.

Thanks Ricardo! I am getting mine PPF'd at Elite Finish next to San Diego! Great team there! The owner also owns a Shelby! Make sure to mention me if you give them a call, they'll hook you up! :)
I have to say I'm blown away by the view count on this video and your last one when you picked up the car. I feel like RUclips either isn't counting certain views that they used to or they're sandbagging your channel for some reason.
Hi from UK, I would love this in Right hand drive over here! You mentioned it had a Predator engine in the collection video, what’s the difference to the Coyote?
It's absolutely beautiful and amazing. Watching you drive that highway was like it was on rails. Looking forward seeing you on the track. After reviewing the CFTP Shelby. It's basically a race car with turn signals
So which will you like better - the new mustang or your “old” Corvette? Do an in-depth comparison video. Do you think the mustang is just making the best of the old platform until they can pull a C8 rabbit out of their hat - a la the new Bronco?
I really think someone best on your car.. The G meter shows that.. Donuts? That's very unfortunate for a car of that price. I wouldn't be happy.. In my opinion, it's the best looking GT500 on RUclips right now. And I'm happy to know you will be driving it like it should be!
Awesome stang! Love my 2019 GT350. Looks like you drove down Pala Rd. to Hwy 76...I live in Temecula. I also recommend you put the 5-layers lifetime warranty application of Ceramic Pro ceramic coating over your PPF, glass, plastic, wheels, calipers, springs like I did... (Top to Bottom Detailing) looks amazing & never have to wax.
Congratulations on your new Stang, I love it, and that's saying something cause I've been a Chevy man most my life. I can relate to your excitement. I appreciate all your videos. As far as the 20 miles, I used to work at a ford leadership and there is something called new car prep. I can't speak for anyone else but when I got a car to get ready, especially a performance machine, I would put it through it's paces. It was required to go for a test ride and that I did lol.
What PPF Shop do you go to in southern calif? Im looking for a good place to take my car? What canyon roads route are you driving at? I wanna try that route
22 miles is not from uc bs. Techs from Ford drove it dude! It's a fact, they have been doing it for years . My friend bought a Mustang cobra R and went to pick it up right when the tech was coming back to the dealership, sideways. I guarantee the tecks at the dealership you got it from took turns driving it, especially when it will be the only type of car on the lot.
Someone could have driven the car. Anyway the dealership can see what it’s been rev’d to? Is that saved in the memory? I’d look into that. Do some investigating and make a video about it.
There’s no way the car is completely broken in as he put it at just 100 miles. I’m sure the first 100 miles are the most vital but I’d say to be safe you don’t want to push the engine hard or rev it too high until at least 500miles and even then you gotta do your first oil change before you can really push the motor. Otherwise your oil is filled with metal shavings that will damage the motor if pushed hard. That’s why the first oil change is the most important oil change to get all those metal shavings out of oil.
