- This is the 5-minute-build video of our Seat Ibiza race sim rig. We have done this project during the first covid lockdown.
Used car: 2000 Seat Ibiza 1.9 TDI
Used components:
- keyboard controller for the buttons in the dashboard
- Old sharkoon 300 watt ATX Powersupply
- Arduino Uno for the dash and gauges
- Raspberry PI 4, 4GB for the navigation panel with extra dash displays
- Thrustmaster RS500 wheel and pedals
- Thrustmaster shifter
- Thrustmaster Sparco handbrake
- Simhub software

Using real car parts makes so much sense. The decision to cut the car to save space also made a lot of sense.
If there was an arcade where there was a real car being used as a game controller, I'd go there. What a cool idea.

As the "GameBoy" was released, it took 2 years.....a lot of saved money and a big spend of my grandma before I finnaly could play super Mario.
Now I am turned 40 and fullfilled my dream of a price reasonable sim rig in second hand......and now I see this. I hope the kid is happy as me when I watched this. Pricless Dad!!!!

Вот это симулятор класс, супер я б сказал. Это гениальное изобретение браво пареньку. И его отцу. Что пошел на встречу своему сыну. По задумке такого симулятора. Даже не пожалели деньги на старую машину. Разрезали часть, передней. И еще комнату перетащили. Это большая работа. Но оно этого, стоило. Браво и парнишке за гениальность. Я не удивлюсь если он, может и настоящую машину водить.
В настоящее время он учится водить машину. А тем временем старенькая Тойота готова по-настоящему начать ездить.

During summer we are more outside working on real cars :-) the sim is not used that often :-)

if you have an thrustmaster peddles you can turn them into real peddles if you find the manual to turn it into real way peddles real meaning inverted
Ohhh how i wish i could've been fortunate enough to afford to build a stationary car in my room all for one game. I was always on the Playstation or xbox diet
in theory most of it is also possible with console but not the dashboard 🙂

This is awesome! I want to learn how to wire up a dashboard to a sim rig..... this thing is amazing!!
There is another video on the channel with more technical info, basically it is easyer on a car from the pre canbus era (like ours), you will just need some transistors, a 12 volt power supply, an arduino and the sim hub software ... we spend most time on re-engineering the pin out of the dashboard as car manufactors are not keen to give you those details, not even in their tech workplace handbooks.

Dope, two more monitors for left and back would be insanoflex
The monitor can be turned aroudn 180 degrees in order to sit at a desk in the engine bay and use the computer as a regular PC / Workstation

You are a very good racer and drifter. We own an Seat Ibiza but other generation (2002) and i would never be able to do this thing to our car. I love our car so much and i wish for setup that you have. I would also install the speakers into door panels and i would connect hoses from radiator from home to heater core in the dashboard so i can heat up my interior in winter. I would also left the interior fan working so in hot summer day i will be able to cool my self down a little bit. But i believe this was not that easy to do so respect. I am also very happy that you left side windows working and it would be awesome if you will leave the old original steering wheel from car on your steering wheel. I like it, i like all the job you w/ your dad did. Very cool setup bro!
Hey , we placed computer fans behind the vents so there is air circulation :-) powerwindows, mirrors etc do actually work. Heating is not needed as it gets already hot due to the computer system being in the back and the total thing being installed inside the room. This car was a banger, the bottom of the car was fully corroded, the engine was leaking and had exhaust gas / emmisions issues, interior was not at it's best and the overal state of the car was very very poor. Mainenance was long time due and it had one of those vw diesels from the beginning of diesel gate making it very expensive to put it back on the road in Belgium, that's why we gave it this second life instead of shredding it fully.

Really Really awesome, if I could give a suggestion I’d attempt to lower the tv screen maybe even get a slightly bigger one
