I was not expecting a victory to Portugal even with this powerfull and touching music because i knew at the first time Italy or France could be the winners. But Portugal deserved a better place.
The background history was the only one about a woman from Netherlands. We share love wherever we go doesnt matter the results . 🇵🇹
By the way congratulations to Netherlands for the amazing show they produced. Was the best ESC show in my entire life. The lights, fireworks, rooftops moment, the Afrojack music in the bridge. Everthing. It was brilliant.

I think the jury got its position right at 7th. Then the televote (especially the Portuguese emigrants who "sabotaged" the results) screwed it up.

Unlike other performers who looked at her arrogantly, the Portuguese always came to her dressing room before a concert and wished her success, and the soloist kissed her encouragingly on the head. NICE JOB, TBM. After rock tunes, I prefer old school ! 70'S FOREVER !! Those are songs I used to hear when I used to be a kid.
Of all the songs this year, this one felt the most like a genuine song.
I think it should have been the winner or at least much higher. There is nothing over the top about this song and the vocals and all instruments work together so perfectly.
Thank God for the juries. They at least gave Portugal the points they deserved. It's painfull how a masterpiece like this is so underapreciated by the public.
We don't have more points in Eurovision because we are Portugal.......Is the true. The points go to the marketing sharks.....We are small country. We are nothing in ESC..
This didn't win because it isn't Eurovision level: it's *above* Eurovision level. Bee Gee voice, majestic instrumental, the guitar solo, classy display, no shouting, no glitter... Portugal can be proud 🇵🇹🎩
Bold assumption to make, it didn't win because quite frankly, it's forgettanble, also in English, also a slow ballad, meaning lot of competition. His voice is nice though, but really, no surprises, we knew from the start the Juries will love them because they're posh snobs but the public won't really care.

Considering the Eurovision target public, 12th is really good, specially for a blues, non radio friendly commercial song! It's an amazing song and beautiful performance, I was mesmerized. Very different from the rest of the competition. Unfortunately, the running order screwed Portugal (and Malta). Portugal was the best last night imo

This was, beyond doubt, the best performance of the night. I liked the song before but I love it now. They deserved to be much higher in the results but, if I were Portuguese, I'd be very proud to have had this song and performance represent my country.
I fully expect to be listening to this version of the song for many years to come and encourage all of those who love it to download it and make it a huge hit, regardless of eurovision.

Portugal was truly the dark horse of the year. Nobody believed this masterpiece would make it to the final let alone finish 12th. From the bottom to the top. This is what i love about Eurovision, it's a place for all kinds of music. congrats!
Tbh this song did a massive 180 degree turn during the rehearsal week, people went from "meh this is garbage, there's no way this is going through" to "oh this is actually quite nice".

Portugal placed higher than Finland and Greece in the semi final. Portugal would have reached top 10 if it wasn't for the running order. What a voice. What a song! The first time a Eurovision song is going to be added to my playlist.

I still remember how much I felt sorry for Black Mamba when the public votes were announced and the band members looked that disappointed because of their low score. And then I was like "what if other people all across Europe had the same problem"?
