Once in 1982, a boy told me that he went on a submarine journey and got caught by a giant squid. I ask him where that is possible, and he answers me, at Disneyland. From that moment on, I started to request to my parents: Take me to Disneyland. Since I live in México, I am sure that was not an easy task, but a year later they did it. Years later, I was watching TV, and I saw a TV show about the inauguration of a place called EPCOT CENTER. That is when I decided I wanted it to be there some day, and I did it later. I agree with you 100%. In all of my travels to Disneyland or WDW (I returned to WDW in 2020), it has always been the kindness of all the cast members that made the real magic, from the ones that clean to the ones that are in the stores or in the food service or in the attractions, all of them always going above and beyond to make the day special and wonderful, and of course the attractions that left you in a WOW! state, like my first time in the Hollywood Tower of Terror or traveling the galaxy in the Millennium Falcon-those are the key elements that make Disneyland or WDW the place you always want to return. The imagineers deserve all my respect and admiration because they are the ones that take us to places no one else can. Thank you, cast members and Imagineering team!
While he had many faults Michael Eisner once said he was the “last of the creative types” to run a studio or entertainment company and I don’t think he was wrong. Prior to Frank Wells’ death and Euro Disney, Eisner had a lot of great ideas and/or fostered creativity among Disney imagineers, cast members and other employees.
You are foolish. I live in the UK and even I know that Disney lost $120 Billion last year due to the declining movie studios and the stance on the parental rights bill.
If you’re concerned about the well-being of the cast members, I encourage you not to be convinced by Bob’s rhetoric. If you listen to the shareholders’ call that took place immediately after they played this video, Iger used the cast members as a scapegoat. As he has many times in the last year, he laid Disney’s political involvement at the feet of the cast members, saying the company chooses to act politically solely for the good of the cast. Speaking from firsthand experience, that is untrue. The fact that he’s willing to trade on the good will Disney’s supporters have toward the cast in order to advance his political career, while having himself failed to support them throughout his tenure, demonstrates his lack of integrity. Iger has never had the best interests of the cast at heart and has rarely acted to restore the safe, conscientious, familial working environment that characterized working for Disney from Walt’s day through the 1990s. Morale has never been lower, and he’s aware of it. But he’s a politician, and he knows how to manipulate his audience.
Pretty sure George Lucas created Star Wars and it feels super disengenuous to say that Disney's the one who touched people while showing it on screen. His creation and brain child, and yet the mouse takes development credit. Also who in the world is footing all the new movies and rides during a recession????
How about get back to being a family friendly magical place and drop the political junk and agendas. Then Disney will see a profit again. Also treat those wonderful cast members like gold, I personally remember so many of them making our times at the park truly wonderful, it's what separates Disney from the rest.

The House of Mouse has definitely crossed the line! Do they really think they're removing a bunch of its original titles for both Disney+ and Hulu just because we've lost millions of subscribers to those who aren't watching the shows and movies they've produced, not to mention cutting costs so they can combine both platforms into one without getting the attention of other media that are NOT actually from Disney? The movies and shows that became popular as the world still stands today are NOW considered to be crass. These media content that did not lived up to their expectations deserves more recognition like the Stargirl movies, The One and Only Ivan even for The Mighty Ducks sequel series, Game Changers. The studio is wrong on everything, they broke ALL of our hearts. So I say, shame and #Don'tTrustDisney.

Better content and improvement costs money…if we can cut out the fat, and become more efficient with a smaller headcount…then the company can put money into the right things to satisfy those requests.

Isn’t that the case in most media shareholder events? I’m just surprised that Iger kept calm during all that BS. I’ve only heard him legitimately get angry when a shareholder repeatedly asked why weren’t they releasing a Micheal Moore film or TV special (that aired on ABC at the time) on DVD. I don’t remember the name but it had something to do with 9/11, so you know.
Mr.paycheck did so much damage to the Disney brand I fear it may be irreversible, yes the imagineers and cast members is what makes disneys magic come to life, however let’s not forget the guests are what KEEP everyone employees and stockholders earning money, when you forget about the guests, when you make the guests feel unimportant, when you force guests to leave the parks to experience other parks in the area, you are creating your own worst nightmare. For Walt, the family dynamic, the guests were at the heart and forefront of everything he did, please ask yourself “what would Walt say” if he were here right now to see what’s happened to his beloved dream? Would you get a Pat on the back or would you get a pink slip? We need to get back to the basics and forget about ALL POLITICS, take that out of the parks NOW! Return Disney to its former glory and I can promise you the money will keep flowing faster than ever!
I agree, we should definitely remove The Hall of Presidents attraction from the park immediately! Maybe that’ll prevent Genie+ from being sold out week after week due to the tremendous crowds…we should stop them from being so inclusive and prevent letting people of all Shape,Sizes,Colors and Identity into the parks! I’m sure that’ll boost the stock price immediately!
My fondest memory that stuck with me as a child was the magic moment of visiting at age 6. I patiently waited for my first child to share this memory, while this was the most magical time for both my daughter and myself to experience again I will not be coming back. I spent nearly $8,000 dollars and felt nickel and dime'd the entire way. Look Disney, I love you and what you provided but the pricing we experienced was just beyond ridiculous. $400 a night for a hotel that's not even deluxe? $109 for a Child's ticket? Genie+ is a joke, what happened to the perks of staying at your resorts? You charge more, then take away the reasons to even go that route? Disney, you really need to reevaulate things. I went from wanting to take my kid once a year to never wanting to come back. That's saying something.
You had good memories as a child because your parents took care of the expenses which were probably too high for them at the time. Your kids enjoyed their time there same as you did and well it costs to go to somewhere nice. I live outside the states and nowhere near a Disney Park so when I decide to go and I do that at least once a year I have to pay much more than $8000 (plane tickets, hotels, expenses..etc) but as long as we get to experience the magic and my kids are happy then it’s worth it.
Spot on. Staying on property had certain perks which made it worthwhile. Now…they have taken every single perk away and developed a nickel and dime policy on EVERYTHING. Extra hours in the parks were one…now you have to pay for that as well. It’s flat out GREED and not our destination any more for a family trip.
I want Disney family friendly content back and original content. We have seen so many remakes already. As far as everything now needs to be IP related in the park - how about creating some new original animation. Go back to want made Disney special and memorable. I dumped my passes before Covid. The parks were dirty and not well maintained. And the overwhelming crowds made it feel less than safe. I w. Wen to the parks in the hundreds of time. Driving 2.5 hours sometimes for lunch and people watching. Started to see such frustrations bubbling over into fights. That did it for me. I now no longer desire to go into any park on Disney property.
I can not allow my 4 year old to watch a new Disney or Pixar movie or Disney television cartoon without first screening it for content inappropriate for little eyes to see and ears to hear. Gone is the trust I have that Disney made movies and television shows are going to contain wholesome stories. Gone is the trust I and many others have in Disney.

Remember when WDW guests had the Magical Express to wisk them away from airport to their magical kingdom? I do. I do because now I have to haul a family of 5 thru Orlando International and deal w bs I never needed to worry about before. I’ll gladly pay $50 per person to get magical express back. Cmon Iger.
hated the ME. U sit on it waiting for people to get on for like 40 mins, then they go to three other resorts, then they finally go to yours, its like a 1.5hr trip. Meanwhile, my uber picks us up and ride to the resort. Bam, all for $50 and takes 25 mins.. so much better.
I'm surprised Bob Iger didn't mentioned Tiana's Palace and Tiana's Bayou Adventure but we already know that will be happening also in the future of Disney.
To be fair, he also didn't give an update on Genie+, union contract approval, Splash Mountain re-imagining, etc... If we don't hear anything about the affordable housing development off 429 within the next couple years, then call him out on it. In the meantime, it's still early. I mean, they just set up the contractor within the last few months.
I am writing this again and more specifically here! Hopefully, people at Disney will share this and understand the real problem and issues that are happening within the House of Mouse! Bob Iger is a walking disaster at this point. He has proven he does not understand Disney Branding! The proof of this statement is the absolute tanking of Disney Stocks as well as the sheer number of flops of Movies, TV shows and other property expansion ideas. As of Today in late July 2023, everyone is seeing the stupidity in motion disaster of the Snow White franchise being utterly destroyed and one which could seriously harm Disney for years to come. The disaster of Little Mermaid should have given any competent person notice that when you change the Branding model which basically all Franchise titles, movies to the theme parks were all designed to support one another! Bob Iger through sheer idiocy threw out the Branding Model. It is like Starbucks saying they are not going to make coffee orders to go and decide to change the Brand identity to selling milk and tea. That may sound crazy but that is exactly what Bob Iger has been doing since he has been in charge. I have warned time and again all the Board of Directors of Disney individually the fact that the direction of the company is heading toward financial disaster. I have repeatedly compared how the company Sears hired a bad CEO who basically bankrupted the company where that evil person bought up the Franchise name and brands. After getting those, that CEO accelerated the financial collapse of Sears. Sears filed Bankruptcy and closed all its properties. That CEO then made deals to sell the name and branding rights to differing companies to make billions for himself why shareholders and people who invested in the company for generations went bankrupt and lost billions. Disney is on the same exact path that Sear was on. Does that mean that Bob Iger will do what happened at Sears? No. However, the actions of Iger is identical to what happened at Sears that lead to Sears selling off Franchise and Branding rights. Iger has stated that Disney needs to sell off the more unprofitable Franchise and Branded items. The slippery slope is where the line on unprofitable lies. As to the Snow White complete and utter disaster, Disney just needs to BURN all the production videos, photos and film if there is film and never ever allow it to be released to the public! EAT THE COST OF THIS STUPIDITY IN MOTION movie that is a slap in the face to anyone who loves Disney and are basically at this point in time a multi-generational consumer. The Idea of making a live action movie of the animated movie was a good idea! However, the Leadership decision on the "So CALLED REIMAGINATION" basically went contrary to the Disney Model and Branding! Since Iger does not have a clue why people are pissed at the Little Mermaid and now Snow White, listen up! What is the Current Disney Model and Branding? There are 4 general categories for those who do not know. The First is Cartoon shorts to 30 minute episodes to full movies of Walt Disney's original characters which has expanded over the years. Iger had dumped this group and has zero plans make more Cartoon TV series which is the most stupid decision in the world by far! Until 2005, this is where Disney created new Franchise expansions and titles. The Second is the Princess Branding via Children's stories. Disney has the Princess line up across several titles. This princess branding extends into billion dollar merchandising and theme park items including the well known Princess vacation package where a girl or girls are dressed in the Princess of their choice clothes and experience things related to this. The Princess Branding are all based around Fairy Tales from around the world that are well known and kids know and have either read or had it read to them! Snow White Fairy Tale was defined by Walt Disney and it remains the highest grossing animated movie of all time! So, Why in the HELL did Iger change the well defined Fairy Tale that Disney is spending literally hundreds of millions of dollars to promote and has earned billions in return? By doing this, Iger has created a conflict in branding! Additionally, has also created a conflict in current marketing. This is why the Little Mermaid failed! People saw that abomination and wanted nothing of the new version because it did not follow originally defined story line and character layout. Iger does not understand that once something is defined and very successful, you do not change what is not broken! I checked and Little Mermaid sales of merchandise has tanked to all time lows. The same will happen with Snow White. The Woke agenda that Iger is doing though he denies it is a disaster that will ruin any company! The truth is when Iger explains the agenda he is promoting he is literally explaining woke main points. Does Iger want his own Mulvany disaster? Companies should always stay out of Politics and Social hot button issues because as a Company you are selling to both sides. When you pick a side, you lose the majority of all the customers regardless of side. The Third is Pixars toy promotion and modern family friendly content. Pixars is the one Franchise that actually is doing close to what Walt Disney put into place as a business content model. The only problem with Pixars is lack of new acceptable material that is ready and vetted in the pipeline. When Disney closed the Interactive internet branch along with the Japanese animation studios because of CEO mega stupidity in expanding Hotel resorts when Disney was at 65-70% capacity led to the financial crunch of the early 2000s. Disney by shelving the Interactive internet gaming and video branch cost Disney literally at minimum 1 Trillion dollars in lost potential revenue. How is that possible? One of the studios sold off had a employee named Brandon Beck who was also in College at USC. Beck and his close friends created Riot Games whose first game was League of Legends which used Disney inspired characters that was designed for Kingdom of Hearts universe but none developed out because of Disney closing down to bare minimum this particular category. Riot games is approaching $2 Billion dollars a year solely on 1 game. Disney then purchased interest in one of Riot games partner to get into that money chain. The sad thing is had Disney actually allow the video streaming and gaming branch to continue, League of Legends would have been a Disney Franchise. Riot is not the only company that came out of Disney sell off of the early 2000s. Imagine Disney who would have had a solid share in the $ 900 Billion anime market and was in place to avoid the Japanese business limitations placed on foreign businesses. Disney threw that away for no damn good reason! The Forth is the unconventional grouping. This is where Star Wars, Marvel Universe and random movies that have no connection to the original Disney Branding model are found. Disney's original Parent Trap and Swiss Family Robinson fits here as examples showing that this category has been around for some time. There were a lot of comedy type movies that were produced over the years that were completely independent of Disney's main generalized Branding model. It is 100% a FACT that they current already shot movie under the guise of the title Snow White is a MEGA Disaster that is playing out in slow motion. Even a movie buff moron can see that when a studio has to reshoot a finished movie along with redesigning the edit to hide main story line items as well as admitting that casting of the 7 dwarfs as magical creatures to the point of throwing away millions of dollars in a finished trailer to hide them is telling. The list keeps expanding with each passing week as Iger tries to tweak the move to salvage this abomination into something that can at least break even. Truth is Snow White is an utter bomb flop that will hit harder than a lead balloon upon release. Simply, Iger and his staff of incompetent yes people are destroying Disney Name, Brand and Company! Truth is Truth! FYI, I could easily put Disney on the right path where it could literally become a Trillion dollar company and be free of the financial problems it currently has. What is sad is that Disney owns properties and companies that could easily make huge profits but are not even utilized or even acknowledged. These same group of companies are either losing money or barely making a profit. Never been to Disney world before. But I've been to Disneyland aat 13 years old. Experienced Disneyland. It was quite stunning and beautiful. I was in California visiting my second cousin's family. I had a beautiful time in California. Especially Disneyland. Was Bob iger working with Disney in 2009? Just wondering. I was a kid at the time so I don't know. But I sure remember really enjoy myself in California Disneyland
All I want from Disney is for it to return to making enjoyable, accessible films appropriate for family and child viewing, the kind of stories and characters #Illumination, #Ghibli, and #DreamWorks are known and loved for. Don't want to have to worry so much about what contemporary ideology, persuasions, or tolerances it's trying to promote. Just a good, fun movie like i grew up with.

However, the woke approach is to talk down to the audience, to make the whole endeavour about 'the message' instead of entertaining people. In Disney's properties over the last 10 years or so almost every male character is either a) Evil b) A buffoon c) totally sidelined even if they are legacy characters. Female characters instead of being written with real agency and depth are OP'd Mary Sue's who have zero potential for a character ark and are 1-dimensional at best. To be progressive is one thing, Star Trek up until 2009 was always progressive but it always focused on great allegory, subtle sub text and amazing science fiction which allowed the viewer to draw their own conclusions. Modern woke Star Trek (and Star Wars, MCU, Rings of Power, Dr Who et al) are obtuse, patronise the viewer, do not permit any other viewpoint to be aired and the producers/writers/actors typically berate fans/viewers who criticise their work as 'ists' and 'phobes' of one sort or another. Iger is doing literally everything Chapek was going to do... including mass layoffs. Only thing iger has done differently is reverse course on resort parking fees and shuffle a few executives. Chapek was just a fall guy.

Honest question, what makes you think he has heard? All the activist executives and employees were put in place while he ran the company. I want to be optimistic and all, but with each new release of content, Disney seems to continue to nose dive. The fact Kathleen Kennedy still hasn't been fired after what she has done to Star Wars, I don't think anyone is listening. Disney management is a giant left-wing echo chamber it seems. I wish they would come back to the moderate center, and stop creating activist children shows. At this rate I'll never be able to renew my Disney+ subscription again. You realize that Disney does everything they can to make a welcoming environment for all while also dealing with those in the real world who only want to serve their base. The problem is that, not matter what Disney does it's under and intense microscope. Explain to me why Reedy Creek was fine for Florida for 50+ years, but then it wasn't... I think most people that are against the bill agree with avoiding explicit sexual material to children. I think the main issue people have with the bill is the vagueness. For example: if a lesbian teacher has a picture of her wife and some student asks about it, will her job now be in jeopardy if she tells the student she is her wife? The parent could be interpret that as instruction of sexual identity. A principal was recently fired in Florida because 3 parents had issues with not being notified of instruction about the statue of David to middle schoolers. Italians bring their elementary school students to see the statue. I think Disney wanted to avoid taking sides on that bill at first, which angered their employees. Many artists are LGBTQ. Actually, even Howard Ashman (RIP) wrote the best music for Disney films in the 90s was gay. I think when people say that Disney has “an agenda” or Hollywood has “an agenda”, they forget that many of the artists that create the stories or design the characters are LGBTQ. Bob Chapek was kind of put in the position of choosing to side with his employees or the DeSantis, and he eventually made a statement against the bill. It was kind of a no-win scenario for Chapek. Bob Iger is now on board to clean up the image and trying to stay quiet on the matter, but DeSantis is already on the agenda of creating the battle between him and Disney to please his supporters.
As if the authors of that bill had no agenda themselves. They just want the people harmed by their laws to roll over and not do anything to protect themselves.

The merits of the bill are arguable, but it doesn't look good for a corporation to fight legislation that the majority of a state wants when pressured by said Californians. Also, I kind of agree that the statue of David shouldn't have been shown to kids under a certain age without parental permission. Especially out of a health Ed class. This coming from an art major who loves history. US has a different attitude to nudity compared to Europeans in general. Once in 1982, a boy told me that he went on a submarine journey and got caught by a giant squid. I ask him where that is possible, and he answers me, at Disneyland. From that moment on, I started to request to my parents: Take me to Disneyland. Since I live in México, I am sure that was not an easy task, but a year later they did it. Years later, I was watching TV, and I saw a TV show about the inauguration of a place called EPCOT CENTER. That is when I decided I wanted it to be there some day, and I did it later. I agree with you 100%. In all of my travels to Disneyland or WDW (I returned to WDW in 2020), it has always been the kindness of all the cast members that made the real magic, from the ones that clean to the ones that are in the stores or in the food service or in the attractions, all of them always going above and beyond to make the day special and wonderful, and of course the attractions that left you in a WOW! state, like my first time in the Hollywood Tower of Terror or traveling the galaxy in the Millennium Falcon-those are the key elements that make Disneyland or WDW the place you always want to return. The imagineers deserve all my respect and admiration because they are the ones that take us to places no one else can. Thank you, cast members and Imagineering team!

While he had many faults Michael Eisner once said he was the “last of the creative types” to run a studio or entertainment company and I don’t think he was wrong. Prior to Frank Wells’ death and Euro Disney, Eisner had a lot of great ideas and/or fostered creativity among Disney imagineers, cast members and other employees.
You are foolish. I live in the UK and even I know that Disney lost $120 Billion last year due to the declining movie studios and the stance on the parental rights bill.
If you’re concerned about the well-being of the cast members, I encourage you not to be convinced by Bob’s rhetoric. If you listen to the shareholders’ call that took place immediately after they played this video, Iger used the cast members as a scapegoat. As he has many times in the last year, he laid Disney’s political involvement at the feet of the cast members, saying the company chooses to act politically solely for the good of the cast. Speaking from firsthand experience, that is untrue. The fact that he’s willing to trade on the good will Disney’s supporters have toward the cast in order to advance his political career, while having himself failed to support them throughout his tenure, demonstrates his lack of integrity. Iger has never had the best interests of the cast at heart and has rarely acted to restore the safe, conscientious, familial working environment that characterized working for Disney from Walt’s day through the 1990s. Morale has never been lower, and he’s aware of it. But he’s a politician, and he knows how to manipulate his audience.

Mr.paycheck did so much damage to the Disney brand I fear it may be irreversible, yes the imagineers and cast members is what makes disneys magic come to life, however let’s not forget the guests are what KEEP everyone employees and stockholders earning money, when you forget about the guests, when you make the guests feel unimportant, when you force guests to leave the parks to experience other parks in the area, you are creating your own worst nightmare. For Walt, the family dynamic, the guests were at the heart and forefront of everything he did, please ask yourself “what would Walt say” if he were here right now to see what’s happened to his beloved dream? Would you get a Pat on the back or would you get a pink slip? We need to get back to the basics and forget about ALL POLITICS, take that out of the parks NOW! Return Disney to its former glory and I can promise you the money will keep flowing faster than ever!

My fondest memory that stuck with me as a child was the magic moment of visiting at age 6. I patiently waited for my first child to share this memory, while this was the most magical time for both my daughter and myself to experience again I will not be coming back. I spent nearly $8,000 dollars and felt nickel and dime'd the entire way. Look Disney, I love you and what you provided but the pricing we experienced was just beyond ridiculous. $400 a night for a hotel that's not even deluxe? $109 for a Child's ticket? Genie+ is a joke, what happened to the perks of staying at your resorts? You charge more, then take away the reasons to even go that route? Disney, you really need to reevaulate things. I went from wanting to take my kid once a year to never wanting to come back. That's saying something.
You had good memories as a child because your parents took care of the expenses which were probably too high for them at the time. Your kids enjoyed their time there same as you did and well it costs to go to somewhere nice. I live outside the states and nowhere near a Disney Park so when I decide to go and I do that at least once a year I have to pay much more than $8000 (plane tickets, hotels, expenses..etc) but as long as we get to experience the magic and my kids are happy then it’s worth it.
Spot on. Staying on property had certain perks which made it worthwhile. Now…they have taken every single perk away and developed a nickel and dime policy on EVERYTHING. Extra hours in the parks were one…now you have to pay for that as well. It’s flat out GREED and not our destination any more for a family trip.

I want Disney family friendly content back and original content. We have seen so many remakes already. As far as everything now needs to be IP related in the park - how about creating some new original animation. Go back to want made Disney special and memorable. I dumped my passes before Covid. The parks were dirty and not well maintained. And the overwhelming crowds made it feel less than safe. I w. Wen to the parks in the hundreds of time. Driving 2.5 hours sometimes for lunch and people watching. Started to see such frustrations bubbling over into fights. That did it for me. I now no longer desire to go into any park on Disney property.

I am writing this again and more specifically here! Hopefully, people at Disney will share this and understand the real problem and issues that are happening within the House of Mouse!
Bob Iger is a walking disaster at this point. He has proven he does not understand Disney Branding! The proof of this statement is the absolute tanking of Disney Stocks as well as the sheer number of flops of Movies, TV shows and other property expansion ideas. As of Today in late July 2023, everyone is seeing the stupidity in motion disaster of the Snow White franchise being utterly destroyed and one which could seriously harm Disney for years to come. The disaster of Little Mermaid should have given any competent person notice that when you change the Branding model which basically all Franchise titles, movies to the theme parks were all designed to support one another! Bob Iger through sheer idiocy threw out the Branding Model. It is like Starbucks saying they are not going to make coffee orders to go and decide to change the Brand identity to selling milk and tea. That may sound crazy but that is exactly what Bob Iger has been doing since he has been in charge.
I have warned time and again all the Board of Directors of Disney individually the fact that the direction of the company is heading toward financial disaster. I have repeatedly compared how the company Sears hired a bad CEO who basically bankrupted the company where that evil person bought up the Franchise name and brands. After getting those, that CEO accelerated the financial collapse of Sears. Sears filed Bankruptcy and closed all its properties. That CEO then made deals to sell the name and branding rights to differing companies to make billions for himself why shareholders and people who invested in the company for generations went bankrupt and lost billions.
Disney is on the same exact path that Sear was on. Does that mean that Bob Iger will do what happened at Sears? No. However, the actions of Iger is identical to what happened at Sears that lead to Sears selling off Franchise and Branding rights. Iger has stated that Disney needs to sell off the more unprofitable Franchise and Branded items. The slippery slope is where the line on unprofitable lies.
As to the Snow White complete and utter disaster, Disney just needs to BURN all the production videos, photos and film if there is film and never ever allow it to be released to the public! EAT THE COST OF THIS STUPIDITY IN MOTION movie that is a slap in the face to anyone who loves Disney and are basically at this point in time a multi-generational consumer. The Idea of making a live action movie of the animated movie was a good idea! However, the Leadership decision on the "So CALLED REIMAGINATION" basically went contrary to the Disney Model and Branding!
Since Iger does not have a clue why people are pissed at the Little Mermaid and now Snow White, listen up! What is the Current Disney Model and Branding? There are 4 general categories for those who do not know.
The First is Cartoon shorts to 30 minute episodes to full movies of Walt Disney's original characters which has expanded over the years. Iger had dumped this group and has zero plans make more Cartoon TV series which is the most stupid decision in the world by far! Until 2005, this is where Disney created new Franchise expansions and titles.
The Second is the Princess Branding via Children's stories. Disney has the Princess line up across several titles. This princess branding extends into billion dollar merchandising and theme park items including the well known Princess vacation package where a girl or girls are dressed in the Princess of their choice clothes and experience things related to this. The Princess Branding are all based around Fairy Tales from around the world that are well known and kids know and have either read or had it read to them! Snow White Fairy Tale was defined by Walt Disney and it remains the highest grossing animated movie of all time! So, Why in the HELL did Iger change the well defined Fairy Tale that Disney is spending literally hundreds of millions of dollars to promote and has earned billions in return? By doing this, Iger has created a conflict in branding! Additionally, has also created a conflict in current marketing. This is why the Little Mermaid failed! People saw that abomination and wanted nothing of the new version because it did not follow originally defined story line and character layout. Iger does not understand that once something is defined and very successful, you do not change what is not broken! I checked and Little Mermaid sales of merchandise has tanked to all time lows. The same will happen with Snow White. The Woke agenda that Iger is doing though he denies it is a disaster that will ruin any company! The truth is when Iger explains the agenda he is promoting he is literally explaining woke main points. Does Iger want his own Mulvany disaster? Companies should always stay out of Politics and Social hot button issues because as a Company you are selling to both sides. When you pick a side, you lose the majority of all the customers regardless of side.
The Third is Pixars toy promotion and modern family friendly content. Pixars is the one Franchise that actually is doing close to what Walt Disney put into place as a business content model. The only problem with Pixars is lack of new acceptable material that is ready and vetted in the pipeline. When Disney closed the Interactive internet branch along with the Japanese animation studios because of CEO mega stupidity in expanding Hotel resorts when Disney was at 65-70% capacity led to the financial crunch of the early 2000s. Disney by shelving the Interactive internet gaming and video branch cost Disney literally at minimum 1 Trillion dollars in lost potential revenue. How is that possible? One of the studios sold off had a employee named Brandon Beck who was also in College at USC. Beck and his close friends created Riot Games whose first game was League of Legends which used Disney inspired characters that was designed for Kingdom of Hearts universe but none developed out because of Disney closing down to bare minimum this particular category. Riot games is approaching $2 Billion dollars a year solely on 1 game. Disney then purchased interest in one of Riot games partner to get into that money chain. The sad thing is had Disney actually allow the video streaming and gaming branch to continue, League of Legends would have been a Disney Franchise. Riot is not the only company that came out of Disney sell off of the early 2000s. Imagine Disney who would have had a solid share in the $ 900 Billion anime market and was in place to avoid the Japanese business limitations placed on foreign businesses. Disney threw that away for no damn good reason!
The Forth is the unconventional grouping. This is where Star Wars, Marvel Universe and random movies that have no connection to the original Disney Branding model are found. Disney's original Parent Trap and Swiss Family Robinson fits here as examples showing that this category has been around for some time. There were a lot of comedy type movies that were produced over the years that were completely independent of Disney's main generalized Branding model.
It is 100% a FACT that they current already shot movie under the guise of the title Snow White is a MEGA Disaster that is playing out in slow motion. Even a movie buff moron can see that when a studio has to reshoot a finished movie along with redesigning the edit to hide main story line items as well as admitting that casting of the 7 dwarfs as magical creatures to the point of throwing away millions of dollars in a finished trailer to hide them is telling. The list keeps expanding with each passing week as Iger tries to tweak the move to salvage this abomination into something that can at least break even. Truth is Snow White is an utter bomb flop that will hit harder than a lead balloon upon release.

Never been to Disney world before. But I've been to Disneyland aat 13 years old. Experienced Disneyland. It was quite stunning and beautiful. I was in California visiting my second cousin's family. All I want from Disney is for it to return to making enjoyable, accessible films appropriate for family and child viewing, the kind of stories and characters #Illumination, #Ghibli, and #DreamWorks are known and loved for. Don't want to have to worry so much about what contemporary ideology, persuasions, or tolerances it's trying to promote. Just a good, fun movie like i grew up with.
Sadly that's NOT going to happen, because Iger is in FAVOR of pushing the WOKE/LGBT agenda, which goes AGAINST FAMILY values and EVERYTHING Walt stood for!!

However, the woke approach is to talk down to the audience, to make the whole endeavour about 'the message' instead of entertaining people. In Disney's properties over the last 10 years or so almost every male character is either a) Evil b) A buffoon c) totally sidelined even if they are legacy characters. Female characters instead of being written with real agency and depth are OP'd Mary Sue's who have zero potential for a character ark and are 1-dimensional at best. To be progressive is one thing, Star Trek up until 2009 was always progressive but it always focused on great allegory, subtle sub text and amazing science fiction which allowed the viewer to draw their own conclusions. Modern woke Star Trek (and Star Wars, MCU, Rings of Power, Dr Who et al) are obtuse, patronise the viewer, do not permit any other viewpoint to be aired and the producers/writers/actors typically berate fans/viewers who criticise their work as 'ists' and 'phobes' of one sort or another. I know the original 1970's definition of woke was to be socially aware and progressive but today's definition = intolerant, sneering, closed minded, judgmental, ultra-far left, collectivist/communist leaning, cultural Marxist and obtuse to the point of insulting the very people who are paying their wages.

Maybe one day you can wake up from your slumber and realize that it's not all about you. Nor is it all about what you believe "woke" means. It's just about making profits. Honest question, what makes you think he has heard? All the activist executives and employees were put in place while he ran the company. I want to be optimistic and all, but with each new release of content, Disney seems to continue to nose dive. The fact Kathleen Kennedy still hasn't been fired after what she has done to Star Wars, I don't think anyone is listening. Disney management is a giant left-wing echo chamber it seems. I wish they would come back to the moderate center, and stop creating activist children shows. At this rate I'll never be able to renew my Disney+ subscription again. All my family has left is the parks, we don't consume any new Disney content anymore, and even the parks are being thrashed by the out of control DEI teams.

Some Involvements of the company, to a normal person would be considered nothing short of immoral, evil. I live in Florida, when family and friends visit, Disney is no longer in the plans. I ended 32 years of spending money there. The reality is It that all will get worse, the magic, the decency, the focus on the right things. You realize that Disney does everything they can to make a welcoming environment for all while also dealing with those in the real world who only want to serve their base. So they take an easy target and attack. The problem isn't that there's been poor earnings or legal battles. Every company is going thru those. The problem is that, not matter what Disney does it's under and intense microscope. Explain to me why Reedy Creek was fine for Florida for 50+ years, but then it wasn't... But explain it without one reference to a political party. Because remember, Reedy Creek Improvement District had been in place under both party's leadership in Florida for decades.

The only remark I want to hear is that you vow to not have an agenda that goes beyond making memories for families at the Parks. Seems as though people have missed key memos to include a video of one of your top employees and their not so secret agenda and you tweeting out a political tweet smearing the reality of an important bill and adding to the pile-on. That is irresponsible leadership. I love the Walt Disney World parks, was a passholder for years. Myself and many others want it to stay on the course Walt wanted. Stay in your lane, Iger.

I think most people that are against the bill agree with avoiding explicit sexual material to children. I think the main issue people have with the bill is the vagueness. For example: if a lesbian teacher has a picture of her wife and some student asks about it, will her job now be in jeopardy if she tells the student she is her wife? The parent could be interpret that as instruction of sexual identity. A principal was recently fired in Florida because 3 parents had issues with not being notified of instruction about the statue of David to middle schoolers. Italians bring their elementary school students to see the statue.
I think Disney wanted to avoid taking sides on that bill at first, which angered their employees. Many artists are LGBTQ. Actually, even Howard Ashman (RIP) wrote the best music for Disney films in the 90s was gay. I think when people say that Disney has “an agenda” or Hollywood has “an agenda”, they forget that many of the artists that create the stories or design the characters are LGBTQ. Bob Chapek was kind of put in the position of choosing to side with his employees or the DeSantis, and he eventually made a statement against the bill. It was kind of a no-win scenario for Chapek. Bob Iger is now on board to clean up the image and trying to stay quiet on the matter, but DeSantis is already on the agenda of creating the battle between him and Disney to please his supporters.
As if the authors of that bill had no agenda themselves. They just want the people harmed by their laws to roll over and not do anything to protect themselves.

@@lquispe1 I think it's worth noting that almost all of Disney's employees who protested the bill were Californians. Only a single Floridian employee protested. The merits of the bill are arguable, but it doesn't look good for a corporation to fight legislation that the majority of a state wants when pressured by said Californians.
Also, I kind of agree that the statue of David shouldn't have been shown to kids under a certain age without parental permission. Especially out of a health Ed class. This coming from an art major who loves history. US has a different attitude to nudity compared to Europeans in general. The comparison isn't exactly fair when nudity can cause a film to be rated 'R' by the country's standards. 😅
