    Well done to the grading students for an impressive show of spirit! Those leg shots really are the killer, it only takes one well placed thigh kick to put you down…

    This looks awesome, if the rest of karate had gradings like this it's reputation would be much better. I get that the first section is headshots allowed, second is knockdown rules, but at 8 mins is it clinch with punches and knees only? Well done again all karateka

    Are there any Kudo dojos in London? Looks like good fun and a great addition to my kyokushin background

    How long are you allowed on the ground in Kudo? Are submissions happening often? Cheers, and thanks for putting Kudo on the map, I'm going to try the local gym out next week.

    • @kudouk

      10 sec standing clinch - 30 seconds on the ground and yes subs happen a lot

      @@Janisurai yes Kudo is 2 thirds striking and throwing as out of a 3 min round you are only allowed to stay on the ground 30sec twice in a round

    If I don't have Kudo gyms in my country what martial arts can I train ? I'm guessing Judo, Kyokushin and boxing?

    What did you put them through before the sparring? They look thoroughly gassed at the beginning and there doesn't seem to be much room on the matt for other bouts to be happening.

      @@kudouk Very nice.
      I wish there was Kudo around the Hunter Valley, it would have been a good next step from Kyokushin. Sadly the Judo guys got flooded and haven't restarted and all the MMA guys are hellbent on groundwork.
      I wish you guys good fortune and strong growth - Osu.

    I did not realize pulling guard was an acceptable strategy in competitive kudo? I thought kudo was all about takedowns and of course ground submission work and ground striking but I didn't think pulling guard was usually a thing?

    • @kudouk
      @kudouk  2 года назад

      Guard is used in Kudo all the time. Its not the 'go to' but is very effective for setting up defensive submissions

      @@trustmeimaphysiologist I think Kudo is a fantastic martial art! I think standard MMA compared to kudo is garbage honestly. I think Kudo has so much more to offer the student in terms of Spiritual Development and self-defense

    WHat is the Kudo belt order? Same as Kyokushin or same as Judo?
    Also isn't the short-sleeved Gi a bit of an unfair advantage (thinking from a judo perspective)?

    • @kudouk
      @kudouk  2 года назад

      Purple, Blue, Yellow, Green, Brown, Black. Personally I find long sleeves limiting so short sleeves are more functional for striking
