I remember the scene of her driving in and wondering what her husband was up to filming her walking inside the house and seeing the SIM for the first time. Most surprising thing was that she didn't freak out like any other typical Aussie wifey, she actually wanted to try it out. Ever since most of us were kids this has probably been a dream of ours… I’ve grown up, learnt to drive a real car, yet to drive a rig like this is something I will always ALWAYS want to do.
for some reason this is more of a goal than getting a car for me... probably because once you pay for everything there is no more money spent on the rig and to drift you dont need to spend money on tires
Not sure how old you are I remember a rig in the arcade with the old blocky OG graphics and you had to drive the car around a loop and it was really hard hit I always wanted to drop a quarter in it, that and the Aega Rally sim.

To have a setup like that you actually need a wife like her. Because 99 out of a 100 women will give you the death stare if you mention a car sim setup.

Been in a rig like this where the scenario is already done up - and it was very fun and the motions definitely felt convincing that the car was going forward/sideways. But this is a whole new level! To be able to give input to get a dynamic output like this is just something I've always wanted to experience.

I have seen many racing sims and I have to say using these huge monitors/tvs and that plastic that goes between the screens to hide the gap with the lights off really makes this look so fucking real. I have to admit this is probably the best looking sim setup in someone's home period and tbh even better than most I have seen commercially. It looks so good even when crashing.
This is sooo over the top, but sooo cool to watch. It is so easy to believe you are filming in an actual car, the visuals are stunning! Fun times and Happy Anniversary!

I would go to the race track irl. But people also play fifa or nba games and i never understood this when you can just go out in reality. I only like games that i cant do in real life like unreal tournament / tekken or such. As a kid its fine but now as an adult i want to live the real things. The setup us still impressive to habe build.
Don’t forget about never ending maintenance and broken parts.b Then max races you can do bus probably 2 in 1 month due to travel time, money, and hotels.

Yeah, right, I know I'm super late to the party, but this is just so awesome! As a motorcycle driving "Angeleno", I have to say that I thought it was Highway 2, then when you confirmed it to your wife as "canyons in Los Angeles" I was VERY impressed. The rendering of the scenery, road, elevation changes, etc. all are very spot on. Personally, I've never driven (or ridden) it in the wet, but this was so fantastic to watch and enjoy! Man it's so cool to see someone finally have close to my setup, I did this but for a transport, so I have huge boxes I cut out and placed a crap ton of buttons, and its all laid out like a big Peterbilt...This is cool to see in a car version though....I also didn't spend 100k though... maybe 11k ish lol...I also run 2 smaller monitors that are just for mirrors it's kinda neat when driving trailers etc...anyhow, amazing job on yours man! It's not defensive, it's massively dangerous especially in daily driving. You dont have any control over your car when all of a sudden a child runs in front of your car. Besides many other rather minor things on their own, this is one of the biggest reasons for car crashes.

Great video as always. Maybe, every once in a while, you can swap your pedal cam window with the view from behind that awesome rig. With the big screens and, I guess, the action of the motion tracker, the motion of your rig isn't as obvious. Keep up the good work and the fun.
I remember when my dad had one of these... it was built inside a VB Holden supercar and he used to tow it to carnivals and events. He set it up at home, had me perfect Bathurst then he put challenges out to the public to beat me (I was about 10 or so) had to pay double the price if you lose or got the ride for free if you won... Dads friend was the only one to beat me but turns out he was one of the actual drivers in the V8 supercars lol
Truly, an AMAZING rig! You can't put a price on having such a fun and supportive wife, so I'd argue you're richer than a lot of dudes that own a real Ferrari, Lambo, etc.
I’ve learnt that a mcclaren p1 is actually quite a safe car to drive. And crashing off cliffs is softer than I thought and it’s actually nothing to worry about. 🥴
It would be interesting to see how she progresses as you coach her. You could even race together in driver swap events dedicated to mixed teams such as simgrid and theamusante. That would be really nice I guess

Great video as always. Maybe, every once in a while, you can swap your pedal cam window with the view from behind that awesome rig. With the big screens and, I guess, the action of the motion tracker, the motion of your rig isn't as obvious. Keep up the good work and the fun.
I remember when my dad had one of these... it was built inside a VB Holden supercar and he used to tow it to carnivals and events.
He set it up at home, had me perfect Bathurst then he put challenges out to the public to beat me (I was about 10 or so) had to pay double the price if you lose or got the ride for free if you won... Dads friend was the only one to beat me but turns out he was one of the actual drivers in the V8 supercars lol
Truly, an AMAZING rig! You can't put a price on having such a fun and supportive wife, so I'd argue you're richer than a lot of dudes that own a real Ferrari, Lambo, etc.

The rain on the windscreen are so realistic, when the car turns or speed up the rain drops flow according the force or wind direction
