As someone with a similar picking technique to Marty, the solos are not hard, but getting that same legato is pretty much impossible and so far I've really only seen Chris Boderick play as smooth as Poland.
zztop2ful Nah man... The 80's Megadeth was *DANGEROUS* and that is when they meant what they played. Sorry to say, but Marty just doesn't have that attitude that Chris had.
Interestingly they're tuned a semitone lower, so his voice isn't straining as much on the high notes. Dave always bragged that he never down tuned his guitar but they sure did it here
Christopher Hargreaves he’s a bad ass...when I think of bad ass drummers, a couple immediately come to mind...One is John Bonham, the other is Nick Menza.
The look on juniors face when Dave says “what do you mean I hurt your feelings? Didn’t know you had any feelings”… priceless! Goddamn I love this lineup
definition_of_techno in some countries some people would not understand the meaning that buying is used which is believe, but it's a very clever song...
The first time I heard the song some 30 yrs ago, I mostly listened to the music. But as time went by, I am more aware of the lyrics, pay more attention and and realize how great the lyrics are.
@Almeida5 oh btw this is the right setlet 1.Holy Wars ...The Punishment Due 2.Reckoning Day 3.Sweating Bullets 4.Train Of Consequences 5.In My Darkest Hour 6. A Tout Le Monde 7.Symphony Of Destruction 8.Peace Sells 9. Victory this is the full setlist of this concert on video dude
I agree 1000 percent this was the best megadeth line up that they ever had not to say I don't like Shawn and Chris but this is just the lineup I remember and love.
My personal favorite lineup is the Gar/Poland era, but the band were undoubtedly at their peak back then. Nick and Marty had been in the band for a while now and they're just a well-oiled machine at this point.
Im with the dude above me...if we had high quality videos of the first lineup i think everyone would be shocked at how amazing Chris and Gar were (when they werent blasted beyond belief...and probably even while they were) but this line up is a close second.
Oh the sound on this is awesome. Reminds me of how good they were when I saw them at Brixton academy in 1995 on the youthanasia tour. Probably the best sounding gig I've been too.
I saw Megadeth at the Ventura Theatre on the Rust In Piece tour. What a melodic heavy metal machine. I just can’t put into words how amazing it was. Metallica can’t compete with a Dave riff!
If you notice, he keeps his two bottom fingers free because he is using them on some occasions to sound notes on the High E and B strings while picking on the Low E, A or D strings. Its not gimp at all, in fact its quite ingenious and shows just how dexterous he is/was.
guys i remember when this aired back on mtv that day. i was in central america that time so it was aired on mtv latino back in december of 94. i believe it was on new years eve when they aired it and it was an awesome performance. i so envy nick menza's fiberglass kit. perfect lineup those guys are pros.
Thanks for upload...i was a little guy at these times and i was so crazy about the music especially the sound of Megadeth and the crazy funny things haapens on tv. I wish i never get old...
I remember watching this on MTV back in the day! I always wanted a copy of it, I have at least some of it on the "ARSENAL OF MEGADETH" DVD, but I was never sure how many songs they actually played, how many made the actual broadcast, and how many finally ended up on the DVD.
93-95 seems to be the best time of megadeth imo, daves best singing, the tone n tuning of the guitars on songs. I just love hearing the older songs being performed in youthanasia tuning. as well as slightly slowed down but still hard songs like 99 ways, crown of worms, angry again, and new world order
I am impressed that Marty actually worked Chris's solos. Thats respect. He was always playing his now thing over Jeff Young's solos (thank God...). And given the fact that Marty was always showing his demise towards the rest of guitar players out there (apart from Jason Becker) this is a tribute. Of course on the last solos he does his thing no matter what.
he played Jeffs solos pretty acurate. Marty rarely uses fast alternate picking (Jeff used it a lot ) but the whole composition remained the same on his interpretations.
"I didn't know you had any feelings." looks at Ellefson. Ellefson: "I'm used to this." hehe.
Funny seeing you here. Your channel is excellent!
Pretty funny! Love your content, helped me pick up the guitar. Hope all is well
Well hello there. Who do we got here ;)
I love you man
@@metallicmonkey4519 you didn't say 'no homo'🗿
nick menza is such a badass drummer.
rip... :C
He was. Love what he did for Deth. But Gar was a total beast playing this stuff!
RIP to both of them. Cool players.
Totally agree
Was*
Sorry to the new guys (they're really awesome too though), but best drummer they ever had was Nick.
This is when Dave looked the happiest.
Mans Worst Day very true. Very sad to see him caught up in the past. I think its a slight degree of trauma maybe
Mans Worst Day which Dave?
@@tusharkharya7821 Mustaine. Probably
They both look happy
Ellefson is always happy so he probably meant Dave
i love how Dave sings in that voice whenever they play this
This one is a bit boring, he sings like a the good boy of a good father lol
Dave Mustane, Dave Elefson, Marty Friedman and Nick Menza... what a lineup!
The best lineup
the one reason that still is!
1990-1994 Megadeth is something else man.
Best lineup of MEGADETH. thumps up if u agree.
Yep!
I preffer Gar Samuelson, Chris Poland....
Like...hahaha this lineup is awesome but I don't know which one is better!! MEGADETH IS JUST TOO BADASS
It's surely legendary lineup but my fav is So far so good so what era.
Pitrelli and DeGrasso for the win.
Himal Pun yes it is ..but I’m loving Kiki now he is pretty awesome
No idea how Marty manages Poland's leads with that picking hand but it's badass!
As someone with a similar picking technique to Marty, the solos are not hard, but getting that same legato is pretty much impossible and so far I've really only seen Chris Boderick play as smooth as Poland.
Yeah, I was shocked too 😂
I can still remember the night this came out. I recorded it on VHS and watched like a million times over
And nick Menza! 🤟
Same
Best line-up, and back then Dave sang the best. :)
zztop2ful Nah man... The 80's Megadeth was *DANGEROUS* and that is when they meant what they played.
Sorry to say, but Marty just doesn't have that attitude that Chris had.
+zzzhuh drugs attitude
Live recordings are poor quality. Nothing compared to 91+ era
Yes, bye Metallica 👋
I'm not a fan of Dave's live vocals, but he actually sounds really good here.
Youthanasia caused this, he sings better after this album on live
Interestingly they're tuned a semitone lower, so his voice isn't straining as much on the high notes. Dave always bragged that he never down tuned his guitar but they sure did it here
They're very good.
Umm sorry, this is good? Jeez
@@npanic628 The song sounds exactly like it's supposed to, that is just like we like it.
This is the best Megadeth line up.
The lyrics is great. Dave is a genius to come up with the lyrics.
Goddamn, Nick Menza was flawless!
definitely , how cool is nick , awesome with out a doubt
Christopher Hargreaves he’s a bad ass...when I think of bad ass drummers, a couple immediately come to mind...One is John Bonham, the other is Nick Menza.
dave's vocals youthanasia era live is were i think his best.
A close second has to be between United Abominations and Endgame.
@@TheyCallMeMrMaybe agree!!
Truuuuuuuth! He was actually taking singing lessons at that time too which is why. I fuckin’ love his vocals on Youthanasia and that era
That was their "black album" IMO. Incredible album!
Best lineup of any band ever. These guys were the best in the world in my opinion.
The look on juniors face when Dave says “what do you mean I hurt your feelings? Didn’t know you had any feelings”… priceless! Goddamn I love this lineup
i love mtv of 90s
This is probably the best live Megadeth performance I've ever seen.
F'n A man🤘🏻
Italy 1992 is awesome
Dave's vocals were so beautiful
I see no muffling in Nick's bass drums. One of my favorite things about his playing.
I know this is an old comment but he has no muffling in his kicks because they're triggered.
Best line up of MEGADETH
My God,Dave's so smokin' hot as hell!!!!
Lyrics are out of this world!
definition_of_techno in some countries some people would not understand the meaning that buying is used which is believe, but it's a very clever song...

One of the best songs in metal. Bass, guitar, drums, lyrics everything is perfect
This is my porn.
I still have this whole special recorded on VHS.
I remember this. Senior in high school. This was one of the last MTV specials featuring a metal artist.
Here is where I discovered MEGADETH!!! I asked myself.... "who is that guy!!!!" A very long time ago and still a fan.
Menza 💔
One of the greatest 🤟
This is such an energetic and amazing performance.
damn! ellefson, my favorite bassist.
wtf the daves are kicking ass, best line up, marty is the best!!!
Daves hair looks like back when he started megadeth in this video
@Almeida5 oh btw this is the right setlet
1.Holy Wars ...The Punishment Due
2.Reckoning Day
3.Sweating Bullets
4.Train Of Consequences
5.In My Darkest Hour
6. A Tout Le Monde
7.Symphony Of Destruction
8.Peace Sells
9. Victory
this is the full setlist of this concert on video dude
“Whataya mean I don’t support your system? I go to court when I have to!”
One of the best song lyrics EVER!🤘🏻💪🏻
2019....and still the best Deth lineup.
Rip Nick😢
I agree 1000 percent this was the best megadeth line up that they ever had not to say I don't like Shawn and Chris but this is just the lineup I remember and love.
IMO, EVERY SINGLE LINE UP HAS BEEN PERFECT FOR MEGADETH!!!🤘🤘🤘
best lineup ever who agrees
My personal favorite lineup is the Gar/Poland era, but the band were undoubtedly at their peak back then. Nick and Marty had been in the band for a while now and they're just a well-oiled machine at this point.
Im with the dude above me...if we had high quality videos of the first lineup i think everyone would be shocked at how amazing Chris and Gar were (when they werent blasted beyond belief...and probably even while they were) but this line up is a close second.
I prefer Poland and Drover over Marty, and it's not a technical skill issue, they are all great guitarists, but i prefer Poland's and Drover's style.
Prefer Kiko as lead now
This is great. I have this whole show recorded on VHS, but would love to have a DVD release of it.
Megadeth, Sepultura, Exodus, Anthrax, Overkill and Destruction...dream team of thrash metal ever.
Best line up Megadeth has ever had.
holy fucking shit what the fuck did i just watch?!!! this was the most fucking epic thing i have ever seen !!
Damn...they were on top of their game tonight!
This song should totally be 2016's official political campaign song.
Man if I was there I'd a lost my mind! ugh awesome!!!!
I watched this on TV the night it was broadcast. It was Halloween
I was born two days before this took place. Awesome show!
What a sound they used to produce during Marty and Menza era !
Oh the sound on this is awesome. Reminds me of how good they were when I saw them at Brixton academy in 1995 on the youthanasia tour. Probably the best sounding gig I've been too.
I remember the night this aired. Good times watching this again.
What a band
I saw Megadeth at the Ventura Theatre on the Rust In Piece tour. What a melodic heavy metal machine. I just can’t put into words how amazing it was. Metallica can’t compete with a Dave riff!
And Dave wrote some the best Metallica riffs
Wow his voice sounds great this show. Awesome performance!
The best ever megadeth lineup i ever seen
Megadeth was coolest w Marty!
Miss you Nick Menza 💐
Megadeth Rules Always
mustaine had his chops down at this show fuckin awesome. those solos were dope!!
As usual he's slightly sloppy but it adds to his authentic anarchic appeal. He's great
Great Line-up...Dave, David, Marty and amazing Nick!!aaah perfect Years...👍👌🤘🤘💋😍🙏🏽😓
1:52 - marty just told the camera to "watch this!"
Probably the best I've ever seen them perform.
Shout out to the crowd. Rattling the right way!
i wish it would have shown all of holy wars too
In their PRIME, best Megadeath line up..
probably their best moment and their best song
Amazing performance!
If you notice, he keeps his two bottom fingers free because he is using them on some occasions to sound notes on the High E and B strings while picking on the Low E, A or D strings. Its not gimp at all, in fact its quite ingenious and shows just how dexterous he is/was.
I love the pause @2:37
This was the height of the Megadeth golden era.
epic drumset
Обожаю этот ролик в том числе потому что всех слышно!
Holy Wars.. Reprise?
Best live version ever!
Best live version of this song hands down.. NICK MENSA IS ON POINT.. AND BOTH THESE GUYS ARE GUTIAR GODS
Their very best lineup... Period!
guys i remember when this aired back on mtv that day. i was in central america that time so it was aired on mtv latino back in december of 94. i believe it was on new years eve when they aired it and it was an awesome performance. i so envy nick menza's fiberglass kit. perfect lineup those guys are pros.
The Best performance of the MEGADETH
Megadeth e muito show !
Wow what a crowd of people, they are just giving it shit.
And today's crowd be like 🥱🤫
Thanks for upload...i was a little guy at these times and i was so crazy about the music especially the sound of Megadeth and the crazy funny things haapens on tv. I wish i never get old...
Best band in the galaxy
I was lucky and got to see this lineup of Megadeth in 91
I remember watching this on MTV back in the day! I always wanted a copy of it, I have at least some of it on the "ARSENAL OF MEGADETH" DVD, but I was never sure how many songs they actually played, how many made the actual broadcast, and how many finally ended up on the DVD.
Okay, that e flat bass intro sounds epic
Dave always bragged that he didn't downtune...it's OK Dave, we forgive you
the best song
Night of the living Megadeth needs to be on Dvd. I own the Cd.
Wow I remember this! It was a special on MTV when they actually played music it was for their release of Youthanaisa
I love all pre phone camera live performance!
Love you Sirs
awesome people in the crowd.
Best lineup!!

those are dave's solos not chis's lol.
What do you mean I don't believe in God?
I talk to him everyday
What do you mean, I don't support your system?
I go to court when I have to
What do you mean, I can't get to work on time?
I got nothing better to do
And, what do you mean, I don't pay my bills?
Why do you think I'm broke? Huh?
If there's a new way
I'll be the first in line
But it better work this time
What do you mean, I hurt your feelings?
I didn't know you had any feelings
What do you mean, I ain't kind?
Just not your kind
What do you mean, I couldn't be the President
Of the United States of America?
Tell me something, it's still "We the people", right?
If there's a new way
I'll be the first in line
But it better work this time
Can you put a price on peace?
Peace
Peace sells
Peace
Peace sells
Peace sells, but who's buying?
Peace sells, but who's buying?
Peace sells, but who's buying?
Peace sells, but who's buying?
Peace sells, but who's buying?
Peace sells, but who's buying?
Peace sells, but who's buying?
Peace sells, but who's buying?
Peace sells, but who's buying?
Peace sells, but who's buying?
Peace sells, but who's buying?

No, no-no-no-no
Peace sells (Peace sells)

Nick!!!!!! what a kit 🤘🏼
This is when Marty was still a metal guitar player
Baddas amazing 🎉🎉 ,,, thanks the best megadeath line up \\m//
I need to come out the wardrobe - I am in love with David Ellefson
Best line up in history music in general.
