- Come along as we take you on an inside look at Walt Disney Imagineering. Inspired by how Walt took us along during the development of Disneyland, this new series brings you into the creative and design journey as we turbocharge our Disney Experiences as Disney Imagineers create these new innovative experiences for the next decade and beyond!
The fact that Zazu from the Enchanted Tiki Room Under New Management, one of the most widely hated animatronics of all time, just pops up in the background of an unrelated video is part of why it's so worthwhile to watch the Imagineering videos when they come out.
the fact that he's not dead and burnt is what was shocking. seeing old figures and animatronics as a whole was such a delight
Nobody hated the animatronics from that show. That’s why Uh-Oa is now featured at Trader Sam’s Grog Grotto.
@@gsrandomvidz To be fair, Iago was the one to catch on fire; not Zazu.
@@nickthedreamer4434RIP Iago
Little Red from the old safari storyline is the elephant he stands in front of!
This should have be released as a series for Disney+ but it's on RUclips so all the fans can see the amazing work you're doing now, thank you everyone !!!
Disney+ really could use a ton more parks/attractions/imagineering content.
That’s exactly what I was thinking as well!
You Must watch the imagineering Story i have watched twice
Everyone can see why they did it this way. It's mostly about the new attraction opening. Great marketing
@@ekimzarkit’s mental isn’t it. It’s their biggest money maker yet they don’t use it to its full potential.
This is everything we've been missing for the last decade. I grew up watching the making of documentaries for the various parks and blockbuster attractions around the world, and it makes me so happy to finally see these behind the scenes looks return
Behind the scenes shows inspired me to go to film school
Yes, I remember that series. There were 4 videos. It was something like Disney Parks: Behind the Scenes. Those were the best!
I faithfully watched Galaxy's Edge being built at Disneyland on @FreshBaked for 3 straight years. It was the most gratifying experience since I watched the construction of Disneyland videos 😊
The first time I've felt the Disney 'feels' in years. THIS is why we love Disney. THIS is why Disney is second to none at the parks. Thank you for bringing Bruce back. This feels like the ship that we love is turning in the right direction once again; to simply entertain and amaze us. Fantastic video. Keep it all coming!
They still won't fix the yetti.
FIX THE GD YETI !!!
Rose colored glasses
Love the Mickey on Louis’ chest. No one will ever see it on the ride, but it’s cool to know it’s there.
It has been my sole focus to work in Disney Imagineering since I was 5 years old and that was 13 years ago. I am now getting ready to attend college/university to study robotics in the hope that I can build animatronics for the Disney parks one day.
The thing that blows my mind is that not only can they get these things to move in that way but they have to build them to move in that way for twelve hours a day, 365 days a year. That's the really insane part of this. They truly make the magic.
They actually made a huge mistake with one animatronic. The Yetti would be attached to a main pillar in the mountain so every movement he made, it would ruin the structure. To be fair, that was a program error.
FINALLY no cop out, weird screen faces! Back to the real magic of creating life like faces that made me believe starting as a child that the characters were truly there "living" at Disney. What joy and memories these animatronics bring back. Outstanding job Imagineering! Please always use this when you can moving forward! Thank you!🪄
It seems they’ve learned their lesson with the projected faces. Frozen Ever After opened in Hong Kong at the end of last year, and that version had real faces on the figures, not projected ones like the Epcot version
@@kevinwelge7208 hopefully! It always felt like such a lazy move....they might as well have just put a TV as their heads! (Creepy I know, but that's the concept!) But glad to see real faces coming back! 😌 It's a true opportunity to showcase the imagineers skill!
@@kevinwelge7208 Well, Hong Kong decisions are not made exclusive by the Disney Company. It's a near 50/50 ownership, but Hong Kong has a greater stake. It may very well have been that Disney reassessed from Hong Kong's version. Maybe.
As a lifelong Disney fan, I LOVE it when Disney gives us any behind the scenes look from animation, to the parks & their history, to things like this-Imagineering! Thank you so much for this and to all the Imagineers who have supplied us fans/guests with so many wonderful and magical experiences in the parks for all these years...THANK YOU!
Same here!
Man those electric actuators are so smooth.
Yeah I really want to know what they use or how they power them. Some of the smaller things can use regular servos but I don't know enough about the rest
Agreed I kind of want a whole video just showing how that works 😂😂😂😂😂
Looks more like stepper motor
imagineering is one of my favourite disney departments, ive watched every disney + documentary, my obsessionss r being fed again
I love that this isn’t just a retheme and throwing new skins on old animatronics but going all out and creating brand new amazing animatronics.
I’m legit sobbing over how beautiful these figures are!
I am glad people are giving this a chance. I know people will miss Splash Mountain but I am glad they innovating. Tiana deserved a better movie! This feels like the opportunity to do that.
louis without his cosmetics is so cool to see, those bodyshells are so elaborate and work together in unison so well
Please more of this Imagineering content!! This was so interesting! Loved seeing the new characters too!
This is gorgeous. I could watch this type of content forever.
Yes! Back to stunning animatronics! Thank you Disney Imagineering! The Zootopia and Princess and the Frog characters look amazing as these full blown animatronics. As do those adorable droids! This all looks so high quality and you can tell how much time and effort and love was put into them! Thank you!
I so prefer these to the semi animatronics with screens, those look so off. This is the type of animatronic I fell in love with!
I love how Disney can make me feel just like a child again. Definitely excited to experience Tiana’s Bayou Adventure when it opens up at Disneyland.
Inspiring curiosity, imagination, and collaboration. Three things our world is always in need of.
I want Disney to remake the original journey into imagination but with new technology, cause it would be so cool to see that beautiful attraction with modern technology, it would make it 10 times better
With the innovations they made for this ride I can only imagine on how energize figment could be not to mention the upgrades if we get the dream finder back too
I reckon they are thinking about it. Maybe they are waiting for the art to catch up.
What we need in the meantime is for Daniel Distory to play the Dreamfinder in a musical review
Finally, something uplifting that provides hope for all of us Disney fans! They should have done this a while ago! So happy to see a video highlighting the importance and role of Disney Imagineers creating the Disney magic! Love the behind the scenes approach giving us a glimpse of the process on developing storytelling using animatronics for future rides! It reminded me of Walt Disney's Wonderful World of Color television series! Walt would have been very proud to see this! Keep doing this! Kudos to the Imagineers!! ❤
Tiana's Bayou animatronics are looking amazing!
Uhhh, the name is Tiana's Bayou Adventure
@@myartistryisunbound You're right, but I was mentioning the animatronics in the video!!
These are next level animatronics. I am happy to see that Disney is not relying on projections for Tiana's Bayou. I will miss the river boat from Splash Mountain, but this progress is indeed encouraging, shared by those who have the coolest jobs on the planet, the Imagineers.
Oooh the peak of Tiana in her final scene look at 12:32
true
Nice catch!
My dream job has always been to become a Disney Imagineer. I remember hearing the term on a documentary when I was a child and I fell in love with the limitless creativity of the Imagineers. I've been building stuff for years now, still pursuing the dream.
Don’t give up, finish college then apply for a professional internship, or college program at the parks. That gets your foot in the door with the company. The Disney Careers website will show you what’s they are looking for, and the qualifications for the role!
These animatronics are looking amazing! Plus CAPTAIN R-3X Sighting!
Rex works in a bar in galaxies edge, of course they’d have spares sitting about.
@@ethanshackleton This is the OG model though
Also a Zazu sighting
Woah gamexplain sighting here
What are you doing here?
This is the Disney we have been wanting to see make a return for years. It's great to see the Imagineering band back together. Disney has always been about a sense of wonder and imagination, not nickel and diming visitors, and giving them a budget park experience. Universal has finally awaken Disney, I hope this is a sign of things to come! Awesome video, please don't stop with this behind the scenes series.
Love you Walt.
Wow John Damaro standing with the Davy Jones figure from Pirates of the Caribbean. Glad to see there’s still some care for things tied to the Pirates of the Caribbean films.
I wish I could hug every single person who’s working on Tiana’s. The love and care and dedication they’re putting into this means more to me than they’ll ever know. They really are making my dream come true.
A princess Tiana animatronic is your dream in life?... You need a hobby
1, I would bet $100 right now that Lewis is skinned in either nylafleece, fuzzelle, or f3 fleece. The texture and matte finish makes me think fuzzelle. All puppet fleeces developed recently within the past 8 years or so, designed to hide seams with their fuzz.
2, Tiana's mouth and cheek movements are boggling my mind, they're the smoothest and most natural I've seen in an animatronic. I know it's too much to hope for disney to show her facial rig and how they're casting her skin, but god I want to know how they did it!!
THIS RIGHT HERE - is why I love Disney so much!! We have been missing this so much - thank you so much for sharing this will all of us. For someone who does not get to visit as often as we’d like I watch videos on the daily and this one brought tears of joy to my eyes. Finally feel like it’s getting back to the Disney that Walt and Roy themselves wanted it to be and that we were all used to it being!!! The Magic is ALIVE!!!
I need the next episode already! Imagineering and the behind the scenes work is truly the heart of Disney's magic. I look forward to what's coming...both in the episodes and from the Imagineers!
What a breathe of fresh air ❤ Thank you Disney, we haven’t lost hope
Way to go Bruce! Keep this kind of stuff coming. The fans love this stuff!
This is the kind of content we always used to enjoy on Disney+ All those behind the scenes "making the magic" of classic Disney storytelling! Thanks for bringing it here!! So exciting
I love that you are taking us, step by step, into the creation of characters and showing us what transpires in Disney Imagineering. Thank you
This is amazing. Imagineers are such an important part of my childhood memories and it's great to see the people behind the magic.
So...this is less pandering and more authentic than both Behind the Attraction and The Imagineering Story on Disney+, and it's free on RUclips! 👏 I like hearing directly from the Imagineers themselves without dumbing down or blatantly making fun of Disney history like both Disney+ series did. Besides Josh's intro (likely him gunning for CEO since it's a very Walt-esque intro), it's refreshingly devoid of corporate double-speak! 🌟
Certainly an authentic destruction of classic Disney history while replacing it with a less popular ride.
@@myartistryisunbound less popular than a ride that hasn't even premiered yet? Or are you trying to argue that Song of the South is more popular than Princess and the Frog? Either way, your comment is seriously stupid, lol. You can have opinions, but this attempt to frame it as objective fact is just embarassing.
@@8LiterallyJustTheNumber8 its going to be less popular 100% guaranteed lol then we'll see who the stupid one is lololol

I loved this so much! I’d love to see a video covering Grogu and bringing meet and greet characters to life, Mando especially. His costuming is stunning.
Absolutely love seeing behind the scenes. I can’t wait to be back. I find Imagineering so inspiring!!!
they give you a peak behind the curtain, and there is still magic!
Not going to lie kinda got emotional watching ths...it brought back my childhood memories of watching behind the scenes of disney magic... this video made the reincarnation of disney magic
Holy cow!! I didn’t realize animatronics had advanced this far. They’re so lifelike and their movements are so fluid and animated!
THIS is why we are theme park and Disney fans. The most magical part where things come to life 😊 Thanks for sharing this here and not only on Disney+. Good promotion Disney! 🎉
What a great behind the scenes look. I love the parks and seeing the completed version of things. But a look at this imagineering video gives me a whole new outlook and appreciation for the work that's put into making things to entertaine the guest.
I'm so, so, so, so excited to see a return of animatronic faces rather than the projection ones. So, so, so excited to go on this ride in the near future!!
Its just jawdropping to see the lifelike movement of the figures, its THE aspect that motivates me to educate myself about electronics and maybe, with emphasis on maybe, work with it someday in the way the Imagineers work with it.
It feels like we are in the right track again. Thanks for all you are doing to make the magic!
PLEASE DISNEY ADD SO MUCH MORE OF THIS! Your older fans beg for all this!!! Im such an avid fan at 50+ and always stand in Disney’s corner in every conversation. PLEASE give back to us that are diligent followers ❤
Jaw Dropping display of technology and innovation. Actuators, servos, controls, and those who design and build them have come so far. I'll probably never see this live in my lifetime, but hopefully will live it through videos like this. Very happy to see this. Disney, make it affordable for more people to enjoy this at your parks.
This was incredible! Better than anything I have seen come out of Disney in decades. The behind the scenes videos done years ago was incredible. More of this is what the true Disney nerds want to see!
I have been working tirelessly, getting the most knowledge, the best experiences just to be one of the imagineers and assist in the creation of the magic you guys make. You are my inspiration, I am deeply thankful.
I hope you get there!
@@Director_V Thank you very much!
WDI has always been a massive source of inspiration throughout my life and I’ve dreamed of making a career with you guys ever since I was a little kid. I’ve recently returned to college to try to make that dream a reality so hopefully I’ll have the opportunity to work alongside you all soon. Thank you for all that you do to bring happiness into the world!
One of my fave memories ever: years ago (probably 1989), when Head of Archives Becky Cline was the secretary to Dave Smith (gawd, the smell of cigarette smoke that came from his office! 😱) and I stumbled upon the then-small archives-I saw the famous birdcage sitting on a pedestal, and gasped, “Is that THE birdcage?” She smiled and nodded and then asked me if I wanted to see it work! You could’ve knocked me over with a feather. I still have the video I made. Iconic!!
I could watch this for hours and days and weeks and months and years and years and years thank you to Walt Disney's Imagineers ❤
Thank you for putting Walt at the beginning of this. It reminds me of the Wonderful World of Color programs he would do. Grateful for this tiny ray of hope that Disney is starting to turn back to the company we know and love.
This series is a great way for Imagineers to be transparent with fans outside of D23, so they can show progress on things without so much pressure
Still not happy about Splash Mountain re-Theme. Just my opinion. However, these animatronics are unbelievable!!! I didn’t think they’d look this good! I was thinking they’d be going with led screens and projection. This is incredible
I’ve LOVED Disney since I was very young, and I’ve decided that I’m going to fulfill my dream of becoming a Walt Disney Imagineer.💖
I just love a back story behind the scenes look at these department !!!!
This is Disney. This feels like something Walt would be proud of. I see you back there Wax Candleman!
Sometimes I get so cynical when I think about Disney and how greedy I feel the corporation can be, and while there is truth to that, I cannot help but being inspired by the Imagineers and the work and passion they put into the Parks. It makes me keep wanting to go back to see what they’ve created.
For sure. The imagineers do a great job, the problem is if they get enough of a budget or not from the 'suits' to work their magic
This is spectacular. Thank you for putting this out for all of use to see.
It feels like lately Disney has really forgotten what the Disney difference is, but watching this video gives me hope for the future. Well done, this looks amazing!
I absolutely LOVED The Imagineering Story on D+. I was so Excited to hear about this series on YT that will continue on the above. Bravo' to All The Imagineers that Make This Awesome Magic. Walt would be very proud of you, All! 💖✨🏰
YES THANK YOU!!! This is amazing and I'm so happy we get to peak behind the curtain! Especially at the animatronics!
absolutely geeking out thank you for this series
Love the series idea. I can't wait to watch more of it.
David here from Sebring Florida and I have been a Disneyland fan and collector for over fifty years and this is one of the best videos I have seen on the company in many years. It really makes me proud to say I am a Disneyland fan. It brought tears to my eyes. 😂
AWESOME CONTENT ON RUclips!!!!!! Brings me back to the days of DVD's and DVD featurettes. Or webisodes early 2000s. LOVE ITTT!!!
Wow these new Disney animatronics are so cool!! Amazing!!
Wow… Like so many I’m sure probably have already stated, this video is truly amazing! I can honestly watch nothing else and be completely happy. Being able to see episodes like this really means a lot to me. Whether a career in Imagineering could ever become a reality or not for me, viewing episodes such as this at least can give me some kind of imagination being one of those incredible minds busy at work in the company creating some kind of magic that’ll amaze or possibly inspire others in some way to imagine and create something remarkable someday.
Thank you 🙏🏾
The Josh Dimaro animatronic is impressive
THIS IS EPIC. What a great in deep documentary. Pure eye candy.
Thank you so much for sharing this with us all. What Disney started, and all the current cast continues to do, has inspired so many! Myself included - I aspire to do one tenth of what the Imagineers do - 1/100th even…. Ya’ll are amazing and have truly impacted more than you can realize!
THIS is the content we have been begging for!!!!!!!
Super excited for this series!!!
I love this so much! I’m so excited to see the behind the scenes of what everyone does in imagineering. I’m happy to see Disney return to form with Audio Animatronics and classic imagineering creativity. Makes me happy.
This is incredible. It gave me the sense of wonder I've missed from Disney so much.
So amazing at everything they do, it’s a dream to be as brilliant as these people!
Well done! Josh walking around imagineering, reminds me of the old videos of Walt
Now THIS is what you guys have been missing! Bring us more and better experiences. Keep going, remember who you are.❤
Disney Finally celebrating Imagineers! I think the last time that happened Walt Disney was still around!
WOW........this is amazing. The whole video brought tears to our eyes. Have already watched it numerous times. You can feel the Disney magic! 💞 😍

WoW this is so fluid and smooth!
Amazing how it’s all done. Flawless!
