I cant cope with the fact that daytime sonic has that weird right-cheek mouth while the werehog has it properly centered
Sonic Team needs to take a page from Doom's approach and release a game, 6-ish months later release the source code, and let the modding community go fucking nuts
That could possibly destroy the sonic game's online, you know that right? And there's also the business issue of giving people access to your yard.
Besides, Doom doesn't even do that anymore.

I fondly remember the Sonic the Werehog 11-minute cartoon that came out around the same time. I liked it because it was just silly Sonic fun and part of its canon.
When it comes to critiquing media that someone likes, I think a lot of people feel like it's a personal attack on them when it's something they hold so dear to their heart. It's like a knee jerk response.
For example, Sonic Unleashed is my favourite game of all time and I won't lie, I do get that knee jerk response to defend it when it gets critised like in this video. It always takes me a minute to mentally compose myself and basically remember that everyone has their own opinions and not everyone's going to like what I like.
I'm not saying people should or shouldn't jump to defend something they love, just trying to offer an insight into why someone may feel attacked if something they like gets critiqued. I know Sonic Unleashed isn't a perfect game, I don't believe anything can ever be truly perfect but to me Sonic Unleashed means a great deal to me and someone else's opinion of the game doesn't diminish that for me. I appreciate and respect the insight offered by other people as they may have thought of something that I may never have myself.

I've just today gone back to Sonic Adventure 2 with this video releasing and literally struggled to finish a sonic level.
It was rough and janky, I hated and loved it at the same time. I'll continue to love that game, but I also know there's a bunch of good and bad in that game.
I can't say it's a good game but it will always be one of my favourites 😂

Used to play this on the Wii. As a kid I didn't see the problem but went back and not only is it hell to control but wow the story was... Weird
In comparison to all other Sonic journey... unleashed is makes sense. The archie comics are insane. Golden Devil, Sonic Cucking Tails, sonic being a King and 40 years old....and that's just the surface.
The funniest bit is that the Lego Sonic gimmick for going fast is Sonic in a Monkey Ball.
Chemical Plant Zone is mentioned, I immediately hear it playing in my head!

I personally enjoyed Sonic Unleashed, though I hated the medal system in it and two very specific segments of the game. I do understand others not enjoying it, though. It has PLENTY of things to complain about.
Honestly, as far as actual game design goes, what Sonic 06 was SUPPOSED TO BE is my favorite 3D Sonic game. I love the open area sections with fun mini games and character NPCs, and i really like the level design for a lot of the Sonic snd Shadow levels.
That is not what was released tho.
If only the gameplay was functional....

Imma majorly contest the idea that Sonics music covers more genres or is better than Mario music.
HOWEVER, Sonic has such a connection to music and especially modern music. Sonic is COOL. Music is COOL. Thats why we had Crush 40 to begin with.

Lucas is right. No matter how sega or people say like frontiers is the return to adventure era. It ain't till we see a chao garden and have are chao's fight and race eachother. And also break are hearts if we try to delete them 😢

Why the f do we not have a Sonic "Mario maker-style" game??? Frontiers was pretty decent except Mirage's voice doesn't fit sonic. They've done him dirty soo many times over the years. Take it from someone with sonic tattooed on his arm, I want more good sonic games!
Honestly I'd like to see the sequel they set up for Dante's Inferno....IIRC they were gonna be a trilogy, mirroring the actual story the name of the game is taken from. As for Sonic...I love Sonic but even I can admit there have been some stinkers in the series....I do like the idea of the Werehog though if only because I like werewolves and would like to see it done better in a new game...with an ACTUAL explanation on why his arms stretch like that. I mean for crying out loud the official Sonic Cook Book (yes that is a thing) CONFIRMS that Sonic 06 is canon to the timeline of the series as not only does Silver show up with recipes and talking about his home in the future but Amy admits to visiting the town of Soleanna and one of the salads there..the "Soleanna Princess Special" being named in honor of her. Yes...the cook book is an officially licensed Sega Sonic product, so they could put SOME kind of explanation in some outside material somewhere, Chip from Unleashed is even mentioned too at least once in the book. Also the official recipe for Sonic's chili for his chilidogs no only includes beans (which I consider heresy as I'm on the side of no bean chili)....and coffee...yeah...his homemade chili for his chilidogs has 1 tablespoon of ground coffee as an ingredient, the serving yield for the recipe makes for 8 servings. Between the dark red kidney beans and the coffee in the recipe I'd think that would explain why he runs so fast.

Looking at it from another perspective, instead of it being that you were "tricked" into playing them and you finding tye games not good, couldn't it just as easily be that they simply aren't for you rather than them being bad (with the obvious exceptions of 06 and Boom)?

It's so annoying to me how there is always a period of time when a game makes a ton of money and suddenly every game developer, no matter how big or small, wants to make their version of that game.
It happened to God of War, PUBG, and Breath of the Wild. Those game came out and suddenly every game had to be a beat-em-up, a battle royale or an open-world game.
The funny thing is that Sonic has done that twice to my knowledge. Sonic Unleashed is just a bad God of War knock-off, and Sonic Frontiers is just Sonic's attempt to be Breath of the Wild.
All I'm saying is, where is the Sonic battle royale, Sega?
This game was such a ball ache as a kid. I only played like 2 hours before my PS2 took a crap on me. 😭
I played the mobile version of this game back when mobile games were good because phones had buttons. I got stuck in the first werehog level.
I enjoyed Sonic Unleashed, but i also wouldnt say it's a good game.
Most of that game's playtime will end up being from the Night Stages. And it can get worse because you'll most likely have to backtrack to those Night stages, just to find the sun and moon medals you need to advance the game.
I do like the visuals and music though. It really sticks.
I played this as a child and I knew even then that this game was awful
One of Sonics biggest monikers is "fastest thing alive" why would you ever bypass that with a fast travel system.
I think if you did, the fast travel should always be one second longer than just running lmao (this is a terrible idea, I am very aware)
I like Sonic, but can openly admit that many of the games suck. The music is always good, though 😂
Music is almost always the best part of a Sonic game. Very few of those games get it wrong.

Sega need to stop making sonic focused games. Do the trio of and have each one play differently like sonic adventure series
Unleashed had two average games mushed into one sub-average game. The night time werehog levels were fun, but a huge pace killer when between the faster day time Sonic levels.

growing up, sonic 06 was one of the only (non-lego) games i had, so because of that i was conditioned into loving it. now older and (not at all) wiser, i still love it but recognise it as a buggy, poorly designed piece of shit
Most of the sonic games are not that good. One thing I'll always stand by though is that the thought of "Temple Megazord" Vs Eldritch Abomination is epic. Dumb as all hell? definitely, but still epic.
As a sonic fan, a pokemon fan, and a furry... yeah.
I had I think the PS2 version and I couldn't even get through more than about 20 minutes of it. I just didn't enjoy it at all. And that's strange for me. I loved all the complete dog shite games and movies. Hell, I remember really enjoying Monsters Vs Aliens when it first came out!
Don't ask furry artists if this is their favorite game, they will say yes

I have no issue with being critical of this game cause it has lots of issues. I would never call it great its about on the border of okayish and goodish at best and at worst slightly better then bad. Its worse then sonic 2,3 and mania. But honestly feel its the "best" of the 3d games wich is not saying much.
I just feel that in genral it gets an unfaire amount of hate sometimes cause alot(not you) act like its the worst of the sonic games.
The plot while shitty is saddly one of the best plots in a sonic game. Just try to think about the plot of any sonic game. Most are just as bad and often more cheesy.
Sonic has so many horrible games i just really dont understand why this above any other seems to always be the target of the most hate. While i dont ever want to play it again if i was going to be forced to play any of these awful 3d ones it would be the one id pick.
