    During a period when the Green Lantern comic was called Green Lantern Corps and it was a team book, there was a massive, huge jawed alien named Kilowog who was a Green Lantern. In one story when they needed more power he created an atomic turbine. His team mates stared in disbelief because they thought he was "the tall dumb strong one in the back". "What's that?" @freman007 10 месяцев назад +7

      Yes, the point of Superman isn't his power, it's that despite his power he's a good man who cares.
      One sequence I liked from the My Adventures with Superman cartoon was where they suddenly come under gunfire and Clark throws himself in front of Lois to stop her being hit.
      She asks him, "How did you know you were bulletproof?"
      He answers, "I didn't. I just knew that you weren't."
      Superman is the man who'll take a bullet for others, even if he doesn't know he'll survive it. He cares.
      It's why Snyder's take never worked, because Snyder can't comprehend a man who's good for no other reason than to be good. But that's who Superman is.

    when you said that the DNA of Omni-man's species overpowers any other genetics. if i remember the comics, there is when Omni-man goes to a planet of an ant like race and well he has another child, they are a full on memember of the same species as himself, but has purple skin and the accellerated growth/ageing towards a prime age and just kinda slows down. So i might think that the Viltrimite DNA only takes in genetic traits of the breed species that can be a benifit and well being able to rapidly reproduce several strong soldiers in basicly a few months is kinda insane. so yea might be true or not. Omnima’s ability to fly suggests the laws of physics allows reacionless drive so make some tech that replicates that. I got the impression that when omniman said "we have the power to create leverage off of anything", it meant that viltrumites fly by pushing off of air, fast enough (and with enough volume) that it's like pushing off the ground. even in the most desolate deep parts of space, there's always like, a particle per square metre. like a helicopter, but with microflexions of muscles so it doesn't look like anything's happening, or something

    Viltrumites dont have a zenkai type ability, they just have insane survivability and Mark is actually learning from his past mistakes. Allen the Alien is the only character with this kind of power and he visibly shows his increase in power by showing up even more jacked than before he was in a near death experience. Invincible likes to streamline whatever power mechanic to be consistent with others like Wolf-Man, Monster Girl, and Dinosaurus being able to heal their bodies via transformation. so if there was any zenkai boost type abilities they would've present it the same way how Allen gets jacked after surviving a near death experience

    Spoiler to those that don’t know the comics.
    There is a gun that can kill Viltrumites and Nolan knows about it and apparently encountered it. Also, I think you also need to do a video on Allen the Alien. Talk about someone with saiyan like powers of upon nearing death they get stronger, Allen’s power-ups from near death experiences seem to be massively higher than Viltrumites power-ups from near death experiences. Also Mark’s breathing capability in space is getting massively larger. Another fun bit about Viltrumites biology discussed in the show, the older that Viltrumites get, the slower that their cells age, and a really important part of Viltrumites biology and the ramifications of humans biology mixing with them presents another saiyan like power/capability although I believe it was simplified into adrenaline and how Viltrumites can’t as easily access that from heightened emotions, but humans can (Mark can, we see it in season 1) as well as the consequences of that in the comics. Cheers!

    I'm going to say this now this is a spoiler for the first season if you haven't seen it yet okay not over with another argument against people who think Omni man can beat Superman other than the arguments in place on this episode is the fact that when Omni Man fought Guardians of the globe I think that was their name anyway yes he beat them to a pulp fairly easily but he also took some good damage from that fight telling me that even though he is one of the toughest characters in the series is durability is nowhere near what Superman is

  • @Kayclau

    I haven't read the comic, but I'm certain that the girl whose superpower is to manipulate matter to an atomic level will be the key to defeat Omniman. Too bad she can't use her powers on people.

      Unfortunately probably not. Thragg could dumpster Eve if he felt like it, and while she can’t be killed, viltrumites are capable of controlling their own atoms, this is how they fly around and are durable, through exerting strength of their smart atoms.
      She’d be able to damage one, but they would most likely be able to defeat her.

    • @ABVW92
      @ABVW92 8 месяцев назад

      @@alexandergreene461 Also have to take into account that the large majority of her power is locked away, and she only gains access to it in moments of extreme emotion or near death experiences.
      She is also, practically immortal, she does age as normal, but when she becomes old and frail, her powers activate and restore her to her peak physical performance again.
      If she had full access to and control of her power, she'd be scarily dangerous!

    Saying Ultraman is a normal dude on his planet is a bit misleading. In the comics it is heavily implied, if not outright stated, that he is one of a very select few elite warriors. It just doesn't mean much when all the remaining Viltrumite population is the same or even better.

    • @empdisaster10
      @empdisaster10 10 месяцев назад

      Its also implied though that most pure viltrumites are elite warriors due to the others killing them if they arent. Its a kill or be killed and the only ones left are the ones who kill

    • @matt-thorn
      @matt-thorn 10 месяцев назад

      @@empdisaster10 Yes, but it's not due to that. There's only a handful of viltrumite alive at the start of the series, and that's entirely separate from the culling that made them strong in the first place. Nolan was entrusted with Earth after a long vetting process (making him one of the strongest), but that was before most of the race was eradicated.

      Frankly the idea of a star-faring race being so desperate that they couldn't move one planet over and turn it into a replica of Krypton is stupid.

    I don't really see Home-lander as a Superman analog. I've always seen The Boys as a story about what would have happened if superpowers only existed to make a profit; Home-lander is the closest you can possibly get to Superman, in a world where powers were created explicitly for selfish, personal, gain. But that doesn't make him a... It doesn't make him the same kind of character as Superman; It just makes him a random guy, who happens to have very Superman like powers.
